The Schick Hydro is the most comfortable razor I've ever used! No tugging and pulling they really did a good job with the tech. Gillette Harry's and all the other good ones do have great blades but most razors will tug and be uncomfortable especially the hair under the nose top lip area... But the Schick hydro series just cuts through it like butter very nice.
I stand corrected! There is a little trimmer on the back of the Gillette that I never noticed! I still like the Schick better as after a week, the Gillette catches and nicks
This was great help, I just bought it cuz it was new in a store I go to thought I’d try it out because I’ve had the same issues with Gillette, the blades don’t last and it does become very irritating, Thanks David!
I agree, my experience is exactly the same. Both razors are great, but I have a very tough beard and the Schick blades give me at least three times the number of shaves and it’s still comfortable. About a year ago I picked up a Schick Hydro III and I fine it actually shaves closer under my jawline and under my chin. I suppose going over your jawline or chin, all 5 blades are not making contact because of the wider head. But I use both and love both the Hydro 3 & 5 razors. Aho!
I use the Schick. I only shave about once a week. Im retired and don't work in business settings where being cleanly shaved is vital. That being said, my blades literally last indefinitely. Oh I switch to a new blade every couple of months just for GP. But honestly, an 8 pack is a year supply to me LOL
The side tilting ball always seemed like an useless gimmick to me. It looks like it needs so much pressure to make it tilt, it's never gonna tilt on its own during normal use unless you press down the razor on your face like it was a cheese grater.
I was looking for parts two and three. Did I really discover a review of two products that I was expressly interested in, in under 45 minutes! Seriously, loved your style and Joie de vive, excellent stuff.
The Gillette run smooth on the face, put when it comes to the moustache and between the mouth and the chine it is not good enough, while the Schick goes in this area like a four wheel drive.
I like the 3 also, probably the best because it's all you need and the head is slimmer so easier to get to all areas. But then again the trimmer that comes with the five can be useful the Schick hydro series is simply the Best better than their other stuff and better than all the other brands
Most reviewers always claim gillette have better blades but like you I have always found the Schick hydro 5's the best blades to use. Also they do last a long time vs the gillettes that might be a bit better brand new and hence why people say they are better but they do blunt fast like you said. I still use the original hydro 5 handle I got when they first came out and the design has changed a bit with the current style. Right now I am using a safety razor but for a quick shave I go back to the hydro5's
Well my magnet doesn't stick to the Schick or the Gillette. It appears to be a very hard plastic or maybe there is a metal running down the middle. It appears like the Schick and the Gillette have very similar handles. I've never had one break and neither one is flexible
A really good review. I shave down 1st then shave up, so I totally disagree we you. In my opinion you get a much closer shave by finishing in the up direction.
The only thing I like better about the Gillette Fusion 5 is the little trimmer on the back for the nose area. I wish the Schick Hydro 5 would add a little trimmer but Schick could have a giant big lawsuit from Gillette for copying their own idea that might be why Schick didn't add it to their Hydro 5. Another reason why Burger King changed the size of their French Fries to larger back in the 1990's because they were too much identical in size and taste as McDonald's French Fries.
I too was annoyed by Costco, Bjs no longer carrying the Schick Hydro Blade packs. I would be interested in a comparison btw those and the even cheaper Amazon Nasics 5 blade.

Im not that picky. Both are ultra sharp and awesome. Whatever is on sale is good enough for me.
Very useful. Thanks!
Told me what I needed to know. Thank you.

Lol must be one hot GP
Dave, there is a trimmer blade at the back of the Gillette to shave under the nose and side burns. Check my reviews. I have a little detail in there.
You are correct! I made a note! Thank you!
Awesome video
Thanks!

Hi, what would you take razor wise if you were going on vacation?
I get more shaves, and smoother shaves from the Schick Hydro blades than I do Gillette Fusion, etc. The fact that they're cheaper is just a bonus.
The Gillette run smooth on the face, put when it comes to the moustache and between the mouth and the chine it is not good enough, while the Schick goes in this area like a four wheel drive.
the funny thing is all my facial hair grows upward so i have to hold the razor handle upside down to shave, to avoid any type of irritation
Upward?! Whoa! Brings to mind the Rhodesian Ridgeback! :)
hydro 3 blade is the best. Out of the 5 blades, I still prefer Schick, then dorco then gillette. Hydro 3 is like an improved mach
You like the 3 blade more than a 5 blade?

Gillette does feel more expensive when holding in your hand.

Thanks for the feedback! When new, both blades (most blades) are fine... But you are correct, the Schick seems to last longer.
Hey man the handle of the Schick is made out of metal or it's plastic??

Lots of other brands razors have that trimmer on there back. I currently use the Bic Flex 5 and it had it.
Shock hydro has a better trimmer you flip up the top plastic piece
Straight to it. Thanks. So are you done with the CZcams thing?
Thanks, would you like to see more? is there something you'd like to see more of specifically?
@@davidsuson1848 Nothing in particular. Just appreciate your style. Cheers.

I never was a 5 blade razor guy seems to clog easy and feels like overkill. Been rollin with tye same Mach 3 for years
Jordan, thanks for your perspective. Like you did, the best way to try different types and brands... all faces are different.
All Gillette products pulls and tugs...There is nothing that is smoother than Schick/Wilkinson hydro 5
Gillette ftw especially for bald heads.
Since I'm not bald yet, I can't comment :) I can say that type of hair and whiskers makes a difference. Thanks for sharing!
