Ghana's hospitality industry is fourth in ranking for profitability in this African country. Ghana is located on the West Coast of Africa near Cote D'Ivoire and Togo. Although the country has a good economy, aspects of the hospitality industry are rather expensive, especially hotels and flights. The reason they are expensive is due to the need for resources like gas and energy. However, since there are a lot of international travelers who fly into Ghana for training and meetings, this has become a serious market for Ghana.

This whole thing fell in Ghana's lap thanks to the smart thinking of a couple of its diaspora (Boris Kodjoe, Bozoma St. John etc.). As with most things West Africa, the people have to do it and scale it (e.g., Nollywood, Afrobeats in Nigeria) and then SLAP the government and national bodies before they eventually wake up. Ghana has always had the whole pan-African thing with Nkrumah and then the Elmina castle so it really is a perfect fit for Black American pilgrimage tourism. So kudos to Ghana on that. Nigeria is more of a bright lights type of place.

There are stares triple the size of lagos with population of less than 5milluin while lagos alone is over 20m. Lagos is over populated because of its financial opportunities. Lagos is the fifth largest economy in the whole of Africa. Means lagos is even richer than Ghana as a country. Only Nigeria as a country & 4 other African countries are richer than lagos. Reason lagos is building its own lite rail lines & I completed am electric lite rail which will begin operation this January. Four more under construction across the state. Even lagos we talking about, there alot of other nationals living in lagos. Not just Nigerians alone. Ghanaians & alot of other African live in lagos. European, Asians, Americans..... etc live in lagos. Lagos has the HQ of alot of multinationals in Nigeria & Africa. All oil companies in Nigeria have their HQs in lagos. So it's not only Nigerians that live in lagos.
Secondly, GDP per capita is slightly higher in Ghana simply because you have lower population. But let's think about it. How much do you have to spend in Ghana as a country compared to what is available to Nigeria?. That's what matters. How much does Ghana make interms of forex annually compared to Nigeria. A country's wealth is measured by GDP all over the world not the per capital because its not as if you're going to share your country's income to individual citizen.
Mind you, Nigeria is richer in gas than in oil & we've not even scratched the surface of gas yet. We're constructing a pipeline to Europe through Morocco for gas supply. We even have all sorts of natural resources too even in the North that hasn't been explored yet. So my brother, Nigeria is a rich country but corruption is the black man's problem.

As for Ghana, You’ll get more than hospitality and tourism from Ghana if you’re not African. Especially if you’re from USA (You can see meek mills even made a video in their presidential villa). Seem ghanians are desperate to prove a point to Americans. If you have a firm and strong heart, and you’ve few dollars to throw here and there; you’ll surely get more from Lagos what you’ll get from Accra. I don’t want to mention other nigerian cities or states which are also safe and hospitable.

and in 2018 our current president Lunch the year of return for the black Americans🇺🇸 also Ghana 🇬🇭 has more slave castles 🏰 than all west African countries and 80 💯 passed through Ghana 🇬🇭 and among the slaves there’re more Ghanaians, and there’s also a slave river in Ghana 🇬🇭 where all the slaves had their last bath before they were taken away, so when they Americans comes and visits all this places they feel rhe connection with our ancestors more here than any other country

Regarding the festive period in Nigeria, Nigerians abroad are flooding into the country like water. Foreigners are flooding in thousands but won't show due to the population in the country compared to Ghana. The Nigerian population is much, Nigerian diasporans are too much and when foreigners come, it doesn't really show. I can even tell foreigners in Nigeria during the festive period are much more than in Ghana. Again activities and shows are all over Nigeria during the festive period, not only in Lagos, both the north and the east and the middle belts are all doing big things during these days compared to Ghana which has one or two places. Bro Afronation is the biggest african music festival and it’s Nigerian owned ,by Smade and obi Asika ,they signed a contract with the ghanian government to host the event for 5 years due to their annual year of return for Africans living in diaspora, because the Nigerian entertainment space has the pull power to bring people to Africa without any doubt and they want to take advantage of the opportunity, most people in Ghana were just there to see the Nigerian music acts.Secondly Ghana is a peaceful country and they have taken it as a responsibility to host year of return for Africans in diaspora, opening their country to foreigners and giving them free ghanian citizenship with the quest for diasporas to invest in the country,...I am not surprised that they are welcoming because in the whole of west Africa or Africa as whole they have the most slave castles, that’s are welcoming they are even foreigners with bad intentions can settle there without any form of fighting back except it’s Nigeria,..When something is free it’s prone to abuse, that is the case of meek mill using their presidential residence for video shoot because they were desperate to be recognized by the world and needed a sort of promo ,promoting Ghana.
I see the comments say Nigeria has insecurity issues and things like that yes but we don’t need someone to promote us ,we promote ourselves with culture and everything possible even down to crime 😂,but seriously ghana wants to be recognized, there are tons of western celebrities that show up in Nigeria but we don’t magnify it because it really adds nothing to us,When Nigeria solve its security issues and invest in tourism,we all know it’s over for every African country,we are the most popular African country,we don’t need promo,I just feel it’s an agenda by the ghanian government because they need it,Nigeria is more welcoming but the atmosphere in our 2 major states are not for tourism 😂😂😂,Nigeria is not a real place

@@samuelgyabaah676 please your country desperately is in need for a promotion because y’all need african Americans and if you go on different social platforms you will see comments from Americans saying they feel like they are being used for monetary purposes because they come to Ghana why because they feel y’all just want investments in your country badly and they don’t feel comfortable with it,that’s what some of them think,Nigeria is promoting itself through entertainment, culture, academics and sad enough some say crime ,what happens if y’all do the same than allowing an American rapper so that for you and disrespecting your country hierarchy in such way, these artiste come to Africa and connect with people and leave ,sometimes shoot a music video but you never hear in other countries they used the president residence for such except it only happens in Ghana why because y’all don’t understand what value means that’s why people who come to your country don’t take y’all seriously, last year you crowned a white woman as a king in Ghana, last two years your artiste sark and stonebwoy was interviewed in Paris cos of their show there, they said they only want white people in their show ,they clearly stated they don’t want to see ghanians, that’s how obsessed and desperate y’all are to colonizers, the main site in Ghana,y’all promote is the castles for slaves and it’s sad,but after that what next,Kenya,Tanzania are the main tourist zones in Africa but you never hear them magnifying these visits from foreigners or trying to beg an artiste for collaborations because he came to your country that’s how the disrespect starts from because there’s no value ,y’all already given them power as gods,it’s sad.Have you seen comments from ghanians then you will be shut because u know nothing,Ghana is investing heavily in tourism while the economy is drowning and these foreigners now feel your country is way too expensive to live in because things are not done right yet you are promoting a country with one major city and a bad economy, for the fact that there’s peace in your country is something or the only things Nigerians admire in Ghana and it’s something to be proud about, but anything else is just a lie,be realistic and u will get my point,

Ghana doesn't really have any tourist attractions in the country. The afronation and afrochella are the major things people come to Ghana during December and most of are there to the likes of burna boy , wizkid and rema And not shatta wale or sakodie. development in Accra Ghana is really backward. But very peaceful place to relax . After the December noting really going there.
