An experimental "cruiser type" destroyer with increased displacement. The ship was equipped with very powerful propulsion, making Shimakaze faster than the majority of her contemporary ships of the same type. Shimakaze was second to none in terms of torpedo armament. The first and only destroyer of the Imperial Japanese Navy to be equipped with quintuple torpedo tubes.

He died pretty stupidly considering how well he played otherwise...WHY would he sit in a place that could be spammed by sub torps? The sub knew where he was, he knew where the sub was...WHY SIT THERE?!?

Never seen such a shambolic display of cheat tools ever in one game, its disgraceful, utterly disgraceful..... Real Shimakaze Captains know, that you can NEVER use your guns in a Shimakaze.....
Let's be honest here, you need stupid enemies and hilarious amounts of luck to hit that many torps.
You also need a team which is incapable of doing damage, preventing you from doing so much damage.
He won a gun fight with a Sherman and the CV never fired a shot at him until 16:30, so ya this was def one of "those" games where things aligned. Still an amazing score though, no matter what.

can someone pls tell me how to change the settings of torpedos so that it just shows the reserve cone when the enemy ship is in range of my torps
You can't... and anyway it's useful to see which way a ship far away is moving. The minimap is where you need to look.. if the line you're aiming your torps on crosses your targets projected path within the torp range circle.. then they have range.

lol he aims att a bb with torps and the cruiser starts to moove out and eats some and so does the bb and he gets double kill..that cruiser must have tought he was the one in the scope....
Totally unrealistic: normally you would have been detected by hydro or radar all the time.
This replay just shows how UNBELIEVABLY stupid submarines are in this game. Guy plays an INCREDIBLE match, plays so well he sets a new world record for his ship, but in the end, no amount of excellence, skill or strategy makes any difference: the sub just pings him over and over, and the homing torpedos sink him with ZERO counter. Submarines DO NOT belong in this game and will destroy it if left as is.

Zero IQ camping BB players killed this game long before subs were even though of.
Weakened DD with poor maneuverability, sitting still next to island, with perfectly known location, will die to any player with half a brain.
@@blusafe1 he could have spammed his sector AA aswell but he did a good match and enemy carrier was smart enough to spot him.
That’s a hell of a stretch to go from “this man set a damage record, and yet was killed by a sub” to “that proves subs are op and don’t belong in the game”
As someone who plays subs and counters them often, I can tell you he played almost perfectly until he stopped next to that sub. The torpedoes weren’t even homing by the time they hit him because he DCP’d, but it was his own fault for being stopped by the time he pressed that so he couldn’t dodge.
It’s not about subs, being OP, it’s about people not understanding how to simply outplayed them. As with every class in this game, subs have a lot of weaknesses

So, how do you know the position of the enemy at 3:20? Just curious.
its a defense perk for sub commanders. gives a ping to the nearest enemy ship. regardless if that ship is spotted or not
you see the white sign above the crosshair? its radio detection and shows the approximate direction of the nearest enemy ship. If you see the next ship is 10 kms away and the radio shows another position, you know someone is closer but not visible.

You kill 6 ships and set a world record and all they can talk about is that time you torped an island................
So many things have to go your way to have a great dd game, like peak CV play on the red team....accidentally spot the shima at 7 minutes in and then inexplicably NEVER go back to him as he dumpsters your team because farming damage? Sweet, sweet karma that he got dev struck at the end.

Don’t know why so many content creators use the calm sea mod. It looks terrible. The enemy ships look like something out of Minecraft. The pixelation is distracting.

Not so bad but not very impressive. His team did nothing and let him play alone, he had a lot of luck too. No AA when the planes are circling around, using guns who are awful on Shima, and.in the end pinged by a sub and let the torps kill him without a move

Not a pro, but more intelligent them most on the enemy team. They could've find him and deal with him 10min into the match. But they allowed a shima to torp freely. In the end he died like a fkn noob with his aa on while dmg con at 4s before the fing ran out. Player like this against a regular team wouldn't make it this far. But... congrats for his 460k+ dmg, he deserved the shittyness of the enemy team.
Exactly. If i am playing shima or my teammate is or even if someone from enemy team is playing shima, we get spotted and harassed the fuck out of by enemy cv planes. The cv will just keep spotting unless the shima is dead. I am surprised the enemy cv here didn't do so from the start.
Man it was a lot of adrenaline. I turned on AA, beacause I know he want to spot me all time for Conq. so it was better to atack planes than just run. I did only mistake with this torps from sub. Show me you best score if you think its easy to keep calm in this situation. It's always easy to talk about somebody mistakes, but there is not a lot of ppl that can show scores like that. I have over 300 battles on shima on randoms and I know how to play. Of course both teams helped to reach that score, but in normal situation it's imposible to reach numbers like this.

This dosent tell that the player is good, it tells a story about an overpowered boat that is not balanced. Much like youre videos about "pro player submarine player record" Everyone i see play submarrine automaticly gets a plays poorly report. A ship that dont have a real counter, and cant be detected on hydro/radar does not belong in a "navy war simulator style game."
Your comment is completely dumb, shima is everything but OP... Litteraly every TX DD can shit on you when you're playing it + no AA ...
