    I'm learning Japanese for a year now and understood about 90% 😭 I didn't expect that especially because you speak quite fast

    When you can understand over 90% of what is said, feels good man. (and my level isn't even that high)
    Thank you so much Miku sensei for making such great content, being both educational and entertaining. 🙏

      💯! I just realized this may be the first realish Japanese I've heard spoken that wasn't slowed down that I actually understood on the first listen. Some days I never thought I'd get here but feels good!

    Haha loved how spontaneous this vlog seemed. “ここはどこだろう" . You seem to be fit for this. Entertaining, informative and educational therefore making this video the best immersion opportunity 👌
    By the way, anyone looking to level up i highly recommend Miku’s course. Although i am N3 level I recently purchased it to refresh and drill the grammar i already know to become more comfortable speaking as that is my priority and in just one week i have seen a massive benefit.

    Love the vlog, but as I have commented on other channels, I understand that these "N5-N4" titles help pull viewers, but most of these vlogs are really pushing it quite a bit for N4 and particularly N5 viewers. I doubt most people preparing N5 will be able to understand much at all, and that could be very demotivating. If I would have found such videos back when I was a beginner, I would probably just have thought I am hopeless and given up.

    • @carmcam1
      @carmcam1 Před 9 měsíci +1

      a way to study this, if you are a beginner, assuming beginner level has already studied katakana hiragana, dissect the video, pick up vocabulary and phrases and put it in a flash card, you might end up pausing the video many times and will take hours to finish a video but the beginner will learn a lot, that is what i do, and I already understand 60-70 percent of what is being said, it took me 7 months of dissecting japanese speaking videos but still, a progress is a progress

    • @Fafner888
      @Fafner888 Před 9 měsíci

      You don't say. Obviously you are not gonna understand anything if you know 10 words. But if you are advanced N5 or beginner N4 you can absolutely understand most of the video (particularly when English subs are provided, which makes the video accessible even to complete beginners). Maybe use this as an opportunity to study instead of complaining.

    • @amarug
      @amarug Před 9 měsíci

      @@Fafner888 I think my point is more that even for most advanced N5 learners (who studied well and knows all the words and grammar), dialogue (or in this case monologue) like this will have a lot of parts that are difficult or impossible to understand, which can be demotivating for beginners. I was not trying to to complain, but thanks for pointing it out, maybe my tone came across poorly on the comment. I am just always worried that beginners don't lose motivation by seeing something unrealistic in terms of level-standards. Thats the time where most of learners give up again, which is a shame. Conversely of course, if you are at N4 level and you understand most of what is said here, then hat's off, you certainly have some mad language processing skills and you will be fluent in no time! As for myself, I subbed to this channel when she started and thats when I started learning Japanese. So sometimes I like to watch her Vlogs because I always enjoy the calm atmosphere and interesting points she discusses, even if it's a "beginner" video. I have passed N2 level, so it is also possible that I can't assess "lower intermediate" that well anymore as I don't exactly remember what I could and could not do back then. Anyway, congrats on your progress and keep it up!! It's the best and most fun thing I decided to do in the past 5 years! :)

    • @Fafner888
      @Fafner888 Před 9 měsíci +1

      @@amarug I don't agree with your reasoning regarding "intimidating beginners". Any language learner who is serious about the language must get used to not being able to understand content in the target language most the time, particularly in the beginning stages. If not understanding doesn't motivate you to study harder but give up then you are not gonna learn the language, and making easier content is not going to help that. I don't think you were being fair to Miku sensei because the video was not unreasonably difficult as she talks about very basic things (I went from point a to b, looked at the sky, the drink tastes good etc.) and she always makes sure to use simple vocabulary and grammar, with plenty of context and explanation for things which might be harder to understand. This is the perfect kind of content for beginners, and if you feel that it's too difficult than maybe do more textbook exercises or anki and return to the video later.
      I also want to emphasize that my Japanese isn't very advanced at all, I've been actively studying for barely half a year, and very casually at that (and I struggle a lot to follow the longer interviews on the channel that go into complicated topics, so I don't think I'm some kind of language genius).

    • @amarug
      @amarug Před 9 měsíci

      @@Fafner888 Yeah fair enough, I watched half the video again and I guess you are right, it's really not half as bad as I thought. I was just burned because I saw a more difficult video labelled N5 of some other channel. Still, I think if you can follow this after half a year or less of study, thats pretty damn impressive. With Japanese in the start, even if you know all vocab and grammar by heart, most people won't understand it well at the start, because it's such a different way of communicating (compared to English, German etc) that we need a lot of practice until our brains can actually make out the meaning of the sentences in real-time. Anyway, well done, you will certainly become fluent faster than most, keep it up! 👍🏻
