I'm super excited for Aquatica. My wife and I played it on the cruise earlier this year and found it to be fantastic. Such a nice Engine building game. The new wild manta's look more pink in the video, but I agree that they still look a little hard to read. I'm surprised that they didn't use white instead.
White is used by the 5th Player.
Is there a specific SKU number to ask for? My game store was not sure which version I’ll get if I order through them and said they saw no changes to the SKU...
So hopefully I'll actually get a hold of a copy in Scandinavia.
ah I hoped they fixed the card quality in the new version. I'm no expert in card materials, but it didn't feel very durable when I played it in Essen. And now that I see these beat up cards in Toms copy, I'm not surprised.
Card quality was upgraded :)
@@ArcaneWonders great! the concept of the game felt great and if you weren't sold out at Essen we would have gotten it as our souvenir. But now we'll wait for this version ;)
To be fair, Tom's copy survived the Dice Tower Cruise AND Dice Tower West. The cards were pretty beat up by the time the game made it to Vegas. I blame shrimp cocktail fingers.
If these are upgraded I’d hate to see the old ones.
This one is a must sleeve.
They should have outlined the manta graphics with white borders to make them pop on the dark manta color.

I agree! apparently uk release is Nov 2020, that could change though
UK retail should be able to order it through their distribution, but with the additional travel time I would expect it to arrive in November versus end of October.
I’ve already preordered mine on miniature market but not sure which version it will be, can someone tell me?...

How do you get the new version versus the old one? Maybe that's a rookie question!
I believe if you buy it from any retailer when it becomes available, it’ll be the new version. The first edition has been sold out for quite a while.
Only the new version will be available when it hits retail
I just received my game and found that the mantas aren’t that difficult to read. Play in a well lit room and they are fine.
One thing I did notice is that the location cards are an off size so sleeving will be difficult and the spot they go in won’t fit the cards sleeved. The spot already is to small for the cards and a couple of the cards slide out of the insert. It should’ve been deeper.
Just some things I’ve noticed.

Your local retailer should be able to get it for you once we have released in (Oct 28th).
This is the game where you're supposed to slide cards inside slots on your player boards, right? I think there was something about those slots not being large enough to handle sleeved cards in the original printing; are the slots in the new printing the same size or did they change them?
From what I can tell, the slots are the same size. The location cards are the only cards I have not sleeved for this reason.
It would be nice to mention the forthcoming expansion that is due to appear☺
We will have the expansion very shortly after Cosmodrome releases it. Printing is starting up soon :)
New version, two players, seems awfully short. I own and have played.
With the new Matrona rule and only 18 cards in the ocean deck. And one of the end game conditions being the ocean deck running out.
Also, baffling to me that the other Mantas do not have white writing. Would have been 1000% better
