Carbon copy 2005, except for the results. This time Aussies nailed it :))

This series can't be matched in game's history. The ashes 0'5 had a lot more thrill offered by T20s. This is the greatest test ever played 🔥

Grew up in the North West - next door to OT, incidentally. Never watched cricket. Lads of my generation/area played football daily. But I remember us all watching this in 2005, all of us 13/14 years old, having barely a grasp of the rules, but loving every second of it.
    Such great memories.

Even though they lost this Australian team was the greatest cricket team of all time. They had three legitimate captains in Ponting, Gilchrist and Warne. In batting they had formidable players like Hayden and Clarke and legendary bowlers like McGrath and Brett Lee. Even their second string had players like Lager, Haddin, and Hodge. This was a fantasy players dream team. Now to think about the extra ordinary performance the English team had to pull out to beat the Aussies is what makes this the greatest Ashes series ever.

@prasithoudomvilay8454 who knows what would happened if mcgrath didn't step on a ball on the morning of the 2nd test. I'd say Shane Warne carried that aussie team in 05 ashes, although ponting stepped up to save a draw at Old Trafford. And the England bowling attack made brett lee a better player as well as Australia hired the England bowling coach & 6 months later lee was getting swing & reverse swing.
