During my year long stay near Istanbul in 1985, I spent so much time there. When we would visit the jewelers, the shop owner would send an assistant out for tea for us. I loved the apple tea. Also I loved exploring the older abandoned areas of the bazaar. Very old world back then.

Wow, I had no idea of that specific capability there. I do know that the borders are wide open and a lot of important dealing takes place there. In Oludeniz almost everything is priced in pounds! -'tarotworldtour'

simply2ghetto not so much a rip off, the Turks are great salesmen you have to charm them and to learn how to bargain. It just takes a little maths to work out average prices for things. You bargain then by dropping off 10 TL to the price, the businessman might then agree to go to 5 TL off, you then propose 7 TL. Sometimes it works and sometimes not, be specific when buying, dont get too interested our youll have no money left heh heh.

North Kurdistan (South East Turkey) is a great region to visit too. 30 Million Kurds live in that region. And they mainly speak Kurdish - Kurmanji.
