Crying tears of joy 🥲 This might be the best Moto device ever
-----
Motorla Moto G Stylus (2024) via Amazon: geni.us/Stylus-2024
The moto edge series is the best they bring to usa
This phone or the Samsung A25 5G ??
I am glad to see Motorola make meaningful changes to this phone. I really think they have done a great job with this one.
I just got the 2023 5g one and I love it so far. I can't agree with you saying it was bad. It's super fast for me and the battery is insanely good. I'm at 11 percent battery almost 24 hrs after a full charge. I love it.
I’m glad you like it! I’ve used & reviewed every Moto Stylus since 2019, so I continue to compare & contrast year after year. That’s what I base my good/bad opinion on. As a standalone device, any of the Styluses have been decent. But I always like to explain the differences as people upgrade
@@TechDailyyou need to definitely use Motorola high end phones before taling about the OLED
@TechDaily The new stylus seems like a great improvement over previous models. My main complaints with the 2019 stylus were the removal of dual speakers in the 2020 version and the use of weak processors like the Snapdragon 4805g. And mediocre display panel as far as one year of OS support I still think the stylus device can last for years without another update coming in the future
@@chriswright8074why do you say that?
@@SirDedrick because the moto edge series have way better panels and gets up to 144hz
HE DID IT HE FINALLY UNBOXED IT🎉🎉
I’m a little behind 😅 Finally catching up!
@@TechDailycan you also do edge plus and edge 2024
This literally could be the flagship with a more current chipset
I wish they had at least upgraded to the latest generation of the SD 6.
This phone doesn't need a newer cpu.
It works just fine!
And the reason the stylus works MUCH BETTER than last year is Cuz of the new gpu and the faster Ram (last year's was DDR4 and around 20 something mhz this years is DDR5 and 3200mhz)
When it comes to updates once your phone is running smooth you really don’t care about anymore updates. I mean the average person is not a techno geek and may not even know what terms like refresh rate, ram, and storage specs mean. For them as long as the phone performs . Most people are happy as long as the phone does everything they need to and doesn’t inconvenience them by being slow or freezing. From what I myself have personally experienced 70 to 80% of the population are technically technically ignorant of the performance capabilities of the phone they currently have let alone the new models that come out. It’s people like me who watch your videos learn the terminology and see the advantages that certain features bring that start drooling at the mouth at the thought of owning them lol.I was a little surprised when I saw that there were still people out there using iPhone 7 and such and still quite happy as long as they get the job done this was a great video and you have a friend in Columbus Ohio!
Bro I just reviewed this and I was shocked. I put my T-mobile Sim in it after "porting a line to Metro" and it not only worked but installed T-Mobile Mobile software. So as a T-Mobile user I got this phone free and just paid for one month of Metro service that I won't use. And I paid $15 for a phone number to port from eBay. This phone is so good that even as a flagship user I don't want to switch. It's crazy. It feels blazing fast too. Way faster than last year even with the same chip. My only knock is that we don't get the red at Metro or prepaid carriers. The red looks so good
Which is more gay the a54 or this?
@@MrCool144
This red one definitely.
😍 This phone looks AMAZING! I've been rocking the México 2021 model for these last few years and it's always served me well and I love it for that but this would be a MASSIVE upgrade for me. I might have to get it at some point this year and sell this one, even though I don't really NEED the upgrade or a stylus phone anymore because I have an awesome Samsung Galaxy tablet now that has a stylus. But I just love stylus phones, I had an LG Stylo before this one and that's what made me fall in love with them. I also just don't need to drop a grand on a flagship, I find that ridiculous. Anyway, long comment, but every year I check out your videos (and maybe one or two others to see if the model we get here has any important differences to the US ones) to see what the new model brings because it just fascinates me. I love phones and tech in general. Like always, it's a killer review! Good job.
I can clearly see you are very impressed and tells me a lot. Great review as always.
One complaint that I have is the stylus is not dynamic/adaptive. Would be nice to answer the phone with the stylus lol. I wonder what company will be the 1st to offer a matching stylus watch!
You can't do that with a galaxy ultra so why would you think that a "budget" version be able to do it, 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@PhillipLemmon are you stupid or are you dumb? I guess just pick the one that suits your personality
I have purchased all Moto G Stylus 5G phones since 2022. The 2024 one is a huge upgrade over the previous models. The 6.7 2024 is physically smaller than the 6.8 in the 2022 in the external dimensions, whilst maintaining near identical actual display real estate because of the much smaller bezels in the 2024 model. The OLED is absolutely gorgeous. I don't care for the color though. This should've been black.
I buy Moto G's happily knowing I will get only one OS upgrade. I like getting a new phone every year and I won't buy the extended warranty. I sell the old one or gift it to anyone who wants it. I have had prepaid Moto's for about 5 years straight, swearing off Samsung. I started doing that when I got a G Power years ago when it came with the 5000mah battery and was so happy with huge screen and endless inexpensive case options. I use prepay phones for affordability and the lack of a papertrail. I have not paid over $200 for a Moto and thats where Moto's value and features are good enough I am not tempted to pay more for another brand with OS updates: I just buy a new Moto and start fresh!
dose it have plam rejection ? Thank you
You mentioned your disappointment with the complete lack of long term software support, and I completely agree with you. I work in mobile sales at a best buy which makes me intimately familiar with all these devices. I have trouble recommending motorola as a brand because of this exact reason. While my customers may not always understand the importance of smartphone sustainability, I can at least do my part and recommend longer supported devices at mid range price points such as the Galaxy a35, or Pixel 8a. Even a preowned iPhone 12 will be supported longer than a modern moto device, and that's just sad...
-----------------------------
Conspiracy time
-----------------------------
Absolutely correct me if I sound ridiculous but...
I think motorola fails to support their devices for so long is because they really do see their phones as completely disposable to the consumer. Motorola doesnt have the benefit of other devices in their company's mobile ecosystem to prop them up inbetween device upgrades. The average moto consumer is not gonna get a moto watch, or moto earbuds, or a moto tablet, or a moto bluetooth tracker, or moto cloud storage and so on. Motorola has the sale of this device and thats it. If they make the device "feel" and look obsolete sooner, the custoemr is going to upgrade to the shinier new phone with all the cool new android features much sooner.
Meanwhile samsung can trust that if you buy a $400 Galaxy A35, they xan probably get you on a watch later, and then some buds, all the while you never felt the need to upgrade your phone because its felt current for 4 years.
Anyway. Thats my ted talk.
No black variant? I don't care for either of these colors. At least the stylus housing is on the correct side of the phone
I know. What's up with them and the colors ?!
Yay Motorola!!! I have a Moto g stylus 2022 and it is starting to show it's age, but still a damn good phone! I love the big screen, 6.8".
I actually changed from the 2022 version to this one, still testing the performances and it's great so far
Wade, I love your reviews! Keep up the good work!
I'm not sure if it's just me, but i was given the option to uncheck/not install all of the additional bloatware apps during the initial setup process while i was transferring data between my old G Stylus 2022 and this new one. The only bloatware app that survived was facebook, but that was easy to uninstall. From a phone standpoint, i have been very impressed with the 2024 Moto G Stylus so far, and consider it a worthy upgrade from my 2022 model, definitely the best phone from Motorola i've used in years.
I have no idea why I wasn’t presented with the app selection/install page - I had it on the 2024 G 5G & the Power, but those didn’t have the same startup/splash screen as this Stylus out of the box. Maybe a software difference? But I agree - a big upgrade for sure!
Great review, thank you very much. I am setting up my device as I watch.
How’s the audio quality from the jack?
Does this newer version of the moto s
G Stylus support screen mirroring or smart view which is what Samsung calls it. And no it is not the same as Chrome Cast. It may use the same principles but does not require a wifi router to be needed.
I hope you would show us if you can take a note with the screen off and then if you can use this note as a reminder with the screen still being off, something you can't do in Samsung note devices yet
You acted like they cut down 679 trees to make that tiny box bro chill, lordy!!
Then how about this? *_One turtle death_*
Commendable he cares enough. Why be judgmental when it impacts you in a positive way as well?
Did metro provide any info on how to use dual SIM and eSIM simultaneously?
Motorola could have chosen a better processor like a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1, but instead they used the same 6 Gen 1 processor from the 2023 model.
I think they have to make some compromises to keep costs low. Id rather have the new, better display personally.
Looks really good thanks for doing the review I'm going to wait for a sale which you knew will come sooner or later and yeah when you buy Motorola you know updates aren't their deal so if you buy one you just have to take that into account that you might get one and it will come really late and then security updates also come really slow so if you can stomach that then the hardware on the Motorola's are really nice at least this one is
Very nice review and this does look like one of Motorola's better devices! Just out of personal curiosity, I decided to look into this whole fingerprint sensor thing to see how important it is for the sensor to be instantaneous when touched, or if that millisecond or so takes away from one's experience! I ended up asking 50 people (mostly friends & family members with a handful of total strangers included) and not ONE single person has an interest or even cares if the fingerprint sensor is instantaneous or not! Three or four of the people even went so far as to say that their sensor isn't always reliable in that they have to touch it a couple times for it to even work, yet they have no complaints or lack of satisfaction with their devices. For me, my (standard) Pixel 8 has been an awesome phone, barely ANY issues whatsoever, even though the fingerprint sensor is not the quickest in the world........99.9% of the time it works very quickly when I touch it! In my humble opinion, a person's life has to be pretty bankrupt if a fingerprint sensor has to be instantaneous for him/her to be satisfied with their phone!
This phone looks amazing. Yay for Motorola. I'm enjoying my Samsung A73 5G that I bought on Amazon last year for $399 plus charger, plus case. I will definitely buy this for my mom.
I have the older version of this and I like it. It has great battery life and seldom lags. I will be upgrading to this new 2024 version soon. 8 GB of RAM should end the lagging for good.
Yo that wallpaper when you boot up the moto is fire, anyone know what it is?
Does it have FM radio app? I really want that feature.
Sadly it's not sold across the pond, I am looking at a way to import this phone. 😊
I personally dont care about updates. 😅
Does the stylus support palm rejection?
Cant you recycle the package and paper work that the phone comes in?
Why not available in Brazil?
When will the Motorola g04 be released, greetings from Honduras
hello bro. I wanted to tell you one thing which i have noticed from many years of experience with different phones. is that when you see the temperature of samsung and xiami phone in same room temperature, you will notice that even in the same room temperature xiami phones are on little higher temp. like if samsung is 33 C hot. then xiami phone would be 35 C hot. now how it affect the phone. I have noticed that smasung phone battery life span is longer than the xiami. so this is how it affact the life span.
This point is not discussed by any person on the internet. Only I have noticed this point. and I wanted to inform you so that you also check these things and show to the public. much respect for you. thanks.
Samsung has the best software support for major android updates across all of their budget, midrange, and flagship phone which all get four years of major android os upgrades.
I'd rock this phone for my secondary daily use but Motorola needs to do better with software updates
Americans are lucky af, look at these beatiful phones and they are cheap!
I can onky buy expensive and crappy phones, even google pixels are not sold in my country (Turkey)
Study and go to a developed country buddy
Why won't they release this series to other regions? :((
Shame Moto isn't available on my country anymore, but I'm hoping that they continue to make this. A perfect niche market for them to be in, having a pen at the midrange and personally after having Samsung's note for years, I can't think of parting ways with a phone that has no pen. It's a great asset for students who doesn't want to bring many paper! Also I've been hearing some good news regarding better Stylus integration and app for Android 15 ❤
This phone felt really close to my beloved old Samsung Note 10 lite, good display and camera, capable chip at midrange, still keeps the headphone jack and microSD. I really miss the latter when having to step up to the S Ultra lines. Good lord, had that phone not succumbed to display issues I would've kept it or buy this Moto if it's available 😢
I'm hoping that moto could step up their Stylus game as well in the upcoming models. No need for a full wacom digitizer like Samsung does (to keep the cost down) but having a bluetooth to use it as a remote that can take picture + other stuff can be handy. Plus, having a zoom camera would be great too for Students should they need to take pics of lecturer's board from afar.
What country js wondering
Great video Wade..(My POV: they should at least put a charger in the box, if they're gonna use all that cardboard. If you don't have one, you have to order one..(Have you seen the boxes and packaging Amazon uses to ship small chargers??? Its hilarious)...so since they using cardboard ANYWAY...just put a charger in the Box)!!! 🤣😁😁
just bought one for free with a switch to cricket deal. waiting on it to arrive
I got it and I love mines❤
Wait till he finds out that cardboard and paper are able to be re-used instead of plastics.
That is always been my problem with the Motorola G stylus series that they never interest me because it just didn't appeal to me but I got to say this one change my mind
Motorola relaunched in my country and I'm honestly considering getting one as I'm tired Samsung.
Not ridiculous at all! This Moto G Stylus 5G is a great phone, and I came from the Edge+ 2023! I hope this phone sells enough to persuade Motorola to update it for more than 1 major OS update...
I agree about the Edge + phones. They were battery hogs and still sometimes lagged or froze up on certain apps. I never got much more than one day on a full charge.
Please do a review on the moto edge plus 2023
Wade, excellent review but I’m begging ya, when you do the camera sections give us a pose other than that cornered possum/wannabe blue steel thing. 😂
One day I’m going to have the most random ridiculous test pictures and it’ll totally catch you off guard 😅
@@TechDaily 🤣. I can’t wait
I've got the Moto stylus 5g(2021) the green one. I've had it since 2021 and it's just starting to act up but nothing too annoying. Now that they came out with this phone I think it's for me to upgrade.
The moto flagships get 3 years OS, 4 years security. I wish it would trickle to the G Stylus 2024.
I'm surprisingly the first viewer! I feel like I need the upgrade, considering that I'm stuck with the Moto G Stylus 5g 2022!
This would be a BIG upgrade by comparison. Might be time…!
Whatever you do DON'T GET A POETIC CASE!!! The Poetic case made an already huge Moto G Stylus 2022 feel like a 8" rugged tablet.
I'm still using the 2020 Moto G Stylus.
Me too, I have the 2023 5g Moto g stylus from boost mobile also...my 2020 stylus is holding up just fine, the bloatware on the 2023 hinders some performance... making the 2020 look stable and hard to put aside.
@@jevonsims900in my opinion my poetic case for the 2023 stylus 5g is really nice
No Always On Display on oled panel is a shame.
This is an impressive budget phone. Would you recommend it over a Samsung A series with more software upgrades and should I trade in my A34 ?
This vs a used note 20 ultra?
Man, those are some thin bezel on that phone.
Very nice phone 📱 am buy now
I have the edge plus 2023
How does this compare to the Galaxy A35?
its just a gimmick pen phone, camera is decent as the a35. if you dont really use the pen, get the a55.
Need to be updated until android 18
$225 to $249 and I'll buy. My 2022 was $224
Informative! Specific! And accurate! 💯 also.... very handsome 😍 lol
How much cost we can expect for indian rupees ? C
Got my kiddo a Stylus in 2019 and it was a slab of hot garbage. Looks like Moto has stepped it up!
I got the device for free at Cricket I have to say Motorola has stepped it up for sure
What is the technology they use for this stylus?
I think it's passive like the previous styluses
@@joemama-mo5fi Hmm.
I don't like the new redesigns to the software motorola is doing. I prefered the stock android look.
You guys don't get Xiaomi and realme in USA... Those make moto look like it's from previous century
Im upgrade my moto g stylus to moto g stylus 5g 2024
a 3.5mm jack! It's aliiive
This might be the one to beat Samsung A series 👀
I agree but Samsung has a better software upgrade path if that's important.
This is proof that samsung and google dont have to put those ancient looking bezels on their phones which are 100 and 200 dollars more expensive than this one MSRP price.
I think the reason these companies do that is they invest & commit to a single display type for like 2-3+ years and end up using it on a bunch of phones. Eventually they pivot to a new display type and do the same thing. Motorola’s phones had awful displays with thick bezels for years and year and now this year they finally brought something new. I’m sure we’ll see the P-OLED, thin bezel screen on more Moto’s in the next few years
Looks like a good larger phone option, but if you are interested in photography, avoid this device at all costs! The camera is still pretty awful if you compare it with 5 year old flagships.
if you want a great camera, you get a Pixel, but they are not great phones other than their camera.
Where's the audio?

it has bluetooth
I am a Samsung Galaxy user only.
It's the only Motorola phone that I liked
Motorola in India - One of the only phones with no-bloatware policy and amazing specs.
Motorola everywhere else - One of the only phones with bloatware policy and sh!tty specs.
HOWWWWWWWWW??????
You keep mentioning, despite the excellent reviews here, an issue with paper/cardboard packaging?
You do realize in the modern world 95% plus of paper and cardboard are generated from trees....GROWN ON TREE FARMS! The rest is waste from other industries and post recycled content. So "virgin forests" aren't being sacrificed (whatever that means) for modern packaging. We'd admittedly be better off if we transitioned to hemp and bamboo to more diversify the monocultures involved in paper production, but it is WAY preferable to plastic. Be happy about it.
I was seriously close to getting this phone but ONE OS Update!?!? Really Moto?? You are losing thousands of potential buyers
Companies that don't put a wall charger in the box are CHEAP. like Samsung if your paying 1k for a smart phone they should put one in there, there's no extra cost to add one. then again i wouldn't pay for a phone that cost 1k anyways.😶
I have the 2022 & 2023.
The Stylus is overrated. Just use your finger 😂
Would it be available for Indian consumers?
ever? lol no
Dude you complain SO much about the bloatware on Motorola, but you don’t say ANYTHING about the same shit on Samsung. Year after year, you trash Motorola. Some complaints like support or IP rating are valid, but Samsung has two sets of apps for Google and then native Samsung apps which in my opinion is far worse because it eats up RAM and storage. It gets kinda hard to take your opinions seriously when you literally always recommend some of the lower end garbage Samsung devices while you complain over trivial things like bloatware on Motorola that can be deleted unlike Samsung. This might be the best Motorola in years so I don’t get why you still find a way to trash the phone smh.
Haha well, here’s the thing: I’m entitled to my own opinion & suggestions based on my own usage. It’s up to you (and everyone else) to consider my opinion and formulate your own thoughts & conclusion.
I complain about the bloatware on Motorola because stuff like the Booking.com App, TikTok and their weird fake “folders” that are shortcuts to install apps aren’t even their software. I criticize Motorola so heavily because for the last 2-3 years, they were giving people *worse* phones than the prior year. They preach sustainability but don’t update their phones after a year either, basically just creating ewaste.
My last Samsung video I was critical of the FE and the company’s approach to that tier now. I also hate that they didn’t bring the A55 to the US and will be ripping them about that because they did it purposely to screw customers who would’ve bought it.
I’m critical of everyone at some point in time. All these companies have their moments of success - like this new Stylus - and their moments of crappy products
Translation: Wade is a Samsung simp. Any criticism he has given this phone and more applies to Samsung. Only this phone will probably perform way better than any Samsung phone at its price. Especially the A35 5g which recycled the same processor from the A54. It’s ok to have preferences on brands but if it skews your objectivity as a “tech reviewer” then you’re no longer giving constructive criticism but showing bias. At least he does manage to give this phone some props though.
@@TechDaily you are indeed entitled to your opinion. But, in my opinion, you are overly critical of Motorola. You say Motorola preaches substainability, but guess what? So does every other brand. Quite a few of the lower end Samsung phones you’ve recommended such as the A15 5g for example, are really nothing more than e-waste. It has a nice screen, but at the end of the day, the processor is garbage so the support it gets won’t matter if it’s so bad on performance it won’t work well in 5 years. One could argue that Samsung is equally content to put out the same lower end garbage year after year with very little improvements. And I realize everyone has their own preferences which is fair enough. However, if you review tech I feel part of the responsibility is objectivity. So if you call out Motorola for bloatware and not much improvement, then Samsung and most every other phone brand is to some extent guilty of being lazy and being cheap releasing these phones each year. Motorola is my favorite android brand, but I’m the first to say they need more support, higher quality screens and a real IP rating.
At the end of the day, all brands have room for improvement. But my issue comes in when someone trashes a brand even in this case over something minor like bloatware. At least with Motorola you can delete it so really it isn’t that huge of a deal. It’s more stock android than OneUI which has bloatware you can only disable and not uninstall. With me though I’ll even admit I’m not a fan of Samsung because often their phones are too expensive while bogging their software down with so much bloatware it lags more than it should. Clearly I formulate and make my own conclusions as my opinions are obviously very strong 🤣
he literally only talked about it for 18 seconds lol. what do u mean trashing on it? he gave so much props for everything else and he even gave motorola a pass for reusing an old & slow SoC. bloatware is something that has to be pointed out and if you are getting "mad" at someone pointing constructive criticisms out for just 18 seconds, YOU are the bias one. imagine expecting reviewers to praise bloatware.
you dont even use a samsung yet u talk about how oneUI is slow, full of bloatware when i literally face none of these issues when i've been using samsung since the s10 series. they have much bigger problems to fix and software is not one of them. oneUI is an acquired taste cause of the skin that people are allergic to cause people only foam in their mouths when they see stock android, anything that isnt stock they start whining. they also provide some samsung apps that are actually really useful but people get all tight up cause they put in apps to enhance a samsung's user experience. i rather samsung apps that can be useful instead of booking.com and other random crapware that i dont use which can steal data if people dont take notice and delete. and for the matter of fact, it does not affect performance much at all unless your phone is ancient where oneui can get heavy.
@@LonedaHeaven all of your reply is useless after you called the Snapdragon 6 gen 1 “old and slow” but then defended Samsung. You do know that the 6 gen 1 is better than any of the chips on the entire Samsung A series, right? The 6 gen 1 is better on efficiency and would destroy the A35 with the Exynos chipset without even blinking. I gotta ask, have you even used the Snapdragon 6 gen 1 or are you just making stuff up? A bit of a hypocrisy there.
It will get a software update to Android 15 💯👍🏾
