Lava breaks down from the upper platform!! Massive lava spillover on Aug 5, 2022, Iceland.

  • New Volcanic Eruption in Meradalir, Iceland. Today we witnessed remarkable lava flood as tons of lava broke down from the upper platform. I had to run away in the end as an earthquake hit when I was filming this thing! It was quite scary in fact. Meradalir Volcano Eruption on August 5, 2022. Today I have made my 2nd trip to the new eruption site in Meradalir where I met my friend Julius. The way there was easy but on the way back we got into a bad rain storm with wind. Weather deteriorated quickly. Still it was worth it. Some stunning videos coming soon.

    I love your videos and I am so glad you've gotten an opportunity to come back to the new eruption. But just a suggestion to help improve your videos. Get a microphone wind cover. You can find even the cheap little fuzzball ones that cost $5 bucks will make a HUGE difference in your audio. You will notice an immediate difference in your ability to block out 95%-100% of the wind noise.

    • @BerndFunken

      Ye, i was about to suggest to use a "dead cat" for the microphone (no clue where that name came from xD).

    • @billcarruth8122

      I dunno. I think the wind makes it feel more authentic. Iceland, it's cold and dark most of the time, volcanos spring up out of the ground at random, and instead of crickets for background noise you can have this here hurricane.

    • @IdiotPosterBoy
      @IdiotPosterBoy Před rokem +3

      Looking at how the smoke is blown away by the wind and how it tears at people's clothing, I suspect the weather was a bit past the point where a simple microphone cover makes much of a difference.

      @@IdiotPosterBoy That is simply not true at this day and age anymore. I know from personal experience as well as by the literal thousands of other youtubers who have recorded videos in some of the windiest settings and still managed to get clear audio. They ALL talk about using wind covers to get rid of the wind noise. It is a small investment that will make a world of difference. You just don't understand until someone does a direct comparison for you and then you will wonder why you ever attempted to record a video without one. It makes that much of a difference in ALL settings that it is worth it. How do you think professional film crews are able to get clear audio outside ? You think they hold that giant fuzzy boom mic above the set for nothing ? It works and there is a reason people use it.

    I took a vacation in May to New Mexico and visited an ancient lava sight. There’s two different eruptions in the same area. One is 30 million years old and the newer one is 3600 years old. It’s amazing to see in person. We were on top of mountains where a vast valley lay below n there’s mountains on the other side. The eruption that took place first had some growth n some trees but the newer one was almost completely black. Nothing was growing on it yet. It was a privilege to see it with my own eyes. It was absolutely amazing. I took lots of pictures. There’s even some ruins of homes from the latest eruption which was 3600 years ago. It wasn’t far from the lava. I can only imagine what got buried.
    Anyway, I thought I’d share. Thanks for reading this. 💝🌎💝
