What specs and features make a great gaming laptop that is also good for photo and video editing? There are now a variety of options to choose from when considering a gaming laptop. Some important features or specifications to consider are: color accuracy, portability, and power.
The latter two come fairly easy to most gaming laptop, but the first items is harder to come by. These gaming laptops will be able to run programs such as Photoshop, DaVinci Resolve and After Effects.

Each Category is capable of a specific amount of power and application capabilities. For instance, some of the laptops in the entry-level video and phot editing category will be able to perform well in Photoshop and Illustrator and even some solid 1080p video editing, but may struggle with larger 4k projects..
Another aspect of improving performance is the presence of a dedicated GPU. When gaming this is basically essential, during photo editing, not so much, but during video editing it is essential as well.

@@aquaverticordia unfortunately the motherboard got fried after a year of use, most likely from enduring power surges while living in a 3rd world country. I replaced it with an MSI Stealth 15M and have to say I’m infinitely happier with it than I was with the Aero mostly due to terrible gigabyte software. Even after tons of driver updates it just never ran as smooth as I wanted it to. Hope this helps

Hey there BEN, great content, I would like to take your advice on my new Laptop upgrade; I use it mainly for 3d rendering and CAD work also animation not to a great extent. I also work on gigs for clients doing photoshop Manipulating and after effects and I think this two falls under video and graphic editing. Now Im looking at the Lenovo thinkpad p17 specs are
    Intel i9980hk 8 core Cpu
    Quadro rtx 5000 16gb vram
    128gb ddr4 ram
    4K res 400 knits screen
    Color by Pantone
It’s very expensive I was quoted almost 11k with all the sales and holiday stuff really priced at or close to 7k. Now what’s your opinion and advice which laptop that’s close or similar or even has a lesser power but performs close to the thinkpad p17 laptop maybe cheaper and looks better Lenovo’s looks outdated

Hey Ben, great vids. I'm now in the market for a new video editing laptop and found your vids have been very informative. I'm also new to your channel. Liking them so far. After watching some of your videos, if I may sum up, is it correct to say that for people that do lots of multi tasking with multiple apps running, best to go for ryzen? I'm mostly be on davinci resolve than any other apps, and from your comparisons, looks like tuf a15 is the way to go, correct? (from performance only). Here in UK, I can get gigabyte aero 15 with 32GB ram but it only comes with Intel as you are aware. In short, I'm still not sure which best Ryzen laptop I should go for(assuming that it is best for me to go with amd given my main use would be davinci resolve). Your input be much appreciated. Thanks

Very surprised there in no mention of the Acer predator helios 700 with a i9 9980-hk with 32 gigs of ram for 2700$ and can handle up to 64 gigs of ram. And most important he thermals keep it cool and not thermal throttle under heavy work loads. And they are finally coming down in price .

Watching one of your video on a PC build and one of LTTs as well, I went ahead and assembled a PC (again after almost 10 years) 😂
