My ZERO WATER CHANGE tank system

- This kind of tank may be good for people just getting into the aquarium hobby and looking for something easy to handle without much maintenance or room for error. In some cases, an eventual water change may be needed, but if the plant load is big enough and the fish load is small enough, sometimes these systems can maintain themselves. If you want to buy goldfish pellets head over to lukesgoldies.com
You're such an inspiration, Mr. Luke. Your content always improves and develops. Amazing job with keeping all your fish thriving and healthy. 👍🙏
I find his work ethic for his channel so inspiring! Keep up the great content! These daily vlogs are great
I want to do this. When I move into my new house I need a 60 gallon with this exact setup. Only I’ll have my turtles in this.
They might eat everything
Still have to keep a close eye on it though. May save on your water bill, but saving on the maintenance may not be a big deal
@@lenniface_ I’ve kept my turtles for years. With plants. And Oscar’s. They won’t be a problem. I wouldn’t have said what I did, if I didn’t know what I was doing. Thanks tho.
@@KermitTFYT What filter do you have and what tank do you currently have?
@@ikenox5958 the ones I use that are fine for my animals
Luke slowly getting into aquascaping…
🤣
I’m living in Los Angeles and I went to the park in Oxnard and found bacopa plant all over. I took it home and planted in my fish tank submerged underwater. They are growing healthy and it’s really beautiful.
"964th video of me requesting luke to name a chunky goldie Mr.Blaze" It must be the most fiery goldfish🔥🔥"
Damn bro , the last time i came to your channel you had like 30 k subs, now you are 3 M ☠️ damn dawg
I have a tank like this. 200L tank with 2 goldfish, a huge pothos plant, several big anubia. Java fern and lots of Java moss. I also have UV light steriliser on it and a decent filter. Perfect water quality with no water change for over a year.
Are they fancy goldfish or just common ones? I wanna do this but I want to keep oranda goldfish but idk if that’s possible this way because they poop so much haha
I love the long form videos!
Have you seen Father Fish? He has a ton of content on a variety of different aquatic setups. Love the videos Luke!
I don't think he has but he definitely needs to. It's sad to see fish in plain tanks. Getting drenched with unesasary chems.
Very very well explained my friend and I totally agree.
I got a 40 breeder with 2 fancy goldfish and pothos on the back. Those plants are such a great help. Love my goldfish but they are swimming poopers. Always eating. Always pooping but I love them
Finally a vid over 2 min
Also I just subscribed I love your videos and your fish keep up the good work
I think a very interesting plant us Utricularia vulgaris. It's so cool! They are mostly underwater, have beautiful yellow flowers, can withstand up to -20°C, and get rid of unwanted guests.. (and possibly small fish-) IT'S GOOD.
I started mine the day u made the video and my pothos also grew as big as yours, except my root system is way more condensed
this is the same as my 40g breeder tank, its super stocked but absolutely filled to the brim with plants so i can go weeks without changing the water (i still do weekly water changes lol)
Hey Luke hope you are doing well and I just wanted to appreciate about how you have done like when you started this channel you we living in a small place but you purchased a property and did a whole lot of hardwork in the past years and you have also encouraged me to fish keeping and got me wondering about how you spend your day and manage to upload some of the purest content out here, so how about a little vlog on how you spend your day?? Thanks.
Beautiful tank, I know you know more about this than me, but personally I would get rid of all of the sponge filters, and replace them with a 60 gallon filter, it would be more aesthetically pleasing, and easier to manage. You don't have to go triple filtration on a tank with fish that don't produce much waste like goldfish, especially since the tank is loaded with pothos plants.
i just got pothos too! nice
I really want a big tank just filled with guppies and plants.
With that small bio load and the amount of plants you'd be perfectly fine with half the filters.
4:40 rip fish 😅
Luke, when i first saw you doing this i had to give it a shot. I got a crap ton of pothos for my 75 gallon angelfish tank
Awesomeness!!
That's quite a jungle right there.😂 But still efficient and practical. Two 👍👍 for this practical and effective setup. Easy and 100% satisfactory and straight up achievable.
I do add peace lily as substitute for pothos.
Got scared when you mention about them being poisonous to fish.
Just the leaves, not the root system. That's why you keep the vine out of the tank. Plus that part shouldn't be submerged anyways. Pothos is overall rather safe and has been used in the hobby an aesthetic nitrate sponge for decades.
Hi luke, you should make a walstlad method aquarium, I thought it would be a good idea for a video
I want to make a native pond ecosystem with lots of plants so I won’t have to do many water changes. I have water bugs, water scorpions, diving beetles, white river crayfish, Virgile crayfish, ghost shrimp, minnows, baby sunfish and snails
One matter filter on one side of the tank would work and look better!
You should sell plant cuttings!
Turtle reset FTW. I gotta get me one of those. haha
I already have tanks like that.
You should do a water change
Why?
@@ColtonPeabody BecUse
I have a 7 gallon tank with 1 betta and lots of plants and 2 filters
Dripping water change system will do work for u
Might need to change mic placement
Your chain is rubbing on it and making a fair bit of noise
Beautiful guppy tank. How many air pumps do you have? I would still change the water sometimes. Who doesn't like fresh water? I don't like my water sitting in the glass overnight.
Hi Luke! What's the best substrate to put in a baby goldfish tank? Dont know if you'll answer but thanks in advance and God bless you! 🙏
Luke I got to tell you something your guppies are endlers😅
1:50 that female guppy snatching the food first is the exact definition of lady first lol
Was the monstera introduced to the tank while the yuan baos were still in it?
Are you gonna sell guppies
bro you can't even imagine where i am watching you
R.I.P gizmo
I think the leaves under the water killed some of my mystery snails.
Wow
Hi! May I know what brand of fish food do you used to fed your goldfish? I also wanted to know what the best thing for the goldfish to better enhance their coloration.
Me running a 20gallon with a filter than has minimal flow and a stupid amount of plants: huh Luke seems to be going a bit overkill lol
Video on snapping turtles please
How do you keep your roots so clean from algae? Mine get covered almost instantly in my 40 gallon tank
I can't have pothos because my cat eats plants. And I love him!
Your cat has problems
❤❤❤
How long has that tank been setup? How can you accurately say your tips are accurate if you haven’t had your tank running for very long?
First 8 minute Video of the year
Get ricefish pls
They are like guppies but more hardy
Hey, any advice on how to hold garden stakes at the top of my tank like yours? Thanks!
Bro the main thing i wanted to know was how you hung up those pothos
While having a bunch of filters doesn’t “hurt” anything there becomes a point where you’re wasting money. You can have endless supply surface area for beneficial bacteria you will only grow enough BB that your bio load can support. So many people think more filtration is better but many times it’s not beneficial or necessary. Also pothos can grow completely submerged.
He didn’t want to have the leaves inside of the tank due to the fact that they killed his previous batch of fish that were in the same tank, because their toxic to fish if consumed
😮
HEy I was WOndering how much golffish you would recommend for a 55 gallon tank
I havent changed my goldfish water in years and finally did 2 days ago and its fine
Do you have a link to the sponge filter system you use?
Luke I want an ugly goldfish but do u breed any for a bit colder water?
Hi. Luke. How are the Blackmores growing are they growing big have you had any other have you had any eggs yet or have they not shown that they're ready to breed. Just. Asking. My. Blackmore fish are growing so beautiful. Squishy retails. I hope. See. More You tubes. Ok tina cats
Hii
Can you repeat the shrimp eating challenge?
Because you were infected with Corona and there is no taste in it, so I want to know what it tastes like .
Keep going 👋
Could you implement the green water algae system on fish other than goldfish?
yes, it is used by many guppy breeders in other countries.
Did goldfish eat the roots of pothos?
Could this work with other stiles of filters?
There's some fish in your pothos
Name a goldfish iceman or Jack and Jill will burn your basement down
how long until his aqua scaping arc?
I'm guessing you haven't had this tank set up ver long.
I have a 40 gallon with a monstera growing in it....at 20 months the entire tank is basically a root ball....there are gambusia in the tank, and occasionally I see one.
the monstera is magnificent, leaves 20"" long ......
I put about a tablespoon of epsom salt in that tank once a month...never change the water.
How do you stop those photos from going big? My photos are the size of a plate
You need couple of corydoras here, and the setup will be complete...
Plus a few shrimp, too. Those root systems would be absolutely perfect for them...
More filters than fish - lol! but hey it works :)
❤️🔥
Are you guys fine😂😅😢
How should you go about doing a water change after not doing one for ages
I have read to do it bit by bit over time, like 10% a day for so many days, then maybe a larger amount is all is going well.
Mr Clean update, Luke?
Hi
If luke replies imma eata golden fish
#futurefatherfish
I have been trying to grow pothos in aquarium for like 2-3 months now. No success, they grow very small new leaves and growth is extremely slow!
Am I doing something wrong?
Is it getting any UV light? While they don't require a lot of light, they do still need a bit.
Luke this is just a suggestion but, Why don't you scape that tank?
Try aquatic plants
my ph is 8.2. Is this too high? thanks
Looking forward to when this tanks explodes with guppies!
Are water conditioners safe for plants or do I have to use something special?
Water conditioners are usually safe for plants
@@Ceretrea thank you
If anything they're beneficial. Most plants don't like the chlorine in tap water, especially bare-rooted ones like that pathos.
Hey Luke, one day I plan to have a pothos guppy system for guppy beauty as well as healthy live food for other aquatic animals. I have already successfully propagated a pothos in a pot. What substrate do you use? How long do I need to cycle before optimal bacteria for this system to grow?
Are you gonna be selling guppies?
Luke needs to make a sexy lumberjack edit.
Guppies Are the Best beginner fish! You only have to do a water change once a month!
First like!
Zero water chage tank cool how many filters you have ?
27 filters, the more the better.
Oh i see...
what type of plant was he using here 1:13 ???
Pothos plant hope this helps👍
@@flowjo4038 thank uuuu
Not many fish..... i think with the amount there, it'll stay clean for a very long time.
With the fish in there it won't be that way for long.
Mr clean???
People of the internet, i have a question: I have a 120L tank filled with Guppies, Platies, Danios and Neon Tetras, but my plants are not the best of the world. Which plants do y'all recommend?
I really like Wenditiis and cryptocorynes! Also my all time favorite is Ludwigia Pernuensis! I order all of mine from Modern Aquarium online store!
@@MacandCheese10018 thanks internet man, i'll make sure to add them to my aquarium. Wish you a great 2024!
