Thank you! They wanted to charge 80 dollars or so at the dealer. As a single woman, I don’t have all the skills needed to do everything, but this was super easy!
Glad I could help
$80! Thanks for the video Jim. Replaced my cabin and engine ones for a grand total of about $42 👍🏻
Finally some who shows exactly how to do perform a maintenance operation on a vehicle. Nothing left to your imagination. No babbling on. Jim gets right to the point and tells you exactly what you need to know. Excellent video taping of the procedure. Thanks Mr. Jim., Bryan
Thanks for the nice comment Bryan
Best video on changing a Honda CRV air filter out there. You can't go wrong with this one, nice straight forward. I am a 73 year old woman & following this it only took me about 2-3 minutes. Thank you so much :D
Glad I could help thanks for leaving a comment
@@DIYJIM Other videos fail to mention or show the 2 locking tabs that you need to slide the cover in/out of on the right side of the filter cover to free it so you can raise the cover up enough to replace the filter. If you don't slide the cover to the left as you showed, the tabs won't allow you to raise up the cover. Also, when putting the cover back in place, if you don't align tabs up to slide the cover in place, it won't seat properly & you can't close the cover all the way. I really struggled with that part of the installation until I saw your video-then easy peasy! Thanks again!
Thank you! A 58-year-old woman just changed her own air filter on a Honda CRV. You’re my hero today
Glad I could help

Great video. straight to the point, mentions critical aspects and goes through steps quickly.

Im a 65 year old single woman on very low fixed income. You are such a blessing with zoom in on all clips etc. Unfortunately they sold me the wrong one a little too long. But thanks to you I can do it again witj the rigjt size!

Thanks Jim! Another video I watched showed only the two front clips and I couldn't open the housing to get to the filter. You show that there are three clips. That shows who knows what he is doing.

I had trouble getting air filter housing back tight on new filter. I removed intake hose first (takes a couple minutes with small socket to loosen clamp), then it fit very easily. Thanks for the video.

Thank you :), I should have watched this video earlier. I spent $64.95 (labor: $27; Parts: $37.95) for getting this changed in Honda Service center. Similarly I spent another $79.95 (Labor: $45; Parts: $39.95) for replacing Cabin Air Filter at Honda Service center.
$80 for cabin air filter? 😮
Holy smokes that's crazy. Hope this saves you some money next time.
Thank you so much!

thank you
It wasn't as easy for me as it was for you. I had a heck of a time getting the cover off enough to put the new filter in. Part of the steering mechanism--sorry, I'm not mechanical and don't know what it's called--is in the way and doesn't allow the cover to lift off enough to remove the old filter. But I could see that the old filter was still clean so I didn't need to change it anyway. However, getting the filter back into the housing was another challenge. I'm thinking that when I actually do need to change the filter I'll disconnect the cover from the hose which will allow me to move it more freely.
Sounds like you have a plan for next time. Hope my video helped you. Thanks for watching
@@DIYJIM Yes, thanks to your video I know where the clips and tabs are located. I'm confident that if I loosen the hose clamp and disconnect the hose that I can work the cover off and access the filter. 👍
This is a very helpfully video. I’ll just say it’s a little more difficult than it’s made to look which is why oil change places don’t like to do it. First, your hands are going to get very dirty. Second it’s a little tricky wrestling the filter in and out of the housing. Be careful not to get too much grime on the filter when you install it. Finally, getting the housing re-seated so the clips fasten back on is a minor ordeal. It’s definitely doable in under 30 min but there’s a reason your oil change place doesn’t want to do it.
Thanks for watching, hope I did help you.
It only took me 10 mins max, start to finish... more like 5. The oil change shops charge at least $40 labor for something so basic. They actually LOVE simple jobs like this that the average person is too lazy to do or because they're afraid of getting their nails dirty.
Good job body
thank you, glad to help
Someone said we’d better clean the MAF sensor when we change the air filter. Is it necessary? TIA.
I never did, you can look this up here on CZcams I'm sure it is easy.
I know that this might be obvious to most folks, but there are two air filters you change out in your car.
One is the engine air filter, which you showed in this video. Typically located by the battery.
The other one is the cabin air filter. Typically located inside the car. You just drop your glovebox towards the floor, open up the air filter compartment (might need to unhook a couple clips), and change out your filter with a fresh one when it's time. Assuming you're using disposable air filters.
They do sell reusable air filters. K&N is a popular brand. Instead of chucking the disposable and putting another disposable in, reusable air filters just need to be taken out and washed/cleaned. Typically with a garden hose.
I've used K&N filters in the past, but honestly, it's just so much quicker to buy a disposable once a year and swap it out with the soiled one.
Thanks for watching and for the long comment
@@DIYJIM You did an excellent job explaining how it's done, by the way. 🙂
Always enjoy your videos. Professional, not too lengthy, and very informative. 👍🏻
Great video, but no Fram filters for me, especially oil filters. Terrible quality.
I agree I do not use them anymore. Thanks for watching
where and how change fuel filter honda cr-v 2013 thanks.....
Maybe I will make a video on this
Probably inside the fuel tank.
If you purchase the filters at Walmart they will install it free.
Super Walmart, not at the Walmart I shop at near me they do not have a Garage. But that is good to know thanks for the tip
Jiffy Lube wanted $60 for this 😒
Glad I could help save you some money
Poor air filter design imho
