    Appreciate the comparison. Very helpful

  • @BeautifuLakesStreamsBiologists

    The medium will fly as a carry on if you crunch it down with the compression straps first. If the airline is a stickler, you can use the shoulder straps to shorten the length. International flights have tighter restrictions, so be aware.

    Thanks from keeping from buying a large bag. Going from Small to medium too.

    Really appreciate this , thanks.The longer hand straps on the medium are a plus point for me.Is the medium okay as an aircraft cabin bag ?

      @VideoGizmology  Před 4 lety +1

      I'm not sure. It's very large and if you fill it up, I don't think it'll fit in the overhead. This is a check-in bag to me.

      I was looking for a carry-on bag as well and I’ve heard the small one is suitable for it

      The small one is perfect for carry on. Spacious and can fit over head. The medium would be too big

      if you don't fill it fully, it might work as a cabin bag. it's a bit of a gamble, i've flown with it this way, and there are reports of others as well. if it isn't fully packed it does fit far better into overhead compartments then smaller suitcases, because it isn't rigid, so it fills space far better. that's also what i love about it when stowing in a car: it does take significant less space than a similar sized suitcase, and also as a similar sized backpack (due to the usualy spacious hip belt).

    buena comparación.

    Does the handle (the one with Velcro) get in the way of the shoulder straps when you’re using it as a backpack? Surely you’d feel it against your back?

    • @VideoGizmology
      @VideoGizmology  Před 4 lety

      For me it doesn't, but I rarely use the medium size as a backpack. Too big and uncomfortable for me.

    Is the medium eligible for airplane baggage inside the plane?

      No for size M. 45litre max. Size S maybe.

      Yes, I simply strap mine down so it fits. Use the compression straps first, then if you really have to , the shoulder straps can shorten the bag. I've not had to do that part.

    Does the surface on these get scuffed up or damaged from scrapes etc?

    • @VideoGizmology
      @VideoGizmology  Před 4 lety

      The bags will show visible scrapes if you are rough with them outdoors, but I haven't taken them outdoors yet, so they seem to hold up with general road and plane travel from hotel room to hotel room.

      My oldest TNF duffel is ~15yo, large size. Travelled in over 30 flights, rolled down a mountain side, used it as base camp cargo bag, strapped it to mules, etc. Looks like crap, but has never failed. But it definitely shows the use with visible marks from its first use.

    • @BeautifuLakesStreamsBiologists
      @BeautifuLakesStreamsBiologists Před rokem

      If you use one of the larger bags and check it on the plane, the machines and handlers will do their best to mess it up. I keep one extra large just for air travel since they beat it up the first trip.

    does the medium fit as a carry on?

    • @VideoGizmology
      @VideoGizmology  Před 4 lety

      I don't think so, it seems too large to me, but you should check your airline carry on rules.

    Can you take both full bags on as carry on on an airplane? (separate times)

    • @VideoGizmology
      @VideoGizmology  Před 4 lety +1

      The small, yes. The medium, I'm not sure. It's very large when you pack it. You'll have to check with your specific airline, but I would say it's too big for carry on.

    • @VideoGizmology
      @VideoGizmology  Před 4 lety +1

      I think so, you can buy a shoulder strap and use D-rings to lock them to the side handles.
