    Broad spectrum preservative means it is effective against bacteria, mould and yeast.
    🍀Bacteria
    Although many bacteria that come into contact with the skin are made harmless, some of them can cause irritation and infection on the skin and even in the eyes.
    🍀Mould
    Mould is a type of fungus that is found in spoiled food. It is similar on cosmetics that have not been properly preserved or stored.
    🍀Yeast
    Certain yeasts are known to cause spoilage in the food industry, and the same is true for yeasts in cosmetics.
    🍀When choosing your broad-spectrum preservative, you should also consider the pH value. Some preservatives are only effective when the pH of the product is acidic, others are effective at neutral pH and others at alkaline pH. There are also preservatives that are effective in a wide pH range, such as Liquid Germall Plus, Leucidal SF Max, Geogard 221(also known as costard) just to name a few
    🍀The pH of the rice cream should be between 5 and 5.5.

    I know y’all want it so here it is;
    Steps:
    Two cups rice
    Wash with warm water until looks clear
    After washing rice, leave in lukewarm water for 5 hours
    Then drain the water
    Put rice into blender or food processor
    Add lukewarm water. Not hot
    Blend, the finer the better
    Filter the blended mixture
    First through a strainer
    Then through a cheese cloth
    Pour filtered rice into transparent cup
    Leave it in cup until water separates from starch After five hours usually
    Gently remove the water
    Pour starch on parchment paper
    Sun dry it
    The rice starch should be dry
    Blend into fine powder
    Prepare cream;
    5 tablespoons of aloe Vera gel
    1 tablespoon of rice starch
    Mix til they blend well; no clumps
    Once smooth, add rest of ingredients
    Add 1 tablespoon of rice germ oil; or 2 if you have dry skin
    Or substitute for whatever oil you want as long as it doesn’t clog pores
    Add one gram of vitamin e Oil
    Can be stored for three weeks at room temp.
    Add broad spectrum preservative for longer shelf life
    Put in clean sterilized container
    Use daily

      If it's supposed to be a basic moisturizer, it should be fine to use sunscreen on top of it and then your makeup. I would think shelf life would be around a week, give or take a few days. I'd refrigerate it. You could also use a "broad spectrum preservative" like she mentioned. Research how to take the pH of your cream and research a preservative that will cover that pH level. The LORD bless you.

    Doesn’t the oil eventually separate/chunk up since there is no emulsifier for the aloe gel (water content) and oil? I made one of your other recipes with aloe gel and oil and it curdled. How are you getting a stable emulsion? Thanks for your help! Your videos are very soothing!

    • @cecilvig
      @cecilvig  Před rokem +10

      Dear, thank you for your comment. When you mix oil and store-bought aloe vera gel, they combine. You just need to add the right quantity of both ingredients
      If they separate, there is a possibility that you didn't add enough aloe vera gel.
      Since each brand of store-bought aloe vera gel has a different consistency and different ingredients, you may need more or less in your formulation than what is shown in the video.

    Hey Cecil if we made hommade DIY products at home how to preserve them for long I mean which preservatives should we use to avoid fungus and bad smell ....?

    • @cecilvig
      @cecilvig  Před rokem +2

      You need a broad spectrum preservative.
      It will preserve your cream from mould, fungi and yeast. Examples of broad spectrum preservatives are: Liquid germal plus, Euxyl 9010 and geogard 221
      It is important to always check the pH of your product and make sure the preservative you decide to use, covers the pH range of your product.
      God Bless You!

      The best is to use cosmetic grade rice starch, but if you cannot lay your hands on it, you can use non glutinous rice flour. Glutinous rice starch can get very sticky.
