Adam Savage's One Day Builds: Iron Man Armor Boots!

  • Adam's next big costume project is a return to his build-up of his Iron Man Mark 1 armor! Previously, Adam reworked the costume's chest chassis and shoulder parts, and today he's tackling the legs and boots of the suit. Even though the castings are a good foundation to work off of, it's going to take a lot of modification and scratch building to get the armor ready for wear. Next up will be painting the whole thing!

What an awesome modification for the Mk1 suit! Watching this build is inspiring me to get back to work on some of the costume projects I have on the back burner. Just two things that came to mind while watching you put it all together: 1. It would be cool to see you add a gear mechanism to the belt and pulleys on the thighs, so that they move when you bend your knees. 2. I would advise adding a hinge onto the codpiece and butt-flap so they are able to move with you, makes it easier when bending down/crouching so they pieces do not dig in to your flesh.

If I could come close to 5 meters of Adam Savage, I'd be blessed.

Got me wanting to watch Iron man again now 😁 if it wasn’t so impractical, I’m sure Adam would wear that round the shop all the time

I love the *Bandsaw Noises*, maybe you should have a "guess the tool" competition to see who can guess the tool based on its sound :-)
