- With just three players left in the 2016 Derby City Classic 9-Ball division, SHANE VAN BOENING faced off against ALEX PAGULAYAN. Pagulayan had already wrapped up the Master of the Table award, but Van Boening was undefeated and had been mowing down opponents all through the 9-ball event. This was a great match between two crowd favorites.
Mark Wilson and Danny Diliberto called all of the action.

watching the Mosconi Cup '22 and the pockets are on huge on this table compared to the MC thanks for the upload!
Eggnog made me do it.
Who won the match today 16 hours ago?
I love both these guys, shane is a monster and pagulayan is a hilarious monster
51:40 So happy to see this happens to the pros as well. Doesn't happen often for them. Happens most days for me. Get out of line slightly then forced to play a bank shot. Then miss and lose after doing all the work. 9 ball can be brutal
Why is the clock counting? I never hear any extension called but it just resets when time is up? Am I missing something? (maybe it will come later, only watched a couple of racks ad of yet...)
Even if they don't call an extension they are automatically granted one if they haven't taken it yet.
@@hunterfisherpokerpoolguy7502 OK, I haven't seen that before. I guess the ref tells them that the extension is used without it showing on the video (or I missed it 😁). Otherwise it'd be easy for a player to miss that.
Thanks 👍
@@bennylloyd-willner9667 No problem. Yeah, the ref usually verbalizes it for everyone to hear, but you will often hear players ask the ref if they have one left.
Alex repping Le Spot in Toronto love to see it
I love seeing players break hard as a man. Not the soft girly breaks!
Alex worked for the 16th rack....!
It's a shame they talked over Alex at the end.
Mmmm.... This pizza is good!!!
woulda been a 45 minute match if The Lion could rack em in under 3 minutes.....
I'm a champion too in pool billiard I played professional I don't think people that didn't achieve anything in pool always would say people so slow in playing and there is a shat clock why you need in a hurry if you just miss why you don't take your time and visualize more!
@@simonanigan5141 TV, man.. Nobody watches, Novel Writing.. that's a Monty Python skit on a record. Anybody watches even chess, well, they must really be into it, and the chess masters tourney with strict clocks.
Good match, but really, as good as was on the table, as bad as he was behind the mic, Danny D rarely got it right.
1:08:55 Shane could just scratch on purpose? Even with ball in hand, Alex probably does not have a good shot.
How do you think a person would win without a good shoot in pool!????
Have you won any pool events or been champion in a professional league???
@@simonanigan5141 I did not mean that Alex is a poor shooter - I have followed him for years. I meant that the balls were so tied up, that no good shot would be available (for anyone), even with ball in hand.
It looks like the two goes in the upper left pocket.
Another example of why danny shouldn't be a commentator rack 11 shane shooting the 8 ball danny said shane meant to move the 9 that much ??? He didn't wanna move it at all danny. Go take a nap we will wake you when its over
Hahaha Alex keeps on saying TANG INA in the last rack. Hahahaha you should know what TANG INA mean in Filipino. Hahahaha
Where are all the good looking people?
