- 🎦 About This Video:
Day 2 of my 5-part "Radiotherapy Week", where I share the experience of getting radiotherapy to reduce the size of the largest tumour in my lungs and get rid of the symptoms (breathlessness + coughing) I've been experiencing for the last month or so.
▶️ About This Channel:
I've always been a storyteller. I've written hundreds of short stories and multiple books, but I always sensed I was meant to share a different story.
MY story.
I wasn't sure what that was until I was diagnosed with STAGE 4 Alveolar Soft Part Sarcoma (a SUPER rare type of cancer for which there is NO CURE).
I decided to embrace my motto of Living Out Loud and started sharing my journey in vlog format.
This is my story. Real. Raw. Unfiltered.

1 min and 48 seconds in and can I just say how lucky your wife is 🥰 you're a good man
I'm a good man because of my wife. I wouldn't have made it this far without her. She is my everything.
Lol at how casually you say “such as passing out and convulsing on the metro”. Tragic yet hilarious
He takes everything in his stride. How can we not admire this man?❤
Hahaha. I like to be dramatic. And sometimes being casual is the best way to be dramatic 🤣.
@@lindc1070 Awww, thanks for being so kind 🙏
Wow you did more in a half day then most people do in a week😂 l hope you get to meet up with your Friend, and maybe have some lunch together. Stay Happy ✌️🙏✨
Hahaha. I went into detail, but I didn't actually do that much. And, yes, my friend was able to come over. We cooked and ate and talked. It was nice.
Love your bullet points day. That was sweet to do for everyone❤. You’re such a nice smart wonderful man.
I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for being so kind 🙏.
Commenter had great idea glad you did it
Yeah. A lot of people have made good suggestions in the comments.
Your information about what to bring in case you have to stay at the hospital is helpful. Thanks.😊
Yes, perhaps you can talk about this in a future video. Did you ever get admitted when you didnt expect to be?
I learned it the hard way. Now I'm always prepared.
@@nesadcruz7840 More times than I would like to be, unfortunately (3 times).
Your step by step on the dollar store card process was so spot on 😂 you have such a vibrant sense of humor
Hahaha. Thanks. I wish I could have used that approach for the entire video, but I kept having to glance at my notebook to know the time of each event, and that kept ruining my flow. Maybe one day I'll get to use that approach again. It was fun.
Love the background today, obviously in a park. If everyone laughed as much as you, the world would be a better place. Stay strong. Always thinking of you xx
Me too. Lovely setting, makes a nice change😊
I like it too. Pls do more of these.
Humour certainly is great medicine
Yeah. It's a short walk from the hospital. I've recorded a few videos there in the past. It's a beautiful place.
@@Sunshine-zi4nq Yeah. I love parks (and nature in general).
❤❤❤❤
🙏🙏🙏
I never thought to bring my charger. Thanks for the tip if I ever have to do it again. Hopefully not. Love the park.
❤️🙏🏻🇺🇸
I didn't think of it either until I was in a situation where my phone was running out of battery and I had to ask a friend to buy one and bring it to me. Since then, I always bring it whenever I go to the hospital.
They say soursop is good to beat cancer. Heard that so many times from a bunch of people. In Israel we call the fruit Anona and we eat it as is. The meat is so tender it’s amazing.
The leaves made into tea are supposed to help.
Yeah. It was one of the most common suggestions I received. I tried the fruit, but it's very expensive here, so tea seemed like the simpler option.
@@Peter-pe6pp Yes. I drink three soursop teas each day.
This was interesting and helps us visualise what your morning was like. Perhaps you could film some of the streets on your route for us when you are going to the store or out walking somewhere.
The treatment doesnt take long but hope you arent feeling any bad side effects.
I like the idea. Would be nice to see a bit of your part of Montreal.
I like the idea. The only problem is that it would require editing, and that is something I don't have the patience for. I shoot everything in one take. The only alternative I have found is taking pictures and sharing them in the community section of the channel. But if you think of a way for me to share more without having to do any editing, please let me know.
@@LivingOutLoud-LWS4Cthe photos are fine
Adorable
🙏🙏🙏
That was my request and am thankful you responded to it😊
I can see other viewers found it interesting too. It certainly gives us a better picture of your day. Were you able to eat and sleep well after the treatment?
I appreciate the suggestion. Like you said, it seems like people enjoyed it.
To answer your question, no. It seems like I'm starting to experience side effects from the radiotherapy, so I didn't sleep well and has issues breathing. I suspect side effects are what I will talk about in today's video.
@@LivingOutLoud-LWS4C hope you feel better soon.
@@lindc1070Thanks 🙏.
Am glad you responded to that comment with this video. You got a lot done in the morning. So what did you do the rest of the day?
My best friend came over and we cooked, ate, and talked. Then I relaxed for the rest of the day and watched some TV and spoke to my wife via video call (like we do every day).
@@LivingOutLoud-LWS4Csounds good
How about telling us your love story. How you met your wife
Where is she? I need to go back and watch all of the yet.
I already recorded a video sharing how we met. It's called "My Wife Is My Cure."
@@maryann823 She's still in her home country (Nicaragua). We're waiting for immigration to allow her to join me in Canada.
@@LivingOutLoud-LWS4Coh I hope it’s soon! You need her!
@@maryann823 Thanks 🙏. Me too.
Bon Jour. Good idea for a video. Theme of the day- I love that. You could do more “ theme of the day “ videos. For me Perfect Timing often means the lights are in my favour when I drive😂
Did you get to meet up with your friend? Hope you had a good rest of the day.
Btw do you eat differently when doing Radiotherapy? Is your appetite affected?
Thanks, but I can't take credit for the video. It wasn't my idea. But I definitely enjoyed it. It was fun to record.
Yes, my friend came over and we cooked, ate, and hung out. It was fun.
No, my dies doesn't change when I get radiotherapy. As for the appetite, it seems unaffected (so far the medication I have been taking has has the biggest impact on my appetite).
@@LivingOutLoud-LWS4C glad you got to hang out with your friend. Adds a nice touch to the day.
@@nesadcruz7840 Absolutely! It was definitely a nice distraction from my everyday life.
@@LivingOutLoud-LWS4C perhaps sometime you will tell you the story of your friendship with your best friend. How long you have been best friends and how you became best friends. My best friend and I go way back to kindergarten. We live in different countries now but we are best friends for life.
@@nesadcruz7840 There isn't much to tell. We used to be roommates and spent so much time together we realized we had a lot in common and ended up becoming best friends. We've been best friends ever since. The end. Like I said, not much to tell. But thanks for asking.
Were you speaking French?
😂😂
I don’t know why but I always hated French even if I am Italian…
I prefer English, definitely.
Thanks for the news ♥️
See you soon 🤗
Yeah. That was French. But it was Canadian French, not France French, so hopefully not as bad for you 🤣.
What language were you speaking?
You answered that as we went in.
Will he be doing Spanish next?😂
The answer was already provided, but... that was french.
@@lindc1070 I was going to, but now you ruined the surprise 😥. Just kidding, I'll probably still do it 🤣.
