HOLY SHIT I FOUND IT, I've been listening to the mountain goats for like 3 years and this was one of the first songs I heard but I could never find it again to the point I convinced myself I dreamed it or it was some other band but finally after 3 years it has returned to me
I have one similar song that I just can't find. it was on CZcams and I was drunk. I can't find it on Spotify. I've listened to the whole discography many times over the years. I just can't find it. it played after I listened to a single off the Beat the Champ album before it dropped. but it was much older than that. and I just can't find it!

I got it when the other video got taken down lol. It occurred to me that others might not be so lucky so I put it back up. This is my favourite tmg song by far.
And the new song, which has no title as of yet One, two three, four In comes you, not the same person i knew Looking roughly the same, but something hungry getting restless in your brain So there i go, not the same person that you used to know Peeking through the fisheye lens at you And the cornet blows where the oleander grows And us too, not the same people that our old friends knew And so down the street you head in the high summer heat White long-sleeved oxford pushed up to just before your elbows Black pumps and a medium length black skirt Eating a path through the dark damp earth I hope they've got plenty of money where you're going And the cornet blows where the oleander grows And us too, not the same people that our old friends knew
This song reminds me of how much I love my sister for who she is- even if for 20 years that was my brother. We dont change because life stands still around us and i dont know if our old friends would recognize us. Or care.

I still don't know why more people don't love TMG.
because most people have bad taste.
The people who don't are uncultured swines lmao 😂😁
Because they haven't heard it.
I live in Germany ... and it seems that I'm the only fan in this whole country
You cursed this. Now it's a tic toc thing.
Will never tire of this
Was going crazy thinking I just made this song up.

Thank you for bringing this back to youtube. As it turns out, it's actually really hard to get a copy of Letter from Belgium.

Hi Joel.
I'd be funny to hear a compilation of all the -this song doesn't have a title yet- statements because his inflection is always wack
Kimya Dawson helped write this song
How did this not make the album?
It "made" the album and would have been a single. He intentionally wanted to keep it as a bit of a hidden gem
