FINALLY! -a match where the original ball colors are used!
I'm used to the TV colours more..
This video was put a decade ago lmao
Just started playing pool about 8 months ago and have been loving it, but watching people like these guys really makes you appreciate the game
great match & great fun watching these guys play a bar box. thanks for the upload!
wow more than 3 and a half hours of shane vs. alex action. thanks
commentator needs to talk about the game.
Agreed
seems
Uploaded on my b/day four years ago. What a great find! Sat and watched the whole thing start to finish. Now off to find Morra from the day before. And the Scotch Doubles if I can.
Subscribed.
+deltavee2 Glad you enjoyed it . This was a really fun tournament.
Finally turned the volume off. The commentator talked about the comments on the live feed all the way through and never commented on some of the fantastic shots made in this match. Please... we didn't come on here to listen to everything but the game. geez...
Crazy, eh?
Just chattin' it up through some crazy plays.
It would be good if you guys could have some instant replay for some of these great shots.
Thank You!
The audio is terrible!
Sure enjoyed this one good commentary also, my favorite game 14.1
36:45! that was a break foul! watch the 2 ball ! it touch his break cue!
Is this normal by the professionals to don't call the fouls and no fair play in pool billiard?
It might be cue ball fouls only idk
Me gusta ver lo profesionales jugar. Y las clases para aprender.
It's crazy watching this now after who these guys became. Shane isn't wearing a watch and there is all of about 5 people watching in the room. Wild! They are so young!

How and when does this match end? I have watched most all of it.
36:42 I don't know the exact rule for this, but I think Alex's shaft touched the 2-ball.
Yes he did and change direction of a 2-ball ,its a foul.
Yea that i will agree on. Shane does let his emotions control the aspect of the game. one of my players does the same thing. Alex does do a better job at keeping his composure when faced with a tough problem
The comments about earl is the best part 🤣
It really does kind of seem like the commentators aren't watching most of the time, doesn't it. Interesting to watch anyway.
This was on of the best events, awesome camera angles and great match. Alvin Nelson should continue to set it up but never, never ever ever, commentate a match again
agreed. im sure alvin is a nice enough guy, but his commentary is insufferable. not only does he say some outlandish stuff, but i think the "commentators curse" was named after him. ive seen so many matches where he'll literally say that there is no way that the guy isnt out, only for that player to botch the run-out.
I don't know our one of the best pagulayan was so dominant 11 years ago😮😮😮😮
A 7 foot table in a pool hall, and they count points in 9-ball. What kind of crazy stuff are they doing in Canada?
I wonder what those horizontal stress marks below the rack are from ? never seen that before
They are from loading the rack then rolling it to the spot, I have the same marks on my table.
table size? bar table?
I've been watching a lot of pool on 9ft and 10ft tables, so for a second I was freaking out because of how small the table is.
playing on them then going to a bar literally makes u think the table is a kids table
Looks like mine, caught me by surprise
You receive 1 point for each ball, 1-8, and 2 points for the 9-ball.
Score after first game 2nd set was 6 Alex, 3 for SVB, that only adds to 9, what gives???
Has anybody noticed that the break at the 36:40 mark, the 2 ball hits his cue and nothing was said? Money or not, I believe in good sportsmanship.
+cba1976 Ya it totally did. Alex definitely noticed it. No way he didnt.
+bob talbot in all its not a foul to accidentally hit a ball with the wooden part of the shaft....only double hits are fouls...remember the apa is a handicap amateur league balls get hit with cues all the time. If a ball is moved accidentally on a shot then the opponent has the right to move it back
Tim Dupree but this ball is hit while the balls are in motion which is always a foul. Where would putting the 2 "back" even be?
Yeah. He jerked his stick back.
at minute 32:30 when the commentators think that I give a fuck about them
So APA format pro 9 ball matches on a bar box. That's pretty freakin' cool.
Why even have the score on the video when you're not going to keep it updated?
Alex fouled the 2 ball 36:43 with his cue
There's no way he didn't feel it...right?
Sure did !! u right..
1:16:40 That bank to cut the one ball was one of the most impressive bank cuts I've ever seen due to the almost 90 degree cut he did it on. Straight to the pocket with no rail.
If the dog hadn’t stopped to shit, he would have caught the rabbbit
Shut up
I could beat u
@@johnseiber4586Oh I'm sure and you have 50k to throw down too
And u
Are those pockets only 4" on the 7 foot table? This Diamond table is better quality and challenge than typical bar tables. I totally enjoyed watching them deal with obstacles on the small table while running out. The APA 9 ball scoring system is not traditional but I've always believed it is a very valid way to measure skill.
It's too bad. The commentary is geared for the non-player. You know. The people that never watch these things.
At 36:45 on the break Alex fouled with his cue hitting the 2 ball
Michael Marshall I noticed that too I was like dang that had some funny spin and watched it again and sure enough he fouled
100% correct man. Damn, you know that he knew all about that to cause after he did it he moved the cue really fast. A shame that he didn't give that up.
wonder why he didnt call it
are they playing on 7ft table??
@kimbertduplessis its youtube, you have all the instant replay you want bro
what size table is that
What type of game is this?
It's an Alex-sized table
Why does the table look so small ?
What cue is Alex using??
What cue is shane using here?
What's the table size ?
What size table is this?
haha the earl roast session
why havent we seen a clash of the titans in 2014?

The table is small but the triangle is too large lmao 😂😂😂
at 34:00 alex is on the nine ball and the score was 47..after he pockets the ball she puts up 49 when it should be 48..clearly a mistake..nobody saw that??
the nine ball is worth 2 points!
The only thing decent about the APA---the point scoring/handicapping of how they score 9-ball. Too bad they don't run an amateur tournament using that system where the higher your handicap, the greater the payout. That would prevent a majority of the sand-bagging.
Couldn’t watch it with sound due to the constant clicking.
im not going to complain about the size of the table because, honestly, barbox pool is pretty fun. but if you're going to be hosting a sponsored event, you can at least use a table that doesn't have a couple years of wear on the cloth.
I think big tables with shots you cant reach takes away from the game...
Bar tables are fun to play and watch..! Yeah, that table looked pretty bad.
Bar boxes rule! Started playing league pool in MILWAUKEE on 7 1/2’ VALLEY tables. Had one of my best days playing on my home bar’s table at the after league party. Broke and ran five racks, one of which dropped 9 balls off the break, had so much fun that day!
Earl is the GOAT of billiards he would play snooker in canada but they only play for play money not worth much...
i have a question... i just got a real nice 7ft slate table (width: 3ft 11in about.. close to 4ft). i bought 2 1/4 pool balls and the table came with 2.25.. which ones are the correct size i should use for my table? or, should i say, which size do they use on this table in the video?
isnt 225 the same thing as two and a quarter lol
Ahhhhhh did you ever take a math class lol jk same size
Wish diamond would use green felt again… I can’t stand the blue felt
Good
is that 9ft table ?
is this an 8 ft table?
9 ball is worth 2 points every other ball is worth 1
lol, I know, they shouldn't even call it 9 ball. Call it 9- rotation or something and not allow early 9 s to force a re-rack.
It definitely changed direction. It was headed for the corner pocket, hitting the cue made it go into the rail. So I'd agree that it was in fact a foul.
What year was this
It says right at the beginning of the video 😂 2011
barbox pool has it's challenges...less space to scatter. you have to be better at your cue ball speed or you'll hook yourself alot...these pro's make it look easy because they are some of the best but they have learned the barbox break...the break is the most important
Best format 1 ball 1 point.... the early slop 9 means nothing but a single point. Even though it should have been spotted and not counted as a "win" they're not playing "games" they're playing points.
And NO unintentionally pocketed ball should be a point or continue shooting...
Sometimes it is just your day and everything is falling.
36.46 foul on the break by Alex on the 2 ball.
Good catch. Def changed the path of the 2 with his stick.
I'm not understanding this scoring format. Where can I see info on this?
APA 9 ball format
@@leoandsan Look at the scoring. Something else is going on.
@@anotherOneMore7 there isn’t.
@@leoandsan OK well the score seems to magically jump around after every game rather than increase by one each time. I'll leave you to it and move on.
I am not sure what you mean seriously. each ball up to the 8 ball is worth one point and the 9 ball is worth 2 points so the max number of points per rack is 10.
32:33 wow what a claim! props to you~ 👋🏻🎱👄🎱🤚🏻
Alvin is clearly in love with Alex.
+bob talbot Alex Rules the roost lolololol - Alvin -
Alex ran first two racks, how did he have 20 points in 9 ball? do you get a point for winning the game also? little confused here.
9 ball worth 2
@roca1990 haha yea i messed up lol. Late night JR and I were having there
What is that clicking?
Wonder if being short gives you an advantage on a 7ft table? Eye level with everything!!
7' and 9' are the same height, just difference in playing area so if being short is an advantage on a 7' table same would hold true on 9' table.
I like Alex and I think he is a great player but I still believe that if both players were on and racing too 100 Shane would be the victor.
Do you know what Shane vs Alex overall head to head career record is against each other seems Alex usually has his number or no?
Damn, the one giving the commentary sucks. Half the time it appears he isn't even focusing on the match, not saying anything even when the players play great safeties or miss easy shots, preferring to talk and laugh to himself instead about random irrelevant shit.
My respect for Shane
funny how they made fun of earl but now that Shane and others use longer cues no one says anything
In my opinion it wasnt, because the 2 ball did not change direction neither slowed down.
I have to say that both players played very well; however,I believe that if Alex would not have fluked in a thousand shots then Shane would have won.
ask those fans out there how many us opens they

who is the hottie keeping score?
hey nothing wrong with responding to fans on the stream would b rude if you didnt.also i hate when earls stick is made fun of physics ses that a longer cue will make your stroke straitor.most dont understand why earl has a long cue im getting ready to build my own cue.shaft 31 inches butt 32 inches with a 8 inch screw on exstention. the tip just a little bigger than a snooker cue.the cue. should only weigh 28 ouches it will do the work for me minimal effort alot of spin.just like earl if u notice his stroke is almost effortless.as for the weights u have to understan.a good player is not only a student of the game but a student of your own game.earl is very much so a student of his own game. he wears the weights on his wrist to creat muscle memory.all earl dous is the same that golfers do as an x golfer i do the same in practice.golf stroke is about an exelerating exelerated stroke.meaning in any sport your stroke is always exelerating.players with this stroke get through the ball better than any and dont miss cue miss hit etc.golf and billiards is all about science. if u sucked at science you will suck at billiards.
please makeme one
People like to talk sh!t about earl.. but he's really intelligent.!
How’d your 28 oz cue turn out? 😂
best commentating i have ever heard for a pool match. very entertaining.
that table needs Chalk Off!
It's CPA rules dude, not a foul.
its a bar box or a six foot table most likely a bar box
Bar boxes are 7 x 3.5
Statistically Shane is better
But Alex is catching up
i seen shane run eight racks in a row of ten ball at fargo billiards on a nine footer
1:21:50 was a fault from alex
Not in APA/CPA. They're playing CPA and the it says in the rule book that fouls can only be committed in the act of shooting. Bumping a ball like that is not a foul.
The number of times that banner fell, should have played a drinking game with it.
@earthgreen101 dont forget that this bar table is also a form of game.dont disrespect a player.if u disrespect a player then u will be also disrespected by the way un earthgreen101 is not a fake id of efren bata reyes:)
its cpa its not all ball foul! thats why he didnt get called
That safety at 1:01:20 was sick
table looks 7 inches
I guess it's a 7 ft
Wow is it me or is that table TINY my god.. Maybe im just used to playing on 8ft+ tables..
It's a bar box...which is getting more popular lately.
3.5ft x 7ft actualy.. most of pool is played on 4.5ft x 9ft, 4ft x 8ft is more popular at homes
***** What? I couldn't match up with you if I wanted....I work 60hrs a week now. Plus, you have no idea how I play....I've put 7 together on a big box, 10 on a bar box....you remind me of myself about 10 years ago...thinking you know everyone who can beat you
***** I did....about 10 years ago. Road life is very tough....I make a lot more now working a steady job. I'm better than amateurs, but worse than the pros...so I need a job
+Pascal Roy there's also 10x5 which is used in some tournaments
Tick tick tick tick tick tick...
that is a small table.
This is reality TV filming these tournaments you have to film where you can film ,period.
...Po-teen? Ouch. That mispronunciation literally hurt.
