    It’s obvious people don’t like AJ’s intelligence, this young man is smart. Just keep working hard young blood. If Wilder is not interested in getting your belts, or making a mark in history, then he is as good as a talented bouncer and will just be remembered for being a harder hitter. Don’t allow anyone to pressure you into making regrettable decisions. You said it perfectly well, many people want to see you fall and I believe it’s because you’re not average but yet humble enough to say publicly, you need to train more and gain more experience. Stay real. I respect you young man. Handle your business.

    • @TheShademaker
      @TheShademaker Před 5 lety +7

      PsalmTwentiSeven I don’t think people want to see him fall. I believe people want to see the two biggest names in the sport fight at the peak of their physical ability. Joshua is the younger man by 5 years, the better boxer, and just as big. We are trying to understand that if he’s making the money he’s making, why not make the fight. Wilder has the only other credible title of any heavyweight. His legacy will have a big question mark if he doesn’t face the two other undefeated fighters with a claim to the heavyweight crown in Fury and Wilder. I don’t care how many times he defends his titles at this point. I want to see him cement his legacy against these guys while in the prime of his career. This kind of behavior is why so many pundits will never consider Mayweather the greatest of all time. It’s not about having an 0 at the end of your record, otherwise Marciano would have been favored over Ali, Foreman, Frasier, Tyson, Holyfield etc and he is not. No disrespect to Rocky, but these guys are remembered and favored because they risked it. Because as much as boxing is a sport and a business, at its core it’s still just a fight between two men. And that’s the part of the legacy that matters to viewers. He can invest 30 million today and live more than comfortably 40 years from now.

    • @PsalmTwentiSeven
      @PsalmTwentiSeven Před 5 lety +3

      The Shademaker your comment is one of the most realistic and mature one I have read so far regarding the circumstances surrounding AJ, Wilder and Fury. Respect my brother. I believe AJ will fight any of these men and knows he has to fight them but people should not have to dictate to him how he’s going to get there. I disagree with you on one aspect, that is when you stated AJ as being at his prime. In my opinion AJ is not at his prime yet. AJ is starting to come out of his shell, realising he has a great potential that requires a lot of hard work before it manifests. It would be dumb for him to risk something he has worked hard for because of ego. At the same time he knows inevitably he has to fight these guys. Of course Wilder and Fury also knows where AJ’s weaknesses and strengths are and they would prefer that he doesn’t get the time to master certain areas of his boxing skills before they meet because AJ is unpredictable and learning more about his strengths. AJ is a humble fighter with a lion heart. He has the ability to become great or greater and maybe a legend.

      Dang, I appear to be seriously late to the party, but please I hope someone sees this comment and replies back. I have this question, in regards to what Max Kellerman was getting at. So, do you Max, or ANYONE else, think that Joshua should just go ahead and agree to this fight with WIlder, on WILDER"S TERMS, just to make the fight happen ?
      We know that fighters talk, and hype, and spin, to generate interest and what not, along with having egos. We know there is a business side to boxing. Is anybody saying to Wilder, "If YOU want this fight so badly, why don't YOU just accept Joshua's terms, and fight him on April 13th ? I am TRYING to be completely objective here, and cut through Wilder's trash talk, claiming that Joshua is straight up chicken sh*t to fight. I'm saying, I could be wrong cuz I just don't know, but it does appear to me, from a neutral standpoint, that both Wilder and Fury are somehow jealous in some way, and the ACTUAL issue, is that they hate the fact that Joshua is trying to dictate the terms and prize money shares, of said potential bouts, so they are resorting to bawk bawk chicken calls. AJ is playing it smart here. He's not getting caught up in the promotional and commercial shenanigans. The goal is to unify the titles and has been all along, glad to see he's not lost focus.
    Let's be honest, Wilder has been in the game for 10 years and has one title. AJ worked his way to four in 5 years. Wilder is trying to take a shortcut and yet still wants an equal cut. Even Wilder fans should realise how ridiculous a position that is.

      I don't know much about the heavyweight scene in boxing but don't you think that the reason Wilder has one title in 10 years because the American boxing scene is more competitive than the UK one? What I found out in MMA is most undefeated non American fighters who decide to go to the US to fight in a credible organization like the UFC they get exposed big time because that is where the real competition is.

      @@rockbottom109 By that logic, Wilder should be a superstar. He's undefeated with most of his wins coming by knockout in one of the most competitive scenes in boxing. He's also hugely marketable.
      Think about it in MMA terms then. In a stacked division a few wins is all it takes to get noticed. Boxing is different of course but the principle is the same. The fact is Wilder has built his name off of beating journeymen which isn't enough to gain any kind credibility. As soon as he's stepped up in competition, he's been noticed.

AJ has the belts & marketing cache as far as his earnings go per fight .. but the hype & attention around him is dwindling .. his fights are boring & underwhelming & the hype is around Fury & Wilder now based off their clash & AJ has to really make a big decision now as I don’t think laterally & head movement wise he is even half as slick as Fury, so I doubt Wilder’s anxiety would get the better of him when chasing the KO .. I’m just happy it’s time whether it’s April or September .. the fights we NEED to see shall begin to happen

I think financially they both want to get as much as they can out of the fight, but their unique position with the belts is making it super difficult to confirm a deal which they both feel is fair to them as both have everything to lose and everything to gain. Eventually, it will happen out of public demand. Fury's position in boxing at the moment just made it easier for his fight with Wilder, coupled with his lack of interest in the money.

      By far the most sensible comment on here, and it's spot on. Joshua gets what, $25million per fight apparently? So say the $50million offer from Wilder earlier in the year was legit, Eddie Hearn is thinking "Hang on, we can have 5 fights in the UK vs guys like Takam over the next 3 years that will make us $125million, so why take the fight against Wilder for less than half that and risk blowing everything?". It's a business too, and people need to decide do they just want to make maximum money or do they aspire to sporting greatness?

I agree, the media find it much more interesting to create a division between the two, they say one is ducking and the other wants to fight... vice versa... that’s what stimulates discussion, that’s what stimulates arguments between fans. You can see this with these interviewers.
      It’s due to the unique situation they find themselves in with the belts, and their financially driven agents! At this moment they’re happy with the building hype, which will make the fight even more lucrative. I hope they both make a shed tonne of money, agree the fight, and give everyone what we want to see for the good of the division!

    They should've checked AJ by saying you can say Wilder got a draw but at least he stepped up to the challenge. AJ continues to duck both. If Fury is walking around saying he's the lineal champ AJ didn't win the belts. AJ should step up and fight Fury to prove he's Worthy of having the belts given to him.
