why does this women feel the need to get feminist about things? i have been skating since 85. i have always wanted girls to be more into this. some people have to act like they arent wanted and they are coming in no matter what when the door was left open with the porch light on. they just dont get it.

Well you're not a woman so you have zero experience being one and trying to break into your local skate space. It's much harder to make the tight bonds with male skaters that they make amongst each other. It took a lot to get into a crew and get invited street skating. Even then I'm a little bit of an outsider due to being female. I get forgotten about sometimes and it's always about the boys. Which is fine but it'd be nice to be included in non skate stuff. Skater guys are weird about females honestly. Also there aren't any other women serious about skating in my area, and I live in a medium sized city. So it's not as roll out the red carpet as you claim. Very few women can even make what I've made happen, happen. I was very very persistent and had to show up for three years before I even got taken seriously. Which is most men's experience too, but you just don't quite get the social pay off the guys do from a lifelong friendship perspective. It can be hard to keep going and dedicating yourself to it when you're not getting everything out of it that the majority of skaters do. These girls on the coast are so lucky there are so many women skating at a higher level. I wish I could move but I'm rooted here.

@@sle_epytight "you're not a woman" and you're being sexist every time you say this. you're trying to tell an entire group of human beings that just because they're not the same gender, they don't understand what other human beings go through. so please tell me what i'm incapable of understanding just because i'm not a woman. tell me what i don't understand just because of my gender. tell me what men don't understand about being human just because they're men. stop being sexist with this "you're not a woman" crap, you're just regurgitating some bs you heard somewhere that you think is an argument, but it's not.

@@i-never-look-at-replies-lol shes saying this bc women experiences are very different from men experiences when it comes to a lot of things. When you are a man youre not gonna understand women experiences, the same way women dont understand men experiences. With a lot of sexism towards women in the past, and even today, men don’t face the discrimination women do, just based off their gender, and if you wanna argue w that u gotta catch up on some books. Im not saying men cant face discrimination because thats not true at all, but when it comes to gender, women are typically the ones being discriminated against.
