  • Velocity RC Magazine has an X-DYNO, the industry standard nitro dyno used to test the true output of model car engines. Awesome amounts of data can be instantly obtained from the nitro X-Dyno such as Horsepower, Torque, and Power Factor all graphed out through the entire RPM range. The software has built in SAE correction to ensure accuracy and create a standard so comparison between mills is possible.
Check out Velocity RC Magazine each issue for complete nitro dyno tests and results.

Like AB Mods said, These were made by Nitrodyne Systems. There are only 13 of them and they cost around 6000 dollars. They arent made anymore.

NitroRCTV, the dyno runs are short. If we do multiple runs then a fan is used to cool the engine.

No performance trends does not make these dynos. I own one i bought straight from Brian Kinney who made and designed the dyno system for my RC Modification business... Performance trends is the software used to run the dyno.

AWESOME!!! Is there a way to cool the engine though or it will over heat.

Has anyone attempted to dyno all the popular engines? I would like to see data on engines ranging from $100 to $500+ range and if its worth spending the cash, i hate f'ing paying for name brands when i can get the same performance out of cheaper engine.
