    Yesterday I went to pay some bills and the lady at the post office commented on my biker rings... I told them I'm a metalhead, and I was listening to this song on repeat, so I scribbled down the name of this song and gave it to her. She said she has a 13-years-old son who's big into metal - I bet he's listening to this song right now! This is how good metal spreads in the world.

      @Betonoszlop -- dude I had no idea. I had only gotten into Borknagar through Winter Thrice, then Universal, and was hooked when I heard about the new album. But even though I had been a fan of Arcturus and Dimmu Borgir, I had no idea Vortex was in Borknagar (ok: again) as well. So this full dose of Arcturus extravaganza in Up North got me like "the fuck?". Awesome though. I guess on Winter Thrice, their keyboarder was more prevalent with his softer voice? I am only now beginning to distinguish between them.

      @@MensHominis Dudo, Borknagar have 4 different singers- Vortex, Lazare, Garm , and Wintersorg. They only appear in certain eras/albums, as each mostly has another project or 2 to work on. I think it's a great idea, as it gives different albums different 'feels'. As far as I know, "Winter Thrice" is the only album that has them all. Better late to the party than never my man! And Arcturus slay. 😉

    This song is simply amazing, a joyful and elevating musical trip. This is probably my favorite Borknagar song ever. I have been listening to Borknagar since 2000, when they released Quintessence. Colossus and The Stellar Dome ranked as my favorite songs, but I think Up North might top those.
    I find it extremely remarkable that after 25+ years as a band, Borknagar is pretty much in their prime, releasing songs as good as or even better than the past ones. There are very few and rare metal bands (or musicians in general) that we could say the same.

    I just found this band. And...his clean voice at first hearing their newest song Summits was not clicking for me. Then I listened to Winter Thrice, and it got better.     I have not listened to metal for like ~15 years, but tonight I came across a metalhead, and I started to recommend all sorts of bands I remember from back then, linking him songs from youtube.     The beginning is like Uriah Heep on steroids and the rest of the song is also great! You can feel the energy everywhere! And man, Vortex is amazing!

    Damn! This song is so pure and good! Lord Vortex in full effect!
    You can tell he is a Neil Young fan (that's good) the way he ends "fallen men go back to START" Very Neil young sounding! I hope they do more songs like this.

    Well, all I can say my 1,5 year old kid is into Borknagar. Everytime we search for cartoon Borknagar pops in my recommandation and he always ask for Up North and sleeps to Winter THrice. We love you guys!
