- I describe myself as being a "bit salty" about the McFarlane Toys DC Multiverse line at the moment, and I've reached the point of asking the question: is it time I stop collecting them?
In this vid I'll share my thoughts, give my reasons for the salt at the moment, and just generally share my sadness with the MoDXtra viewing community!

But seriously, it's only a line I dip into to get characters I really want but it's hard work. Despite ordering as soon as they went up my DKT trilogy figures were cancelled so I ended up over-paying & I've missed out on a few others I wanted - mulitverse & 66.
I'll hang in there whilst he's doing the BTAS re-issues & there's the off-chance of getting Nicholson Joker, Returns Catwoman & Penguin plus a comic Ivy, Huntress, Zatanna and Hawk-Girl but that's about it.
I'll be interested to see what you say about WW, I cancelled my pre-order, probably going to stick with the movie version.
You're not the only individual I've heard had their DKT figs cancelled, and I'm pretty sure that I saw out and about the Batman Forever wave was tough to get a hold of too.
I mentioned the female characters in the vid - they would tempt me, but as you say I'm concerned it would just be "hard work" for us over here.
I'll get the Wonder Woman review recorded soon. I like to take my time and have a good "play & display" with the figures before I record so its good and thorough. :)
Great Video and I’m thinking of doing the same thing. The freaking struggle to get his figures based off of DC Classic figures is crazy
It just takes the fun out of it, doesn’t it? As I say - I’m keeping my pre-orders (except maybe the Christmas Batman) and then will re-assess. But it’s looking pretty conclusive right now…
I dont bother with the multiverse side of things but I do love those Batman 66 figures. Never had a problem getting ahold of the 66 line at all, reasonably priced, scales nicely with the Hasbro 6" lines and just look great. Although the vehicles and playsets are in no way the proper scale.
I went off of the multiverse stuff really early because Todd was just releasing numerous batman versions on a weekly basis. Remember the comic book crash in the early 90's? How every major comic hero had numerous cover versions for single issues? Dubbed "collector issues". Thats what Todd is doing with the multiverse line. Oh hey btw Todd was a major player in the comic book crash of the 90's
Oh yeah - I remember it well. I've got some long boxes full of gimmick cover first issues that teenage Chris thought he was speculating LOL I think its fair to say Todd approaches his figure marketing in a similar way: "Gold Label", "Collector's Edition", "Platinum Edition", "Black & White Limited Edition", even a "Black Light Edition" LOL Its lenticulars and Chromes and hologram covers all over again!
You hit the nail on the head Todd “The Odd” Mcfarlane has a homoerotic love for Batman but it’s at the expense of other cool figures smh. It’s getting out of hand if you ask me
Sorry to hear your frustration, man. I love DC Comics but i rarely see figures from that universe that i want to pick up. They just don't look great; it's to the point I bought the Marvel Legends Power Princess just because she was such a good Wonder Woman stand in.
I saw a great custom Wonder Woman knocking around on Instagram using the Power Princess as the base - it looked really awesome! Far better than the McFarlane Wonder Woman!
Still... life's too short. I got the frustrations out, I'm going to see through my current pre-orders, then hope for another day with a new keeper of the DC action fig license (in my price range LOL)

He'd have to take a break from Batman's to consider it. Deep cuts like those I think you're right to suspect you'll never see :(
I only collect if I'm interested in the character or if I think it's an action figure that I will enjoy posing and messing around with. Todd's already made my wishlist with Knight fall Batman, Bane, killer croc, Swamp thing and the 89 batmobile. If I don't have the nostalgia or love of character I'm usually put off of multiverse by the figs limited articulation or the inhuman proportions. Now with something like classified it's generally just the figure itself that captures my attention because of my limited exposure to the franchise as a kid (my pal had a few toys like sarge, snake eyes and roadblock), but I'm still hundreds of figures into the line because they pose great and look great. Todd could probably get more of my money by putting in more effort and that's the same with marvel legends.
Sounds like we're of a like mind on this. (Other than the fact I was in deep with GI Joe for a time there in the 80s)
Its funny you should mention Marvel Legends too. I broadly only collect X-Men related stuff but have found myself less enamoured with the line as they don't seem to evolve or modernise at a great pace. Classified has a lot to account for I suppose as its raised my expectations for figures at that budget level LOL

Yes.....yes it is.......DC stuff I tend to lean towards Mafex......now in truth I'm not a huge DC fan but I love the Mafex stuff I have and they scale with most of my other 6" scale stuff
Aw man - I wish I had the budget to go with Mafex DC Comics stuff, because you're right: they are better looking figures. The Return of Superman figures caught my eye - looked awesome, but I just couldn't afford them. :(
@@MoDXtraGC they are a bit ridiculous price wise and really most of mine were picked up locally lightly used or previously loved .....I did just treat myself and ordered the Magneto figure new though off ebay from Japan for about half of what he would have cost through my local store ....should be here Monday and ...........Im a little gity.....😂 but I just can't help myself and the Mcfarlane figures just don't work for me but again there are only a few characters from DC that I really consider essentials.....either way as always love your content thanks for the continued entertainment Chris

@@MoDXtraGC I guess in the UK you got a pretty good chance of getting some of the gold label figures, but in my country it's pretty much impossible. For every figure I'm paying a megafig prices because of the shipping and import taxes. With this price increase I'm paying about 40-43 euro's for a regular release figure and that's just too much. Lately the quality of Mcfarlane figures is sooo bad that I can't justify paying so much for something that I'm not happy about. Just gonna go back to Neca and joytoy warhammer figures. Keep the vids coming I'll still watch you Mcfarlane figure reviews.😁
All those figures are probably expensive because it heard Todd McFarland's terrible with money. buys the most random things burns through money faster than he's getting it in
