Lyrics:
We are spirit bound to this flesh
We go round one foot nailed down
But bound to reach out and beyond this flesh
Become Pneuma
We are will and wonder
Bound to recall, remember
We are born of one breath, one word
We are all one spark, sun becoming
Child, wake up
Child, release the light
Wake up now
Child, wake up
Child, release the light
Wake up now, child

I'm 52 from the UK. Tbh I'd never heard of tool before. I heard them on Spotify a few weeks before the new album came out. Where have I been? This band is like my new drug now, always on where ever I am. What a time to be alive and finding this musical art.
I am 15 from the US and I've been listening to this band since I was eight or nine. It's kinda cool and funny seeing all of these new people come in and being like "wow, what's this new band on spotify and how are they already at #1?"
Welcome aboard, brother!
I’m jealous, honestly. I’d love to re-discover all the rabbit hole gave me. Enjoy the trip!

Just the drum track alone is a masterpiece. Perfectionist beast of a drummer Danny Carey is pushing 60 at 58, Justin Chancellor 47, Maynard 55, Adam Jones 54. Much respect to these legendary musicians. Timeless music. Astounding release, thank you!

When I first discovered Tool in 1993, I was convinced this band will be able to answer all my questions, where do we come from, who created the universe, what happens after we die and all these basic questions. I never got an answer, but at least I stopped asking myself these questions...
You're comment earns honest kudos. 🎉

@@darylabbott2032 very bold of you to state smth like that under a tool song
A man wanted to know who created the universe so I just let him know to read his Bible for the answers. That is the best tool.
@darylabbott2032 Look personally I don't really believe in any religion as I don't believe in the existence of God that however doesn't make me an atheist as I don't believe in the not existence of God either, I simply chose to believe that I do not know and whatever path I follow would simply be subjectively correct.
I won't try to convince anyone to believe or not believe, at the end of the day following a religion is much more to actual believers than simply knowing who created everything, but I absolutely cannot stand people who hold their beliefs and hypothesis as something factual, it's completely respectable and understandable to believe but stop pretending that you know without a doubt at 100% capacity that your reality is the one and only reality.
Now that seems targeted towards you and it really isnt as I know nothing about you, I'm just generalizing for better or worse

Greatest band ever.
there was an interview about this, if not high quality u miss on most their genius
Which headphones did you choose from Bose?
It's crazy how much they layer their music. I've listened to a lot of their isolated instrumentals and I love the little ghost notes and accents each member brings. Even Maynard whispers ad libs and makes sound effects in certain songs
@@ups438 The New Bose QuietComfort Wireless. I am very happy with them and the sound quality is absolutely amazing. Received from Amazon Nov 20, eligible for return thru Jan 31, 2024! Plenty of time to decide if I want to change to something different. The noise cancelling in these is also amazing. There is a button that toggles it on and off so if needed, you can hear exterior (outside the headphones) sounds for safety or your phone.... When turning them on they automatically link to paired devices.
There is a slight audio sync delay with video over wireless. If just listening to music only it is fine. My Smart TV has optical and HDMI-ARC audio output, but no ability to adjust audio sync. These headphones have a 3.5mm audio aux input. I am reviewing 4K HDMI-ARC to 3.5mm audio extractor to add to the TV so I can plug in a 20 foot aux cable when watching TV, (I have hearing loss that makes this necessary for me).

Every day since its release, I've listened to this song on my drive to work. Three years and never tire of it. It sets my focus on what matters most, Pneuma 🌠
I am a TOOL fanatic and I dug my heels in when it came to listening to this album. I waited on pins and needles for it to drop and when it did, I listened to one song and left it alone. At the time, it seemed dark and strange. For the past week, I've been all over this album, devouring every note and rhythm like a tooth fairy in a crack house 😂. I can't get enough. Musically, it's their most GENIUS to date. The rhythms are INSANE. I was a music major, I know my music theory well, but he stumped me on this one, bad, and when I finally googled the time signature...my jaw hit the floor...33/16 😮😮😮. The crazy syncopation and hemiola, I immediately went into trying to conduct, and could NOT. Our college class only went to 12. This was far beyond what I know. Genius freaking genius! Maynard you freak of music nature, I love you!!! The fact that all 4 of you vibe on such an astronomical music level, I'm on my knees, face to the ground, Musical Gods is what ya'll are. I think every music major in their senior year (choral or instrumental) should sight read and conduct a song from this album. If you can pull it off, you are truly ready to perform or go teach young musical minds to to think outside the matrix box (had to put some music nerd in there somewhere 😅) ...my mind is truly blown. What an album ❤.
I didnt think I could be so hyped by a new album ...I'm 50 years old....
Same here, just turned...Tool RULES THE UNIVERSE! I’ll still be listening to them when I’m 80!
Never too old to get hyped about the things that you love!!
I too am just turned 50 and have been waiting since my late 30's for this. I feel I may never hear another new tool album...
I'm 51 and went out to midnight release of this CD, I haven't done that in so long. TOOL RULES!!
@@zepols86 60 years old here in Germany. Love Tool since the beginning. Like fine wein.
I will be jamming this album for years to come. This is a historic day my friends. God I can’t stop smiling like an idiot. This is too good. I feel truly lucky to be alive to listen to this work of art. Long live Tool.
Same here, I was counting the days down and my anxiety was telling me I might not live to see this day. Fuck you anxiety. I have found an inocolum to fight you with! He he he!
My feelings. They somehow ruined my mid 20's and early 30's by not being there with new music. I mean how many times can one listen to vicarious.
I feel so sorry for all the fans that passed away without being able to hear the new album... Rip guys.
Your so right. Theres so much to unpack and dissect! It will be an amazing journey.
Same, yesterday I hit a point so low, hell the past month or so has been utter chaos and depression. Worth it to listen to this new album, to internalize the words, and honestly feel anew.
at 7:45 that soft overlay of the guitar always gives me goosebumps. its an indescribable feeling listening to this song, its truly a work of art.
They’re insane, I just noticed that today and it gave me a whole new perspective on the song, the moments I was thinking about etc. they’re insane.
First time listener here. This must be the apex of drumming complexity. It's simply insane, never heard anything so unique.
Tool is the only band that can drop an album with almost every song over 10 mins and never lose my attention... Through the entire album...
Charles Shank man even as someone with ADHD my concentration and attention is heightened with Tool. I can listen to hours and hours of Tool and no get bored or lose attention. It triggers my brain like no other music does.
Man that is awesome that you have found a band that helps you that way, music speaks to the soul it is such a shame that people spend their entire life without finding what actually speaks to theirs
How does one not automatically feel the energy of when an inverted white hole goes back to black.... Damn.... That's some energy...
Old opeth does the same with me too. Grabs you and takes you on a journey 🤘
The songs may be long, but they always evolve so that it seems like you're really just listening to 2-3 good songs in a row.
. [Verse 1:]
We are spirit bound to this flesh
We go 'round, one foot nailed down
But bound to reach out and beyond this flesh
Become Pneuma.
[Chorus:]
We are will and wonder, bound to recall, remember
We are born of one breath, one word
We are all one spark, sun becoming.
[Verse 2:]
Child, wake up
Child, release the light
Wake up now, child
Wake up
Child, release the light
Wake up now, child.
[Interlude:]
Spirit
Spirit
Spirit
Spirit.
[Verse 3:]
Bound to this flesh
This guise, this mask, this dream.
[Chorus:]
Wake up, remember
We are born of one breath, one word
We are all one spark, sun becoming.
[Outro:]
Pneuma
Reach out and beyond
Wake up, remember
We are born of one breath, one word
We are all one spark, eyes full of wonder.
TY 4 LYRICS
Thanks for this!
thx
Thank you very much!! Like those lyrics to be first ....
Thanks man
Danny Carey is truly amazing - I can't comprehend how you could begin to write something as inventive as this. He has created a whole new boundary for drummers like myself and consistently pushes the limits of drumming.
I just got into TOOL and this song is an absolute masterpiece
Welcome to the family
@Query_Rejected well I don't care because I've been into this kinda music for years lol just older stuff like pink floyd, led zeppelin, Alice in Chains
@Query_Rejected nirvana is good but Alice in chains in my opinion is better also idk I feel like kurt killed himself but definitely interesting
@@tjprptchable AiC and Tool are my #1 and #2 favs ever, and welcome!
❤❤❤❤
Other people: Tool's songs are way too long.
Tool fans: Dammit! It's over already?!
Ok
Agreed! Time flies!
I don't think the complaint of songs being too long ever had something to do with the actual length of the song.
What matters is if you were entertained throughout the runtime.
Yesterday I was at a bar where there was an event in which they played songs from Tool, A Perfect Circle and Puscifer. I listened to their songs for the first time ever and I thought the songs were too short :D
Exactly. How can you say you enjoy music if you ain't willing to spend time with it.
The percussion in this track is phenomenal. Danny Carey is one the greatest of all time.
Not one of, he is the greatest period.
@@jbitts agreed 200% !!
This entire album is Danny just givin it hell.
Danny Carey will always be my favorite percussionists alive those bongo beats man make me melt.. and so does Justin on bass man I love that line he has in invincible but this album lacked my favorite from tool MJK with these 10 - 15 min songs I wanted more... what we got was great just needed more... Adam picked up the slack though on this album for sure wow so many great licks the end of descending through me through a spiral
@@manbun_tech7417 joey isnt anything TOO special, just really fast double bass and nothing too fancy after that. Danny is way more technical, and Id say just as fast (judging from chocolate chip trip) and dont forget hes 58 or something
Saw TOOL play this live on Friday. The best!!! He is such an excellent performer! This was a BEAUTIFUL song to hear live as all of his songs are. I am so grateful to have experienced seeing him live!
Tool saved my life. Sad, but true.
Not sad, thank you for remaining.
They have saved many lives
Music critics: "People don't want to spend more than 5 minutes listening to a song"
Tool: "Hold my 12 minutes"
Heard of post-rock?
Bands can’t make a song good enough to hold ur attention for 5 min anymore, let alone 12. Thank u Tool.
(Pushes glasses up the bridge of his nose) Well to be technical the song is 11 minutes and 55 seconds.
(Book flies across room) EEH
Shut up nerd!
Metallica, 1986: "Hold My Eight And A Half Minutes"
@@coultersheppard2052 I used to think Metallica had long songs.
Dude Tool fans have the best CZcams comments ever lmao. The positivity is so refreshing.
Robin that has to be the lamest comment i’ve read, but i still relate to it on a spiritual level.
@@parkergray4834 Whos Robin? lol.
@Randall I agree, every song I listen to on here by Tool I will scroll down and read like 10-15 comments and peoples replies and when I read some of the comments it makes me so happy because for a long time it seemed people (outside of the true fan base) percieved Tool as a depressing "heavy metal" and too much screaming type of band (honestly, that's words I've heard people used who hadn't actually bothered to take the time to actually listen), but now I'm seeing people coming from every corner of the galaxy to make a positive remark and to celebrate such beautiful music. Another great thing is the comments I've read about people just discovering Tool for the first time, or Taylor Swift fans came to listen just to see what the fuss was about and seems like most of em get hooked on Tool immediately and keep saying "why haven't I been listening to Tool forever" and "wow I thought I wasn't going to like this, but here I am falling in love with Tool". hahahaha Tool transcends genre's, time and space and if there is by some crazy chance a God :P out there.... then it listens to Tool too.
poop
ROFL yes, agreed ....
There's also a ton of misguided "positivity" but i guess humans will be humans.
Fuck me this song is good. Cant believe they came back with this banger after all those years
One of the greatest songs ever made🤘🏻
My good mate who absolutely loved TOOL has just unfortunately passed away after losing his battle with cancer, he was only 38. We only seen them live once, in Prague 2019 & we were both due to go see them this year in Manchester, UK. This was one of his favourite songs off the new album. I will always think about him whenever I listen to this and will bring happiness and good memories spent with him. This song will be played at his funeral.
Rest easy Brother.
so do you have a spare ticket going? i would be willing to fly from australia to honour your friend.
@@Sintesi. that's proper cheeky, but you gotta ask aye, cobba!
Hey man thank you for sharing that. Very sorry to hear about your mate. Just started exploring this album I'm not disappointed
Life and what is around us is much to special for it all to just end with our physical deaths. You will see your friend again.
Saw these guys lastnight in Tampa Florida. Fucking incredible. They played this song. Almost drove off the goddam second tier.
I am not bullshitting when I say I'm glad I got to live long enough to hear this!!!!
So glad I survived 2 heart attacks to get to this point, so i understand you well good sir :D
+1
I thought I was going to die during my last stroke, so I feel it is a blessing to be alive to hear and witness this
I regret not listening to TOOL sooner in my life. Its been about 10 years, but it should be longer. Forever greatful to the friend who sat me down and introduced me to their music properly
Seeing Tool in concert in Charleston, WV for first time in November. Can’t wait!!
Typical Tool...
First listen: “Wow, this is fantastic.”
Second listen: “This is the new anthem to my life.”
Third listen: “Please play this song at my funeral.”
Accurate. But for me it's more like: three times, six times, nine times to get that effect.
Too true
I had this on repeat Spotify and fell asleep to it. It’s just shockingly great.
Third listen: "This is my new allegorical elegy"
Right on!
My dad was a big
fan to them I'm sad he didn't get to hear this he probably jamming out rn with me, rip
long lost neighbor ? Same here
Your dead is Pneuma
This broke my heart
RIP
I think Tool transcend life and death. Your Dad probably heard this before we did. RIP
Danny might be the best ever to hit the drums. Legend
Gavin Harrison , Porcupine Tree, Anesthetize live Tillburg ?
I'm 5 hours into a Tool binge. How are these guys SO GOOD???
Today is a historic day in history. It’s truly an honor to comment not only on a Tool video, but on their newest album
Hahaha hell yeah it is! Now let's just wait another decade lmao
Historic in history
I was imagining this album being played live in the Roman coliseum. A truly significant day in history
And probably their last album.
Hate to say it. But something tells me this is it.
@@troyb4533 I agree, something tells me after this they're bringing Tool to an end. They'll want to end on a good note.
I'm one billion years old and I think this is a great band
Well shit it took 559,000,000 years for this album to come out so you may be a long time fan for all we know!
29,000 here I'm a baby
But one time they said 17.000.000 so who knows
I am 13.8 billion years old and they are good. 👍
you are young for me 👴
This song is a bit of everything. Grunge, disco, progressive metal. But yet it's totally Tool. No other band could pull this off. Greatest band ever.
well, what about porcupine tree ? they are on the same level especially live.
King Gizzard - PetroDragonic Apocalypse. Crazy music, very similar to Fear Inoculum at times.
Been a tool fan since I was in my 20s. I'm 55 now & still a fan.👊👊👊👊
My favorite Tool album turns out to always be the one I'm just listening to.
theyre all so good I also cant pick one
Yeah...my fav track?
All of em.

You hit the nail on the head homie!! I 🤘
Danny Carey is an absolute BEAST of a drummer, even at 58 years old.
So is ...Lars Ulrich at age 56 ..

Just wanted to listen to this masterpiece again.

Yep, listened to a few tool songs before but not many, so I saw that video and this sounded great I so decided to check it out
Literally went straight from drumeo to this lol

Just discovering Tool in my 55th year on the planet. They are brilliant and Danny Carey is an incredible drummer.
Welcome aboard !
Danny Carey never ceases to amaze
GREAT!!

*THE 13 YEAR WAIT IS OVER*
Angry Chair we made it brother
AMEN
I waited just over half of my life for this.
See you in another 13 years:)
Hell yes or about time or fucking A. Yippy kay ya!!!
My young brain couldn't properly process and appreciate Tool for what it is when I was listening in the 90s.
My older brain is getting to enjoy Tool all over again.
I like to think Tool albums are like great books, & each song is a different chapter, but part of the same story. Phenomenal band, no one even close to their greatness.
I needed this album
To breathe, To Feel
To Know I’m Alive.
David Sekowski i see what you did there lol
Turn around, take my CD
you need an ayahuasca trip
and to keep that sick edge.
Nice!! 😊
Im 83 and love this band
This is perfect as the music blends into the phenomenal lyrics and back into the music. Haven't been mesmerized by a tune like this one for ages.
Same, it's almost unbelievable when you dig in and listen. A true masterpiece among masterpieces.
This isn't a song. This is a journey. Thanks for coming with us.
Well said. You been to a Tool concert? If not, that is where the journey truly takes flight…

1:15 into my first listen and I've got simultaneous chills and tears. But then... it's Tool. Truly.
BegToDiffah as I passed this comment, i was holding back a tear. 2 songs in and I'm almost crying loll
Brb. Just going to cut some glass with my nipples.
been a fan since 94, for the last 3 years ive been dealing with repeated traumatizing betrayals from my psychopathic wife of 20 yrs, ive submerged myself in psychology for the last 6 months. i have come to realize that Maynard too has dealt with someone from cluster B . the assertiveness in his voice tells me im not alone, this band has always been there for me, keeping me alive now.
Father Maynard teach us, father maynard guide us, in your wisdom we are sheltered, in your mercy we are humbled, by your music we are saved.
I truly hope you’re not with that extremely toxic woman! Live and love life just like this amazing song! You deserve better than that leech of life and energy! Keep going forward!!
@@VONidas thank you
Just bought a new speaker. This is its first sound.
I get why these songs are long.... it takes time to take you to the place it wants to bring you. You have to immerse yourself into the music and the results are very rewarding
Their music is a tool to crossing over to a higher state of consciousness.
Listen while on shrooms. It sounds corny as hell but. I beg of you.
The last 3 albums in particular.
I haven’t had a go with this album yet
