@@reinaldopessoa2603 No. That's not true at all. What would make you believe that sponsors' opinions on that would matter?
The only way it could would be if it either brought more viewers or made more viewers tune out in a noticeable way. And how would sponsors even know what's going to work and what won't before they try it?
What has actually happened is that they FINALLY started to read the comments and realized that there are tons of comments stating that the other angle is absolutely despised on every single video and that there are never comments praising the new angle at all.
I won't try to take credit, but I wrote to WTT a few weeks ago and I talked all about improving viewership. One of the things I wrote about was the angle. I asked them if they never read any of the comments and how much people HATE it and how much it's commented about, and how much those comments get liked. The top comments are always about the angle these days, and it's always negative about it. So, perhaps they took what I said under advisement. Idk. Maybe, maybe not. All I can say is that I JUST talked to them about that very issue and they suddenly changed the angle at the very next tournament. Coincidence? Maybe. I have no idea.
Indeed, this is probably the best angle. But let´s be honest: the video quality is so low... Only 1080p in 2023? Cmon...

@@BiscoWho oh so you do okay, I'm guessing you didn't watch the tournament in Macau but any table that isn't table 1 gets this view but because of the sponsors table 1 has to be overhead so the names can be seen the way they want.

Yep, I am not sure if Ma Long was slipping or if he managed to work into the weak point, but the last set was surely a thriller. Looked like Gaston tried to hit that far forehand corner since it seemed to be working. Ma Long started to mix in chopblock to disrupt the pase and often times it ended up giving him an opportunity to forehand. Ma Longs forehand was really scaring Gaston away from the table.
Ma Long's ball placement in the middle won him every single point in which it was used. Insane.
Gaston Alto played well, but Ma Long is another level.

the camera angel is good
Entertaining match and a nice little interaction at the end. So often the Chinese players are quite dismissive of their inferior opponents but Ma Long made a point of looking his opponent in the eye at the handshake and even thanking him for wishing him good luck in the rest of the tournament.
Sorry but I've never seen Chinese player being dismissive of any player, inferior or otherwise.

Whoever is saying this is the best angle, are you talking about the constantly moving camera or the view from behind? If the camera wasn't moving, the angle would be pretty good. I understand why people complain about the side view, but these views combined aren't much better.

Is so sad to hear the female sportscaster making fun of the Latin player, specially on the first set. We all know that Ma Long is the favorite, hers too. But as the match progress you can tell she rejoices on Ma Long's game and is short of good, if any, comments on the opponent’s effort and good points.

While I agree she's not the best sportcaster, there's not much to praise the other guy for when he won 2-3 points per set. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying he's trash it's a great thing to even be in top 128 at the world championship, but the difference in class was to enormous to mention anyone in that match except Ma Long. Had he won 8 points in every set, maybe he could've been praised more.

Is ma long using a different rubber now? I thought he was using hurricane on both sides for a while, but now I see he is twiddling the racket for the smashes
It's a habit from the old days, as far as anyone knows, he still uses double Hurricane

You can tell the other guy doesn't play on very high level often, so he simply wasn't used to it in the beginning. He got better and better towards the end as he started to get used to the speed, placement, and spin etc. This is why simply playing with better players often will raise your level.

3:19 That serve looks super ilegal, can't see where exactly the ball is though at contact point. Ma Long got the point but it doesn't show if it's cuase the serve was flaged or not.
for a lefty yes, for a righty no. However is illegal that he makes the contact point in the table and not out.
It was a let serve. And then Gaston's next serve was a service fault (he tried to do a long fast serve into Ma Long's backhand, but it drifted too long and didn't hit Ma Long's side of the table) which is what led to the score of 3-2 in Ma's favour. Unfortunately, they decided to not show that serve which understandably leads to confusion ...

@@lucaslima4218 Sorry that's not possible, if you make a illegal service, first you are called out and have and attention, second or third time you do it, then you have a yellow card, you can heard that the referee says "let" and Ma Long lift his finger saying that is left, almost nobody player complain if you serve illegal, i only saw 2 players in high level complaining and you can't pause the game if the other player serves illegal, one chinese player got a yellow card for interruping one poing because the rival made an illegal serve. However iIf you use the character "." to check every frame you can see that ma long actually can see the ball because he is right, if ma long were left then the serve is illegal because the left hand of Gastón wouldn't let see ma long. However the serve is illegal because he makes the contact point in the table and not out of the table

Ma Long is considered the GOAT, he's just that good, doesn't mean the opponent is weak.
When Michael Schumacher dominated F1, it didn't mean that everyone else was an amateur, when Michael Jordan dominated the NBA, it didn't mean everyone else was an amateur, it just shows how dominant and extra ordinary these players are.
Amateur? He is on 140 on world rankings... Gaston is a great player, but Ma Long is simply on another level.
