i was just think that there's no more awful sound than one lone thumper making its way around a track. it sounds like it's clipping out and misfiring in every straight/jump.
Max seems like a racer who would perform on any bike. Max and Dean-0 were always w/ the Star guys training so he fits in well. He was kitted with Fly for SX 23 & 24, this ride he has Thor kit on.
I first got to go to south wick in '79' I was 15 I saw bob Hannah in person and thought he was god..lol..wow long ago when things were so very different I miss the good ol' days horribly. 11 years later im riding in the national there i think I rode 89, 90,and 91 I know Hanna was in one of them I remember him blowing by me lol so fun to say and to have rode with the big boys hell yaaa!!!!
Good stuff, I just personally hit the vintage class 40🤦♂️ I've rode with a bunch of pros and freestyle guys, but when I met Rodger, I had a star-struck moment for sure. 😂🏁
really? it sounds like a discordant frog to me. every single straight/jump it sounds like it's struggling with a rev limiter and choking on bad fuel. (i know that's not specific to the bike. it's a 4-stroke thing, but fuck me! it's a lonely, awful sound).
Use to race at Southwick years ago. I still go there to watch the local races and will be there on 6/29. 🙃 I understand that it's Deegan's least liked track.
Great move by Max, hope he can stack some wins on this bike. I know he was supposed to be racing WSX with Firepower which is why he was SX only, I haven’t seen any official updates about WSX but this move makes it seem like it’s dead. Strange as they’ve made some new hires to run it, does anyone think they will do any rounds this year or are they gearing up for next year? Or just hiring to shut down 😂
max didn't want to race mx tbf. it wasn't that FPH didn't want him doing it. it was mutual. I'm super curious about his 2025 contract as well. star does do SX-only deals (e.g., lorezo lopes). so it could be one of those. (he's supposedly racing mx now for smx seeding).

Man… even when Craig rode the 250 for Star, he was 450 for outdoors. They either need to make this class have an age limit or make it its’ own class entirely. One where dudes can make a full career out of riding 250s. I like max and I think this is a great move for him, if Star wants another SX champ he’s definitely a guy to do it, but he’s racing 18 year olds.
The problem is there aren’t enough rides for people in general and especially at the 450 level. Star will have 8 250 guys next season. Plus do you think we should just kick a top 5 rider out of the class because if his age? Did being young hurt any of the riders this past season? The top 18 year olds will be at the top no matter what. Just imagine having a wife,kid,dogs,mortgage etc and turn 25 and your team fires you because “we gotta make room for this hot new 16 year old and you lost the championship by 2 points last year!! I understand the 250 class is the “beginner class” and riders used to be retired by 25-27 but we are lucky to see these guys up into early 30s. There just isn’t a fair way to do thngs

The 250s needs to be its’ own class where certain dudes can decide to make an entire career out of the 250 class. OR… there needs to be a separate privateer class. Where the premiere class is all factory riders. It would open up a heck of a lot of rides for the tops riders. I would hate to see the privateers not in those races, but it might be necessary for the growth of the sport. Also, you never know, having a privateer only class might even help them make more money. Higher finishes means more bonus money. It’s a tough situation, that’s for sure. You never know either, those top privateers might actually get factory rides if more are open….??? 🖖🏻

Has been the last couple years, it's not deep sand anymore just loose on top. I've heard that they've been bringing in sand trying to make it deep again but that takes a lot of time and sand lol

he has stated that he prefers sx at this point in his career. it's also worth pointing out that deano (former teammate) has bad knees, and mx is much more brutal than sx, where he can hide his weakness behind skill/finess. sx is definitely easier on the body. as stated above, it is more popular and generally pays more. /2cents

Indeed I am fully aware of his history. But he will be inconsistent and is viewed maybe with one eye on the WSX. He can win races and in a short run series like WSX figure, but week in week out in normal outdoor or SX will not be in the mix over an extended period. That is his history. He can win but will follow this up with a crash or a average finish.

Second, Europe has PLENTY of DEEP sand tracks that makes Southwick seem rather mediocre so Anstie should not become exhausted. All things being equal, he might get the better of Deegan on this track due to Deegs COMPARATIVE lack of sand racing. The hidden factor is that, right now, Deegs is in ULTIMATE physical condition for racing, completely - and justifiably - confident about his racing ability. However, we cannot ignore the fact that Deegs got tired and dogged this race last year. That is, a medium-tough sand track like Southwick might just be Deeg's Achilles heel. We...shall...see....
