    Big thanks to Aditya, Swarnendu and Urbi for going out of their way to help me film this experience. Also thanks to the various pandal organisers who enabled and allowed me with the camera. I would especially like to mention Deshpriya Park and Mudiali Club.

    I'm from Bangladesh and belong to a Muslim family. Still, every year during the sharodia, I go out to see the mandaps, eat and watch around with friends. Durga puja is not only a festival of Hindu/sanatanis, It's the festival of bengalis, so being a bengali, how can I sit home during this fest? I've a wish to see the puja of kolkata at least once :)

      People fron north who only don't like who have abusive nature about Hinduism and gods
      Some dumb communist bongs thinks Ma durga and Hinduism are different so that they can abuse lord Ram , lord shiv bcz it didn't link with there faith
      Thats the main reason i think

    • @arnabmajumder3466
      @arnabmajumder3466 Před 3 lety +12

      @@Saurabh20000 We don't have abusive nature about god and godess. We love our god and godess in a different way many people from some part of India take that as a abusive way. Because they don't understand bengali culture that much. If someone try to understand bengali culture in a narrow way then he/she find it negative.
      Mostly we believe everything in a Vedic way like there is only one Universal soul known as brhman. All those stories of god and godess are stories for many of us. Though we do puja and keep doing our prayer songs to them but we love those god and godess as our loved once..as our family members... We treat them as our brother, sister, mom, dad kind of types.. Not in any strictly ways.
      I don't know if you guys can feel or understand bengali culture or emotions related our religion. So sometimes that confused other people and they thought we are abusing god or godess. If you stay in bengal, understand our culture, read our books related god and godess, related puranas then you can understand our culture. In bengali culture there are many examples of coexistence of Hindu and Muslim religion related our god and godess stories.
      There are many Muslims sings,makes songs , write stories on god and godess, on stories from puranas in a positive way. Bengali culture is not abusive towards Hinduism. Hinduism is beyond a religion to us. It became emotions to us, not in a strict way. But in a emotional way. Bengal sentiments based on Sri choitanya's influenced sentiment. Who just spreaded love to everyone. I don't know if you can feel or understand what I'hv tried to explain.

      @@Saurabh20000 yes I can understand and I am a Bengali. Yes, I believe you are partly right too. That's the influence of the leftist regime which has gone into the psyche of the last three generations. Ram is was highly revered too as an avatar of narayan but we don't have that many temples dedicated to Him. Krishna is more popular. But we have grown up on tales of Ramayana from our grandparents more than Mahabharata. This durga puja was actually done by Sri Ram and that's why durga puja ends in Vijaya dashami and coincides with Dusshera. Politicians do make silly comments on tv and audience does get influenced by it. All of us. It wasn't uncommon to have raghuvir as the kul devta in old times of bengal.

I have grown up seeing my family bracing up for the puja a month prior to the day it would start... From cleaning every corners of home to puja shopping, the aura that prevails the puja can't be expressed, it can only be experienced..... It's August and we have already started talking about Durga puja 2020, such is the aura of mother Goddess Durga 🙏

    Yes there are many people who dislikes the way Durga puja is celebrated in Bengal.But let me tell you that Durga is treated as daughter here who comes every year to visit her fathers home(considered as Earth ) along with her son and daughters Laxmi saraswati, ganesh and kartick. In Bengal you will never find that Durga Ma is worshipped alone..In puja organised at home the idol is worshipped in 'Ek Chala 'which means that family stays together.Best foods are offered to her during these days just like when your daughter comes home after so many days..father and mother arranges for the best...So this is time of prayer, worship feasting and celebration as our daughter has come home from Heaven..Love from Bengal

I don't know why but I literally started crying when the durga visharjan happend. This proves that the goddess, being a mother to the three worlds, is like a daughter to all the bengali families, who, when comes from her husband's house, brings joy and happiness and when goes, leaves a mark of sorrow on us… plz durga, come fast, we are waiting for you.

The entire journey of 5 days during puja has aptly been put in a frame in the 5 minutes of your video.
