I am proud that as a community we have taught the fish to Synchro summon, the birds to tribute summon, the flwuffy boys to xyz summon, the furries to link summon, the illusions to fusion summon and the food to ritual summon. I only hope that one day we can teach the reptiles to do anything!

I played Ghoti and can confirm that tribute summon D. Shifter is a play that you sometimes need to do because you need a six star monster.
I made Tearlaments and turned out I sucked with them so I made Ghoti instead. Turns out I suck with them too.
I wish she more Yu-Gi-Oh players were this self aware.

@@jakeisdadambest I have good news and bad news. Good news: if you lose with snake pile in tear format, it does not mean that you suck. Bad news: you will lose almost every game with snake pile in tear format and it’ll almost certainly make you feel like you suck.
@@ct1296 Oh no worries there, snake pile is solo mode only. I like making new decks and playing them but I'm under no illusions that snake pile will beat any of the tiered decks.

Hi professional fish expert here. This list needs help, evenly matched is much better than shifter since its bad for all your fish to get banished. You should run the supay package and more copies of the tuners. Piri reis map is not worth paying half your life points esp since tuna is the most fragile opener. You should run silent angler at least at one to search with the abyss sharks. I hope you try fish again :)

"One negate lose that's it?" Legit though that's so many rogue decks it really shouldn't be too surprising. The ability to play through the first negate of something important is one of the defining traits that separates decks into different tiers.
Yea sadly ghoti is incredibly normal summon reliant so we just gotta deal with it, if ghoti got like a mathmech circular it would make the deck wayyy better.

The deck being unbelievably close is the perfect description. It legit feels like 1 or 2 decent cards from being really good
This duel conforms with my anecdotal experience of how Ghoti plays. It requires multiple turns of the opponent doing basically nothing to accomplish anything.
I guess I’m incredibly less lucky then most people because THEY have success with this deck but when I use it impers up the ass

Ghoti is the deck that got me back into yugioh, its so much fun to play. The most fun, skill intensive game ive ever played was a ghoti mirror match. All our removal was super double sided, because banishing your opponent's cards gave them value. Also it was nice not needing to pause to let your opponent read the cards
Now teach Sadie to Xyz Summon so she can play Purrle.
Ghoti is one of my favorite new decks, I’ve been playing it in the tcg since they were released and I think they’re insanely fun
I do enjoy the space fish deck. I"ve been having lots of fun with it as well.

Perhaps I'm missing something, but why wasn't the normal summon paces, banish to summon leaf? Feels like the play that sets the most potential up for later in the duel. Fortunately, that grind ended up making it not matter much one way or the other.
To teach the fish how to synchro summon, you must learn to synchro summon yourself.
Yep. Even if Paces gets negated like in that duel, you still got the leaf on hand for next turn... If you survive.
@@CardamomYGO that was my thought. He might even have slipped Paces by. People tend to wait for effect activations to droplets, and he banished himself for cost, so in a best case scenario you end with paces banished and a leaf negated by droplets on-board. Opponent would have to waste his second droplets on his own turn to stop synchro shenanigans.
Even if he had the foresight to know he HAD to chain droplets to Paces’ normal summon, well… you can still banish it to no effect, and bring it back next turn in defense position, so it’s not any worse than summoning Leaf.
Honestly, the last couple duels were the most beautiful I have seen Yu-Gi-Oh in a while.
I’ve been having a lot of fun running melffy with them. They seem to add a fair bit of consistency to the fish.
I played against Ghoti the other day on MD. Felt really bad when the used Beyond and my follow up was Normal Summon Inspector Boarder…

Ghoti being a TCG exclusive but having access to the OCG banlist could genuinely open up new options for play. No idea what that would be, but I’m not a fish expert. But if this is a format where crystal beast can top MCS’s I have faith someone will figure some crazy shit out

Ngl...MBT's build isn't too bad. Big fan of the low-count of Ghoti Tuners, although I'd personally play 1 more Shif. Eschewing the Supay package is definitely for the best; the deck can't really afford to be discarding cards. Similar thing for Deepest Depths too.
Beautunaful is a good card, but I personally prefer Mermaid Shark instead; she serves a similar role (1-card starter), but she searches all your Level 4 Fish, as well as Abyss Shark, and doesn't sting as much when she is Ashed.

You should try playing supay. It makes arionpost turn 1 without you ns, so if you also have any of the tuners (probably 3 and 2 ofs) you can make crystal wing along with the full setup

At 2:02 you shouldn’t have made Leaffish. You should have normal Paces. Then use paces to banish itself to make Leaffish and then attempt the send. It’s just a free paces banish

What's the decklist? I used to play Fish in 2011, and then switched to Lancer Frogs for 2013. Left the game, but came back to Master Duel to play Frogs with Toad but once Toad was banned I didn't want to play anymore. However a Fish deck based on the Ghoti wordplay? I'm here for it!

Fish was able to do the most hand looping bs i ever seen to eventually beat Scareclaw and then it just lost to DM. Considering DM is the only viable deck i run that gives me hope
