My ZERO WATER CHANGE tank system

  • This kind of tank may be good for people just getting into the aquarium hobby and looking for something easy to handle without much maintenance or room for error. In some cases, an eventual water change may be needed, but if the plant load is big enough and the fish load is small enough, sometimes these systems can maintain themselves. If you want to buy goldfish pellets head over to lukesgoldies.com

Beautiful tank, I know you know more about this than me, but personally I would get rid of all of the sponge filters, and replace them with a 60 gallon filter, it would be more aesthetically pleasing, and easier to manage. You don't have to go triple filtration on a tank with fish that don't produce much waste like goldfish, especially since the tank is loaded with pothos plants.

Just the leaves, not the root system. That's why you keep the vine out of the tank. Plus that part shouldn't be submerged anyways. Pothos is overall rather safe and has been used in the hobby an aesthetic nitrate sponge for decades.

While having a bunch of filters doesn’t “hurt” anything there becomes a point where you’re wasting money. You can have endless supply surface area for beneficial bacteria you will only grow enough BB that your bio load can support. So many people think more filtration is better but many times it’s not beneficial or necessary. Also pothos can grow completely submerged.
