He does this when he's had too much to drink. When he holds off, he's flawless.

Unfortunately, you're right.
I mean he's getting up there in age man, try singing that range of clean vocals for 20 years and tell me you'd still be hitting those pitch perfect notes while singing live. And not to be a dick, but Vortex could outsing and outperform any of us at 75 probobly than we could in our entire lives so cut the guy some slack
I saw Borknagar in ‘22 and Vortex was perfect. So much depends on the monitors. Bad monitors equal crap vocals, crap show.
I saw them live a few months ago and I can tell you he definetly can... Even with no soundcheck and crap installation it was great.
