Thank you so much, Yvonne, for this video. I am 45 and have had Fibro for most of my life, and nobody gets it, even when I explain. My mom gets it better than my dad; my dad just gets angry at me when I sleep all day. He doesn't understand that when my body says "No" to getting out of bed, there's nothing I can do about it but to stay in bed. Sometimes I feel all alone and misunderstood. Thank you for posting these videos---they make me feel less alone.

this was actually really validating. I don't know anyone with fibromyalgia really and i tend to feel like the things i experience are somehow my own fault or me being silly or something. It's hard to explain, but this helped somehow. Thank you. oxox

I think I get you... I used go through phases of questioning myself, my pain tolerance etc and just thought I should suck it up and stop complaining...but now at least I have no guilt or shame...glad it helped in some way. It's a pretty f*cked up condition😒😒😒

Ah, this is so helpful! Going to show it to some of my friends and family members. The last one is especially imoportant for me I think. I don't have the same energy as everyone else to stay out all night and the ability and acceptance to go home has always been such a relief to me at those times!

Yayy! I'm glad. Wouldn't it be great if we lived in the same country and could go partying together?! Guarantee we would become so in sync with eachother. #FibroFriends Te he he he😂

wow u are a godsend, only stumbled over yr videos this morning(been up since 3) and it just makes such a difference to sit and listen to someone who is experiencing what i am.
i was diagnosed 6 yrs ago at the age of 32 after a brain operation and my life changed completely, i must add i have a very loving and supporting family that "try"to understand my condition but never fully will unless they experience it (which i hope they never have to), so its refreshing to me to hear someone who completely understands all that this "life sentence" disorder does to a person.
thankyou and keep up the great work.xx

You're definitely spreading awareness, and even more importantly, you're enabling empathy: even though this video talks about what friends and family can do, it also makes people appreciate what the fm sufferer must be going through in order to need this kind of consideration. ...
P.S. Again, it's great to see your positively energetic presentations demonstrate how you're overcoming the burdens yourself--it must be absolutely inspiring to those who are earlier on the path to health.

Thats spot on we want empathy not sympathy which I think quite alot of people think we want.

Can you please please please make a video about your experience getting diagnosed? I've been chasing a diagnosis for 3 years now, only just learned about fibro recently and (I swear I'm not just looking for any problem to hold on to) feel I've found my next conversation with a doctor (once i get my health insurance back in 2 long months. I've felt so many times in the past that no one believes me when I've said this overall pain and fatigue is not from lack of self care or perseverenece. I would appreciate it ever so much. -Kelsey

hey kelsey!dont worry AT ALL i believe you and your horrible experience of pain & fatigue. im not sure a video on that will float but i will DEFINITELY consider it. i was lucky because a pain specialist i saw was excellent. my advice would be to see a *specialist* (rheumatologist/pain specialist) not a normal doctor. dont be put off if you find someone who doesnt seem convinced of fibromyalgia as most doctors would be. you still get the odd specialist who isn't up to date at all.

honestly im not positive the whole time - pain wear u down no matter what. (u obvs know that). bu i promise that u will get to a point where the better days are sooooo much more meaningful and u appreciate doing really simple things when u arent in such bad pain. hang in there and try to be kind to yourself. i know the whole weight thing in itself can be hard....xoxox

shahilagh 😞😞😞I’m so sorry you think that. I do agree that it’s like that for the majority of people...but the people closest to those suffering should care enough,if they truly love you. And then there ARE rare people who would do this for anybody who they know is suffering. I know I would, I truly would
