I think that it's a shame that riders were not allowed to decide whether or not the Maverick's heartline was too intense. When are they going to learn that too coaster enthusiasts, as long as I don't have any blood vessels burst in my eyeballs, it's not too intense! I think that sometimes, passing out is a risk you have to take!
At least Velocicoaster has it, and proves that riders can take it after all, but I think that Ohioans shouldn't have to travel halfway across the country to experience it!

I'm not a fan of the high ones as I feel it's getting a little obsessive (over how tall manufacturers can make em) so I really enjoyed this one. Not too tall but so many enjoyable elements! Going into the tunnel is amazing.

Here for the “My first Time” story. My friends dad took us to CP for the day, and for the first time in my life, would occasionally let us teens walk around by ourselves a bit. Maverick was our last ride of the night- our way of fighting leaving the park since it was a 2- hour wait. The park would close well before that, but if you’re in line, you ride! We waited so long we sat down in the line. Reaching the station, we decided what’s another 2 minutes for front row? It was the MOST incredible ride and remained my favorite for years. I’d always ride it no matter the wait. Last time I visited, mav was shut down so I couldn’t compare steel ven. to maverick that day.

The 95 degree drop is so insane feeling, and also I love coasters with a second launch, like the stunt coaster at king's dominion. Also, I LOVE the modern straps on Maverick, makes the ride feel so smooth and basically guarantees no neck/shoulder pain. I also love the straps on Intimidator 305 for this reason. Great video!

Back when I first started watching your videos, it struck me how you're really great at clearly describing the ride experience, and using multiple POVS and footage, so that I can actually understand the layout in a single viewing (no easy feat, given my brain's difficulty grasping spatial concepts). Truthfully I think the height was because of those original straps. They were hard and short people banged their heads into them, not their necks. Idk which is worse but at 5'7 I experienced the head banging. I loved it anyways, but man, I avoided riding multiple times. Now I don't!

Exactly, even as a seasoned rider I struggled to keep my head from getting bashed around on them. Changing the straps made this ride go from one my wife (who mostly only rides coasters because of me) refused to ride more than once a trip, IF I could talk her into that, to one of her favorites that she will ride as many times as we're able to get on it. Definitely a huge improvement.

The lights for the ride were off for the start of the light show, and we were screaming through the night. When we came to brakes under the station, WE NEVER SLOWED! There were actually four Intamin coasters prior to Maverick: the one you forgot about was Intamin's 1st coaster: Wilderness Run in 1978 which was Intamin's 1st coaster.
They started tiny and grew to be the tallest and fastest roller coasters. Also: Coaster at Playland in Vancouver won't be allowed to be let out to coast unless at least 12 out of 16 riders are on the coaster lest it valley (but it doesn't valley. Not as much as much as Leviathan! ;)
As for Maverick: I don't know if it's because I'm old or if I'm traditional, but TRIGGER WARNING: Maverick ranks 6th at Cedar Point for me. In any case I love the education I'm getting form you being a ride op, especially when remembering being stacked at (the approximate) EBR section of Maverick, when there in May 2018.
My Cedar Point rankings from best to worst are 1) SV; 2) MF; 3) Gatekeeper; 4) TTD;) 5) Raptor; 6) Maverick; 7) Max X-200; 8) Rougarou; 9) Valravn; 10) Gemini; 11) Blue Streak; 12) Iron Dragon; 13) Wicked Twister; 15) Pipe Scream; 16) Cedar Creek Mine Ride; 17) Woodstock Express, then finally 18) Wilderness Run (which is the only coaster there I've not ridden as I don't have a kid to hold my hand when riding, and I'm sacred.) Stay safe, everybody!
