I appreciate the sound effect. The sounds you made to illustrate the battery dying is exactly the noise mine makes
Yeah bro same 😂
Just replaced the battery and its brand newwww lets goo
For real, making sounds is great. No joke
Thank you so much for explaining everything! I was finally able to get my bike started after a day of not being able to crank it. You rock!!
SRKCycles, I'm posting this just to say thank you. I'm a novice rider, and could not figure out why my bike wouldn't start; however, I searched and found your video. You taught me to hold the clutch and lift the kick stand to start my bike. After having the bike for three days, I finally got to fire up. Bro, you are awesome!!! God Bless.
Exactly what happened to me.
Thanks man. My guy started his bike because of this video and he is out riding! Thanks again for the helpful info. It wasnt easy for him to admit this video helped him to resolve the problem. It was the clutch information towards the end of the video that was the problem keeping the bike from starting. He forgot to check that. Have a good day.
Video quality has come a long way, nice work guys. This still helped big thanks.
I wish I could bring my f****** bike in the house!
@@AFY-nd5nr kik e
Its stinks it up alot.
@Ryan Phelps lol
That’s their shop
Helps if its efi.less gas smell
Youre battery isnt nessessarily dead if nothing comes on when you got to start it. It could be your main fuse also.
Yep had the exact thing happen to me a month ago
And also if your solenoid starter isn't grounded, everything does come on, but you wont get nothing..your solenoid has to be grounded.
Aaron Conrad Vleck so bike starter switch does not turn or click what so ever. I have to pop the side case off on right side and pop the screwdriver in to spark then booom it starts up ... what’s do you think is wrong/to fix
@@aaronconradvleck786 what do you mean by grounded brother my r6 is giving me hell rn i just changed stator rectifier batter and fuel pump and starter selenoid
no lights nothing ?? is completly dead
Its always the guys who have the motorcycle in their house that know what tf they are talking about lol
🤣
Huge help man glad I found your channels last week!!
OMG, thank you so much! Your video got me and the Triumph on the road!
Dude thank you! Especially considering that sometimes when a bike won’t crank it can be a myriad of things and not just one thing, it helps when all the possibilities are explained. Thanks man.
😀. Because of your video I just realized that my Harley never had a problem with the switch. It was placed on 1st gear and that’s why it wouldn’t start. 🤦🏽♂️. Thank you.
🤣🤣🤣
And even when you think your battery is ok, there's a difference between dead battery and bad battery. Check it's voltage DC and when you turn over the bike (crank it) make sure the voltage doesn't go below a specification from your bike's manual for the ignition. A bad battery will power your lights but not produce enough voltage to run through all your electrical components.
Thanks exactly the answer I was looking for. 👍
Yo I want to say that I appreciate you breaking down the terms and definition as well as those 3 examples. Thanks to you, all I had to do is recharge my battery. I did it myself and saved some good money!
Very helpful. I've made all those mistakes in the heat of the moment. Usually got it started. Thank you.
You're a life saver!!! Thank you so much!!!!
I appreciate this video. I’m new into motorcycles and had a starting problem. This helped me fix the problem.
Does this apply on Honda Wave 100?
ahhh thank you! I have a sportster as my daily and it would not start for the life of me this morning, I didn’t ride her for 3-4 days due to heavy rain and when I went to fire her up she would choke up and sound off this loud clicky noise, I started panicking and didn’t know what to do, turns out my bike has that thing you mentioned that you need to hold the clutch in to start, thanks, you made my week! 👍🏽
Best explanation on CZcams. Straight to the point and understandable
Thanks you for getting right to the point
Thank you! Very helpful! Mine is the 2nd example x.x
My bike does exactly that slow winding sound but not clicking. My light is still on so don't think battery is the problem though? And also - even if battery was dead, i should be able to kickstart it or run with it and kick it into gear, no? But that doesnt work either... Any other ideas?
Thanks for the advice, I wanted to get stranded anyway
The sound effects had me dying 😭, but very accurate
Fixed. My issue (recurring issue other months). battery keeps dying. I actually problem solved this a month ago when i stator died or wasn't charging. Replaced stator and haven't had an issue since today, today was a dead battery. Battery is 2yrs old so i may look into getting it replaced. Came home charged battery "again" seems like I'm charging battery every other month. Put battery back in bike, BAM started np. batteries been giving me ALOT of grief lately. i will be replacing batter in the next 2 months or so.-Great video! Still helping ppl 7yrs later.
Very, very, helpfull, saved me $$$ and time , and a headache, subscribed!
Im just going to dislike this without going into detail.. just as much detail as this video goes into
Would it have anything to do with the spark plug or changing the oil?
Starter solenoid, stator/ alternator, regulator rectifier, ht lead or starter motor also worth checking even if dash lights up.
Ray Tokens THANK YOU!!!!! I KNOW TO CHECK MY CLUTCH AND KILL SWITCH AND KICKSTAND!!! IF I'M LOOKING UP ON EBAY THAT MY BIKE WON'T START AND THEN I'VE ALREADY WENT OVER THE BASICS!!! I'M LOOKING FOR SOLENOID BAD OR MY STARTER IS BAD HOW ABOUT THIS ONE... YOUR START SWITCH IS BAD.
Thank you sir 👍, we appreciate your time and videos.
Great video, thank you! One think I had happen with my Road Glide is that the FOB battery was bad and while all the electrical systems would switch on, it would never turn over, and I saw the 'key' warning sign. Adding a new FOB battery resolved it for me
Thank you
Mine cranks but won't catch. Any ideas? It's a 06 Yamaha YZF 600R thundercat if that helps any
You have done an excellent job
Thank you for the sound advice.
I have a v star 250 and the other day it took me like 5 minutes of the bike not starting. Turns out it was on 1st gear with the kick stand down :D
Andrew Gabriel lol, new rider here, and did that same thing, and it was a new bike too. It drove me nuts that it wouldn't start. Lol
I dont have a motorcycle but my grandpaw owns one.
dillon that doesn't add anything to the convo
Dillon Noe Hahaha!
Thank you so much for reminding about the kill switch:)
Could add the situation where the alternator is not charging the battery. Check alternator cable.
Alternator ??? O o
Would parking on an incline cause some problems for a motorcycle to start?
Stopped at a friends house on my way home from work...parked on his driveway, which is a pretty good incline. Fuel was open, choke open, bike tried to turn over and finally started but really rough.
Got off the incline and gave it a little gas and it started right up...so maybe it didn’t get enough fuel due to the incline to fire up?
I have a 2017 kawasaki versys x300 and the accessories and everything comes on fine and it just makes a whirring sound when i press the starter button. I justvreplaced the relay and its still doing it do you think I should replace the battery or try replacing the starter motor? Please lmk any advice and thank you for your videos you are a big part of why i ride 👍
Very good video but yeah question. I have a 99 Yamaha yzf 600r and it stop starting using the button. At first I use to grab the clutch and then push the start button. Then that stop working and it would just start using just the button and now when I push the button my oil light and gas light comes on but nothing happens at first I thought it was the whole kill switch so I replaced it and still the same thing. So to ride my bike now I have to start it using the stator. Any idea what happened?
About 5 minutes in a free editing program would do wonders for this vid. Pretty good still though
Quick question, my bike won’t start up from the starter switch...I have to make contact on both post of the solenoid starter relay to get it started...once started and it running on the street for a few minutes I can actually turn it on from the starter switch...I have new battery new starter switch and new solenoid starter relay, what else do I replace?
Dang you saved my life! Second scenario, just like you described. New battery and everything is back to normal. Thanks!
If the bike has been dropped multiple times over the course of a few months, could the tip over sensor be the issue? And would the tip over sensor prevent a bump start?
What happens if you've been riding the bike for over an hour then it loses power then dies. Battery is dead. Maybe the stator or voltage regulator? How do I know?
You saved me a trip to the shop. My bike won’t start if it’s not in neutral. Thanks!
loved this explanation, from Kenya
What kind of bike is this?
Quick question i have a 5 month old battery and I put aftermarket lights and my bike doesn’t work and they said it’s my stater lever that is not charging up my battery so my question is , was it my lights that caused this
Can anyone tell me which make and model this bike is? Thanks.
My bike turn on, killswitch on but went i press start button if didt do anything..
Could cold weather kill the battery because my 2014 Harley 1200 custom went from garage kept to being transported on the free way at 32 degrees +the wind
Yes it can
Okay I have a 2009 Suzuki GSXR I change the solenoid starter starter the rectifier and stator and still I have to push start it what else could be wrong?
What if you try to start the bike it cranks clunks like hell almost like metal is meeting then it just clicks when you hit the start button. Give it awhile then it starts or just does it again.
THANK YOU... CLUTCH SAFETY SWITCH... HOLD IT IN... FIRED UP!!!!
Would love some advice..my r6 09 died on me when I went to the gas station I thought it was my battery but when I got home the battery tender said it was 80 percent or more charged ..the bike won't start over or anything at all. Not even the dashboard or lights ...literally dead ..could it be a wire got disconnected from somewhere or the main fuse ? ..fuses looked good tho when I checked them ..
Nice bike! Great video, thank you ;)
Yea I have like a beginners bike venom x22 125 and it wouldn’t even crank forgot that it has to be in neutral but since I dropped it sometimes it fucks up and stays on first when parked so thanks for the reminder
The tip over sensor on my Harley routine is, turn on than off, turn back on, turn off the hazards, turn back off. Than attempt to start it again. I dropped mine in sand, boy was that fun, riding my Harley on the beach lmao.
I have a kawasaki and my bike isnt responsive. Bought a new battery and it is still not responsive. Nothings turning on at all? Can u help please
Hi, what about if it takes a few tries to start? It goes with the nynyny sound and after a couple of time you try it starts. What could be the issues?
Why are u inside 😂😂
thank you for this...i tried it out, not working. I have a 2021 Honda rebel. I used it this morning and when i tried to start it several hours later it won't start. Gauge works, signals, lights...it just won't start or even kick over. Could it still be the battery.
Mine is number 3, but there is no attempted turn over. It ran great yesterday, but after I turn the key on, light and dash indicators come on, but NOTHING. Any suggestions?
The tip over sensor on the CBR is behind the speedometer.
Hey I have a 82 yamaha and my bike won't turn over but it miss fires when I try to crank it what's the could be the problem
I do have the second one is possible because is cold and is been sitting for a month?
so for the first issue i dont hear my fuel pump priming is it still a dead battery?
Try CPR on the battery before, You decide that it kecked the bucket 😋
Hey Sean I live watching your videos you show me alot was having problems with bike not starting ...ended up being crossed wire in switch
see i knew the batery was dead, just making sure, before i try and start it up again...THANKS MAN!
The starter-solenoid might also be bad which does not send electrical current to the starter. Therefore, the bike will not start.
Yep, kick stand was down. Cheers 👍👍
I have the third scenario atm but I just replaced the battery.. and I did all those things but it doesn’t even click to start. The dash lights come on intermittently but mainly they’re off... I have no idea what the problem it
Hi
I recently brought a Sinnis Apache 125 it has been sitting for a while but it was started every other day. i had it started Saturday but when it came to start it sunday it won’t bang it will just turn over and over it’s got a full battery fresh fuel fresh oil,it sounds like it wants to start but something is not letting it.it dose have a spark and compression the ignition coil is fine. I was just wondering what anyone think it could ive also tried some easy start in the carb an took the carb off and clean it.i’ve pretty much tried everything else I can think off . Any ideas ?? Thanks
Do you have a part 2? My bike was running then went to start next time and nothing. Lights and gauges work bike not turning over. It will normally start in any gear without clutch engaged and kickstand down. Only way it starts is pushing and popping clutch. I cleaned the contacts on the ignition and kill switch and checked fuses
Hello! I am a 17 year old with a moped ( Derbi GTR50 ) My bike wont start running for some reason and I can’t figure out why. I changed the spark plug around 2 weeks ago, it has gas and oil in it, ive checked all around it and nothing seems loose or un-cabled. I also changed the battery overnight but that didn’t do much other than the lights getting stronger, I also screwed off the exhaust pipe to give it more oxygen but that also didn’t do anything. Any idea what the problem could be?
what if you have a brand new battery and still no lights or anything comes on
What if the second thing happens but when you try to jumpstart it and it won’t turn on?
Sean, this exactly what is going on with me. But I checked my battery with a voltmeter and it said 12 volts. Would I be getting a reading even with a dead battery???
Nevermind, I should have just watched the whole video. You answered my question. 🤣🤣🤣
Yes the starter fuse is what it could be.
So I just bought a shadow 06 600cc. Owner was starting it no problem. I brought it home rode it a little bit but then I thought the battery was dead so I bought a new one and now when I try and put the key in the lights come on but no noises when I put the engine button on and when I try to STSRT it up there’s a single click and the lights completely dim there’s a single click sounding like it’s from either starter or fuse
just bought my first bike for 200 and of course it doesnt start i go on youtube type in bike wont start bam im here thank you srk guys
Can't believe I was so much of an idiot to drop my bike then leave it in gear and wonder why it wouldn't start 🤣😂🤣
How about when you turn the key, I don’t get that sound you hear? I turn the key and just lights go on but nothing else. Then I press the fire up and the engine tuns over and turns over but never fires up. Battery fully charge every time.
I remember it used to have a scritching noise when I used to turned the key and now it doesn’t. But when it did it fired up. Any ideas… ? I appreciated
It goes: "raaaaaaaaaaaeeeeeeewwwr raaaaaaeeeeeewwwwwr rawr"
Thanks brother. Like others, your noise was the one mine made. Time for new battery.
Im in 2nd situation and the bikes battery is new. What to do?
My Harley just got a brand new battery lights come on fuel pump goes on ..but motto not even cranking to start?? Any suggestions?
Thanks for posting this video man. I just bought a used 2015 Harley Sportster and a couple times now after I run the bike the next day or right after running it it'll show the oil light on and won't let me start the bike so it sounds like it could be the temp sensor going bad. Let me know if that sounds right to you if you don't mind. Thanks again and God bless!
What did you do? Update?
Made my day. Neutral option worked for me 🙏
Im having problems with mine it only cranks up with jumper cables and it will run but using blinkers the light shutters. But when i cut it off it wont start back up at all with out being jumped again
i got a 99 nomad 1500 that wont crank when u push start .. you can hear the fuel pump pumping gas but no crank BUT if i hot sart it meaning i use some needle nose pliers and touch the wires wher the master fuse is located at and press start it will turn on rite away... what can that be due too ? iv cheked all fuses and gone trugh most of the wires for mis conections and i dont see anything els also after duing this hot wire method a few times im able to start it normal no pliers needed
Hey buddy help me my bike self motor is running but it won't start the engine what's the problem and how to fix it....
so helpful im a new rider and i bought used bike google did more to frighten me than inform me, cause i was in first all i had to do was pull in the clutch
I tested my bike battery, and it show good. Can the amps be weak at the same time, that it refuses to turn over the bike?
Yo thanks bro
bike won't turn over immediately after being turned off?
I have an 88 Honda Shadow vt800c. I dropped it on its left side for maybe 30 seconds till I could pick it back up. It was leaking a lot of gas during this time. Picked it back up but it now won't start. All the electrical work is fine. I have tried to start it several times but nothing fires. It turns over and there are puffs of air coming out the exhaust but it won't fire. It sounds the same as when it normally starts. I've hooked it up to my trickle charger and have tried to start it several times now. I know most carb bikes leak fuel when in their left side and that I likely flooded the motor. Im not sure how to fix that though. I've let it sit overnight and tried to start it again this morning but nothing happened other than what I've said. Also I thought it might just be out of gas but I refilled the tank and still nothing.
Have you tried bleeding the carburetor? I have a Chinese dirt bike. Whenever I drop it, it won't start. Fuel, I'm told has flooded an area in the carburetor. There is a screw on the side of the carb. Once you open this, if this is the problem, petrol will come out of an overflow nozzle on the side of the carb. This slows after about 5 seconds. Tighten the flat head screw again and it usually lets the bike start. I was shown this by a Chinese farmer. Handy trick
