I would recommend getting a glass lens insert. It really makes a difference
I have several old tools from my dad and my grandpa. They're nothing of great monetary value, but they're irreplaceable.
Good on you, Freddy, for keeping your Pop's memory alive. Gotta know where you came from to know where you're going.
Thank you!
Got to love seeing something old get a new lease on life!
Thanks!
Very nice tribute to your Dad. 😊😇🤗
Didn't know about that Coke method... thanks ! 🤔😏🖒
Thank you so much!!
Good stuff. Ur old man would be proud 👍
Thanks!
Good job. One suggestion: you should lube the o-rings with silicone grease. Note, it must be grease, not liquid or spray kind. The grease keeps them soft and working. Works with car o-rings and rubber seals too.
I inherited my granddads tools a week ago. He passed away already like 30 years ago but now as my grandmom also passed away his tools were given to me. Among the tools was a pristine looking black Mini Maglite. I ordered a 180 lumen led kit to upgrade it to todays standards.
Excellent!!!
One of the gifts I gave my dad for Christmas was a MagLight flashlight back in the mid-late 90's! He still has it too although he's retired now and doesn't use it as much. LOL
Really cool video. I recently bought a big Maglite (also with corroded batteries) and I found you looking for a solution. I'll try the Coke.
Yes do more 👍
Buffin that oring, every1wins a trophy.
Try a little rubbing compound on that lens, the compound has afb adhesive that will cut thru the build up from years of use or tooth paste with baking soda which is your abrasive . Looks better and brighter though.
I now how to remove the corroded battery thanks for sharing. I'll try it on my flashlights
How do you remove the contact plastic piece that revealed how corroded it was?
Hello, I’ve heard of using white vinegar but never to use coke. How did you learn about it? Have you tried both? If so which was best and why? Thanks
Not too shabby
Thanks!
The bulb contacts can fall out and are not easy to replace. Be careful once the holder is removed
if cola can do that to battery acid imagine what it does to our body. anyways like the color of the light. good job
Thanks!
This is old I hope you're still replying to thos. How long should I soak the Maglight in Coke?
I honestly don't remember how long I let it sit, maybe a few hours?
@@PoorManMods I tried a day and it didn't work at all
nice + sub
Thanks!
Something I learned..soak a Maglite in Coca Cola if tge batteries are stuck in. Great tip.
Nice job, but that LED conversion kit is rubbish. 30 Lumens? The Terralux Ministar2 Extreme has been around for years and puts out 140+. Actually turns old mini mags into something good :-)
I'm having a difficult time finding the Terralux kit
Where's the Sentra at!?!? Restore my nismo strut bar bruh.
I sold the sentra 4.5 years ago
I lost my dad at 19.
Sorry to hear that my friend
@@PoorManMods Thanks! I thought I say that since we both know how it feels to lose a parent and you restorying something of his. I had my dad's limited edition 06 zx636r for a while until it got stolen.
Note: im 25 now.
@@maddmaxx636 It got stolen?! Oh man I'd be pissssseddddddddddd! I hope you have some other items that he left behind. I don't have much, just a few mechanic tools and thats all.
@@PoorManMods That was really the only thing I have of my dad that truly meant something. I worked with my dad in IT so Ive got some of his old stuff but not much that really means much.
