- I loved what drummer Chad Szeliga brought to the band when he recorded the "Phobia" album in 2006 and still think he has the most interesting drum parts for the albums he released with BB. His use of the tight snare sound over a cutting mid range kick and tom sound really stands out. He also uses just about every cymbal as a ride and often switches them up from verse to chorus. Here's one of the most popular songs from the album and one of my favorites to play!
- Hudba
AWESOME!
🤘🤘
You played it flawlessly, great job.
sounds great man - tight drumming ,good chops, yea man well done bro
Thanks for checking it out Steve. I hope to sample SD3 someday if I can work out the equipment!
Very grooving beat pattern. Good going Mike.
Great cover man, love your work!! BB is one of my faves! 👍
Awesome job Mike! Always great to watch. Great cover.
Always a treat to watch boss!
Thanks Lon! Good to see you are still with me🤘
Awesome job my friend! Such a great tune to play. Keep up the great work!
Thank you sir!
Really cool performance, man! Drums sound great! Performance is solid! Love all the camera angles too! Awesome cover all around!
Thank you Kelly! I had as much fun editing this song as I did playing it 😎
Fantastic cover and playing!!
Michael this one definitely gets the blood pumping 💪💪! Your kick syncopation is phenomenal and love the bell dynamics!! The cymbal work is top level!! Loved your groove and intensity! I hope you have a wonderful week ahead brother!👍👊✌️💪😁
Hey thanks Steve-O. No stick trip here, just pounding out a gritty groove. I’m still trying to decide on which Bonham song to record...There’s so many cool grooves on that album
Love it, Mike! The great drummers always make it look so easy!
Thank you Bobby! Highly appreciate your feedback. Yes those great drummers DO make it look easy. Maybe one day I will be one of them! 😂
@@mfournier01 you are an awesome drummer when you make it big don't forget us little ppl who support your channel tix and back stage passes and party w band!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉
@@cherigem Funny you should say that...In Jan of this year I was contacted by Geoff Tate’s (from Queensryche) wife to play for his ban in Europe for a short tour. Unfortunately I had to turn it down. The money was not great and I would have had to quit my job and lose my family’s insurance which ultimately would have put me jobless with Covid happening just a couple of months later! Crazy world
@@mfournier01 wow cool and such a shame this damn virus is just won't go away China out did themselves with this one!! That would of been really cool if it happened. 😪 it was here in 🇺🇸 in November 2019 but didn't let us know anything till march!!!! It makes me so angry I know ppl who got it who died and recovered w still lingering other conditions cause of it....stay safe and you made right choice at this time in the world
Super awesome cover Mike.
Well done mate!
Cheers Paul
Thanks brother! Hope you are doing OK back in the land down under. Do you still have your Roland drums? It’s been awhile since we saw a cover from you my friend
mfournier01 hey mate I sold my TD17 before I moved back to Australia. I still have my TD20 here and also my Sleishman kit as well. The only problem is my living arrangements don’t allow me to set them up. So no covers. Maybe one day...but not in the immediate future unfortunately.
Good job on the cover! And your set up is awesome!
Thanks brother! I’m overdue to cover some more BB songs. How about Breakdown??
mfournier01 sounds good to me man!
Nice Cover. I've been listening to several of the recent videos. The Snare is really hot in the mix and all other pads are buried. It may be my headphones, but I thought I'd throw that out there. Enjoy the covers!
Thanks Adam. Yes you are correct! I have been working hard to try to copy Chad’s snare sound from the album and found I boosted the gain a bit much when compressing the snare. I have since dialed it back and brought the Toms up and crash cymbals down too. Thanks for the constructive criticism and for checking out my channel.👍👍
What no stick tricks on this one? :) I love this song, one of my most favorite BB songs! I am taking a break from making drum covers (Red Gear Music)...kind of in a funk right now. Just don't feel like playing anymore but viewing your videos is always fun to watch. Keep up the great work and I'll keep watching.
Wow bro sorry to hear you are taking a break but I’ve been there a few times too. Sometimes you need to do it to clear your head until something (or someone) new inspired you to get back on the horse. When you do though, I’ll be waiting to see what you churn out. I’m sure it will be great! Cheers bryan
ONE of most favorite. It's a ringtone for for my friend Jane. Dude awesomeness cover they so rock LIVE as well. I'm saving this if you don't mind it's on my request list. So everyone can see it👍💜🎼🥁🔥🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🤘
Glad you enjoyed it Cheri! I have seen them live twice and agree they kill it! I don’t mind being on your list, in fact, I’m honored to share it with many other great drummers here on YT. Rock on girl!🤘🤘🤘
@@mfournier01 YAY!!! Ty. Keep rockn!!🤘
I’m not going to say anything other than this. Fucking. Epic.
Appreciate that man! Cheers
@@mfournier01 no bother at all
Awesome cover!! I am fairly new to the channel, and have an acoustic kit converted with a TD-20 brain and triggers that are more or less homemade. I am thinking of getting rid of it all and just getting a compact VDrums kit. Is yours pretty much stock? Are those Cymbals the ones that came with it, etc? What rack are you using? Thanks, very inspiring
Thank you for the positive feedback and yes, my Kit it the TD-20SX which came with the expanded card in the module plus all of the toms are dual triggers and the silver cymbals. I added the pd-7 and pd-9 pads as well as two more cymbals so I’ve maxed out my inputs. I do run a few vexpressions packs and often build and tweak my own kits to sound like various drum kits from certain albums. Good luck with your TD20. Get the expansion card if you can find one. It’s well worth the money for the upgrade!
Great cover Mike, as all your covers are.
Thank you brother! How u been doing man?
I've had doing an upload in mind for some time, and I've thought about you a lot on that subject man! I must give you part credit for finally getting the first upload of 2 songs by Zucchero uploaded 2 days ago. I was wondering if you thought I'de disappeared so hence the video.... I have my eye on Sultans of Swing and 'Give a little bit by Supertramp next in a day or two. It's always such a pleasure watching your videos. Keep on inspiring and sharing bro.
Brilliant performance Mike! Some epic fills and cymbal patterns. I love the sound of your cymbals. Are you just triggering sounds from the TD-20X?
Thank you for your comment brother. Yes all of the sounds are internal and original to the TD-20x module. Many people do not realize the potential Roland modules because the pre programmed sounds are usually flat and boring but if you take the time to adjust the settings such as compression, e.q., and effects then the quality is much improved! I have been using this module for about 14 years now so I have some experience with it lol! Cheers
mfournier01 Great to know. I have a TD-30 module but haven’t delved into the world of compression and eq yet. I’m using the vExpressions packs which have been done for me but I’d like to learn how to do it myself.
Badger Drums The Vexpressions are a perfect starting point for learning your module better. Try this: Copy one of your favorite Vex kits to an open slot on your SD card. Then look at the settings for the compression/ambience/reverb etc. play with the settings on the snare or kick first to see/hear the difference and since you aren’t messing with the original kit it won’t matter if you screw it up! I have built multiple kits using a VEX kit as my starting point. Then keeping the settings as they are just change the instruments and see how that sounds too. The options are limitless!
mfournier01 Awesome advice! I will give that a go, thanks so much Mike. Much appreciated.
Sounds great Mike!! Like those milky/blurry FX!! The drummer has played with other bands too right? Was he with BLS? Awesome drumming too!!
Yes, Chad Szeliga was/is in BLS and has a new band now, Black Star Riders
@@RedGearMusic_Personal thank you for your reply!!🤘🤘
Bryan Kouba I knew about BLS but not the new band. I’ll have to look into them! Thanks
Can you demons by imagine dragons???
Don’t know that one. I’ll check it out though
@@mfournier01 sweet!
@@mfournier01 any word of you possibly doing a drum cover to demons yet?
Speedy Gamer working on it. Learning a few new tunes to cover. Takes me awhile to be comfortable enough to record it!
@@mfournier01 oh ok. No mean to rush you or anything.
I'm asking everyone to do this can you play shinedown bully for Putin!! For peace n love to Ukraine 🇺🇦 💕 maybe a collaboration? Some are doing it. I thought of you to join in and spread the word. Peace n love tour lol.🤘
