    Excellent, just the answer I was after! I have a lot of this in Ireland just opened drains last year but ground still holding water 10feet from the drain and wasn't sure if pulling a mole would be a waste of time! Thanks for upload be interesting to see your future plans!

      Don’t expect the ground to dry fast. It takes time.

    about 1986 or 87 I saw an amazing mole plough rig that an old guy built to drain peaty ground up in Teesdale. It was built like a giant gun carriage/log skidder type design with 2 huge wheels off a caterpillar loader or grader. The arm was pretty much like a pointed ships rudder. He towed it with a caterpillar tractor that had its tracks extended out to around 3 foot or 3 1/2 foot wide with steelbars welded onto each section. It would travel across marsh that a person would sink into if they walked on it, and deal with clemmys (stones) too. It was powerful enough to add a plastic pipe into the trench and cover it down as well. It must have worked OK because he was always on call as a contractor
