A Vintage and Non-Traditional Wedding | Kristy & Charles's Film

Kristy and Charles insisted from our very first meeting that they weren’t a “traditional couple” and their wedding wouldn’t be traditional. That right there was music to our ears and they were not lying. From their music taste to colour choices, they are not willing to stray off the ordinary path and we are here for it. Kristy was first drawn to Charles by a video of him singing along to Reggae music and this could not be a better illustration of their relationship. They are always singing and goofing off together and really do bring out the silly in each other. Kristy and Charles share a love of animals and adventure and got engaged in Prince Edward Island in 2019. In 2020 they bought a property in Nova Scotia and moved to the East Coast with big ambitions.
Returning to Ontario to be with their family and friends for their wedding after nearly a year of isolation and settling into their new home out East made for quite the celebration! Everyone was pumped to be together, although a few key people were still missing. The day was full of laughter, connection, and a ton of joy. When the dance finally came at the end of the night, everyone was primed to move and celebrate together.
Now, it is no easy task to plan a wedding from provinces away. They had never seen their bridesmaids dresses together in person, and somehow the colours matched perfectly. Charles’ suit nearly didn’t make it in time because of shipping delays and necessary fitting adjustments. They gathered decor over time and hoped it would all come together and damn, did it ever. The colours, the textures, and the atmosphere flowed together like it was put together by a professional. And according to Kristy’s bridesmaids, that’s kind of how it is. Kristy has always had an eye for style and pulling together a look, and this day was no exception. Getting married on their family property with a view of the golden soy fields and their puppy roaming a property they were already familiar with, made it feel sentimental and important.
We adored this day and all the people and details that came along with it. Kristy and Charles planned a stunning day to kick off their marriage and future adventures together and it was exactly the start you’d picture for them. Congratulations to you both. We wish you a lifetime of success, happiness, and shared experiences. You’ve got this!
