This guy I don't know ur name....but I think u are not biased in ur analysis/judgement..u are very correct..u begin to fall in love with the album gradually until it gets strong grip on u..❤️
BRILLIANT! You heed and appreciate diligently.
Jo wasn't in my top 5 earlier but now it's my 2nd best after Are You There?!
The arrangement of songs was astute and they had that fine idea of uploading the whole album as one on CZcams so that we actually take note of that
Love and Oroma Baby were literally WizKid singing and Rema taking the credits. Addicted is The Weekend.
I believe a Love N Affection video will be a great idea for that extra stream outreach. Are You There definitely needs a video as it's literally time for such consciencious statements building up to election season. A Wine video will connect with a lot more francophone fans too.
On a personal note, I think D Prince is not appreciated enough for how he's building the career for Rema and Ruger.
I learnt a lot following this. Mad respect for you Motolani and shoutout to my guy asking the questions.
I am not a Rema Stan but, I love quality music and that's what Rema gave. I have recommended it to everyone around me. Rema is a really good artist. Love to work with him some day.
Go to school champ. All of y’all can’t be artists lolz
All I know is, little African girls luuuuuuuuuuuuuuuv Rema. He’s like our Justin Bieber in that sense lol
The little thing i do observe is that when you have a massive run before dropping your debut it going to raise up expectations.. Especially when you have no miss look at teni for example are debut album was not that great compared to the things she has been dropping before hand... But Rema's album was a good one, if this roll out was in his first year people will have different views about it.
That's why I use his EP as my reference point when comparing him to Fire Boy. If you notice, Frie Boy's Apollo didn't hit in Nigeria the way LTG did...I think there's this thing about your first project representing the best idea of you in the mind of your fans...
This guy's analytical prowess is mind-blowing
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 Great review bro. Now I see why artists get angry when you give them a bad review. You understand music.
I feel like Rema's career so far can be analyzed without comparing to Fireboy, Alpha P or whoever tf
Divine, time and affection, addicted , are you there , soundgasm are solid records but generally “RAVE AND ROSES” is a mild album.
'Rave and Roses' is a classic waiting.
Give it time.
Best album I've ever heard. This album is unbeatable. Now I understand why it took a while for him to dropp.........we were not ready 🥶🤯🤯
Lmao the side stare at 10:30 when the phone rang, Motolani will be one hard boss😂
Bro if I was an Afrobeat Artist ….. I would ask this Guy to prelisten to it before I release it brilliantly explained 👏👏
great review Tolani! I believe this album will go down as a legendary one, in my opinion, no bad song from start to finish.
Fantastic review ... Very first time I listened to it I liked Divine . And it was not that good but at the second listen wow it kept making more and more sense
@@okhaeforfootball7051 it’s been on repeat since it dropped o! So good! The more you listen the better it gets
Some songs are mid tho. Addicted stand out
Morbid as some of the criticism of Rave and roses 🌹 maybe, I honestly give credit to this guy analyzing this album. He knows exactly what he is talking about. The album is not only good but it is a magnificent art work. People saying the album is wack is because they see Rema as a threat to Wizkid, Fireboy and the likes. But really, he isn’t a threat to Wizkid who has paid his due or the likes. The space is really wide enough for everyone and believe me, Fireboy and others are really enjoying their spaces. Having said all that, Rave and Roses is a top notch 🔥🔥🔥
This analysis is spot on...exactly my sentiment...I feel the song selections were the hardest part, especially because of what MIL already did. MIL sort out shifted people's sound expectations and I feel Rema was trying to flow in that direction to avoid upsetting fans...because there were some songs I have heard that I thought would make the album. Dope tracks but they weren't included...except there's a deluxe on the way, I would be quite disappointed...
Rema had some good songs on his album, but as far as who has it in this generation I will give it to Fireboy.
Fireboy is a better musician but Rema look and style kill everything just like wizzy burna boy is a better musician but wizzy look and style kill everything
@@peterobiora9919 lol fireboy is still bigger than rema
Some of you people are so lost, Rema is on a whole nother level of creativity and artistry than fireboy, omah lay or any of his peers.
@@jasonx792 not true. Although I love Fire Boy, but Rema is bigger
LoL hope u know if not for Peru ft Ed Sheeran no fireboy's song had crossed 20m views on CZcams
Few tracks stood out, but I agree with the sentiment that it is not as expansive as one would've anticipated. Again, the audio levels on this episode are terrible; please sort it out.
WOW 😲😳 I truly and fully enjoyed this analysis. This guy is just good and great. Kudos
"When you create a genre we'll let you know" 😆😆😂 Tolani that one burst my head
Tolani sure know his music
Kudos to Rema for dropping a banger
Amazing album, London do d magic
Divine is it for me including them pre released singles off the album. Pls talk about Young John new EP, that was crazily hot 🔥🔥🔥
Great analysis once again Mr Moto👍🏾♥️
Thank you man that means my taste of music isnt bad i also liked a lot along the line it became Love and Divine but Addicted and are you there are always on top
Exactly what I feel when I listened to the Album. Why Rema failed to give Wizkid the respect and instead he will say he was inspired by BURNA BOY while his sounding like Wizkid. This review sweet me and that’s facts only
Rema has never faied to give Wizkid his respects...Him being inspired by Burna Boy is not in terms of style. According to him, he connects more with Burna Boy's story. Please don't be biased. get your facts right. He said he connects more to Burna Boy's story and that I can agree with him. Burna lost his best friend...Rema lost his brother...Burna is an outlier in the industry and very confident, Rema is also an outlier and also confident.
The Album is Lite🔥🔥
The album is really good as an album.. I listened to it first time while working. Some songs just keep dragging me in and I noticed the sound changed at around track 10 or so.. In btw. addicted is just pure music
Can genres still be created tho? I mean is there anything we haven't heard yet?
I want more Ruger and Rema collabs
Still surprised why u guys haven't done an episode about fireboy since Peru dropped
Its a masterpiece
I took my time listening to it .. it's not a bad album at all... It's a 5.5 or 6 over 10 ... Not a classic for me just an average normal album....
Motolani alake good content as always . I love ur analysis as always GOD bless you..
Wow. Wonderful!!!
Edo boy 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Some Nigerian artists should know that singing about women, love and sex are boring. They should know how to diversify their music while singing or writing songs.
We have political problems, societal, environmental problems, yet they only focus about singing about women only which is abysmal.
Fela Kuti and Majek Fashek never did that.
We should learn to be political in our music sometimes. I am tired of sexual music on a daily basis.
Exactly
But the song no go sell if dem no do that
The analysis is true for the first time
The album is 60% good if not 100% congrats to Rema , Fire boy on Fire 🔥 now in the globe 🌎 , this two guys hmm will be like OBO and wizkid.
Yes, ladies 😂 love your music 🎵🎶 you're good for life. I want to add. If women and children love your music 🎵🎶 you're definitely good for life
Are you there my Favorite track
Yes bro you so right it happens to Jason derulo when he was creating his album he never ft any artist but along the line he fade out rema is wrong the truth is he can't fight the OGs
He said every feature is organic but his feature with Yseult is not. I read where London talked about how his management had to reach out to Yseult and do everything to make her come through. He is capping on this one...
I love Tolani 😁 he's stating facts
Guy you understand music.... we think alike
Good but monotonous. He sounded the same for most part of the album, singing about s3x, shapes of girls et al
Afrobeats is mostly about girls and sex though. It’s a bit like complaining that an R n B album is all about girls and love.
@@henryonyeanusi9316 I understand that. The lyrics, sound, rhythm and melody sound almost the same for most part of this album.I love Rema for his energy and hardwork, and one can see he has everything to be the champion amongst his generation
@@akeemelegbeji5300 I understand exactly how you feel. I’m a bit old school and I vividly remember when Snoop Dogg first came on the seen with hot features and singles and was rated as Legend in the making. I then listened to his first album doggystyle and taught he sounded the same on all the songs causing me to be initially disappointed on first listen. However upon subsequent listens I was able to distinguish each track and that album has become a classic with hindsight. Artist’s like Rema because of their unique style will tend to sound Samy on an album but over time you would probably appreciate the album.
love is my fav track
This guy is good 🔥🔥🔥
I tried listening but couldn't get to track 3.
Dirty... a very chilling song beautiful!
Carry is my favorite song
My best track is now addicted
I really love that song addicted
rema turned wizkid on the DİRTY track, everything was wizkid and daz de best track with sweet melody
But didn’t you do a first time listening critic of MIL now you’re saying this, it’s crazy how you mention pitchfork all the time but you’ve never admitted to making a mistake on your critique of MIL the way pitchfork does, fam your biased and inconsistent that’s what makes you a bad critique. Ps y’all shouldn’t delete my post cause I’ll keep coming back like Kane.
7 out of 10
Don't compare people..but Rema sings for his age mates ...Fireboy and joeboy are still better
My favorite songs on this album are the ones that sound like Wizkid lol. Oroma Baby & Dirty.
Mara too sweet ohh
Top album 💿
It has some nice records. I like the into, but I’skipped all those corny love songs lol
The volume of the background music is annoying guys 😔
an thats facts only
Bros thunk about Afrorave like a mix of Afrobeats with trap a little of raggae
Love is my shit rn too ngl
I can tell that the guy interviewing Motolani does not like Rena’s music. He prolly prefers to listen to Adekunle Gold or sumn lol
“Plenty calories dey for you sugar ohhhhh”😂😂😂 Really Rema? He could’ve left Jo off the album imo
Listen to that song on speakers bro
Guy listen to that song again, it has a good feeling to it.
It's a monotonous album. Where was this energy and cover up when MIL dropped
How much did jazzy pay u
MIL is monotonous too, but everyone is shying away from saying it. It’s a great album nonetheless
@@confidenceago8890 following a theme in a album does not make it monotonous! Besides being monotonous on an album does not make it a bad thing. And most of the songs On MIL do not sound alike do you guys think at all?
@@lekanabiola4799 first off, let me give you a lesson on etiquette: don’t come on social media and sound rude or look to insult people, it’s a gutter behaviour. Make your point and move.
Now, when we speak of ‘monotony’, it’s all about sameness in tone or sound, and MIL was all that. It had a mix of reggae and pop, with one or two afrobeats sound. The album was one dimensional, in fact, most albums are. Sonically it was same though the rhythms differ; the use of percussion too was same which I believe was meant to make it ‘African’ even though not all were really afrobeats.
Most albums are one dimensional cause the artiste has what he’s looking to achieve with it and people don’t really complain, but in Nigeria -cause we’re too used to beats- we tend to complain a lot. That’s why people like Davido try to be multidimensional and it hurts his album atimes. Rema made a beautiful body of work but Fan rivalry and expectation bias, like Tolani said, is why some people are having their say.
So yes, MIL was one dimensional but just like RnR, it’s a great album.
Rema is an Indian boy in a Nigerian boy’s body lol
😂😂😂😂
Rema sings about women, love and sex too much. I like the album though.
Wisdom choke …”Afrorave” for where?😂😂😂
Rema didn't meet expectations with this Album and that's Fact. Fireboy is the next Wizkid.
Wizkid is a one dimensional artist
@@oasisofficial9504 call him whatever you like he’s still dominating your favourite 😂😂😂😂😂
@@lekanabiola4799 who is he dominating? 😂😂😂
@@oasisofficial9504 Rema is definitely dominating
@@oasisofficial9504 every Nigerian artiste
Turn down the music please!!! 😭😭
the album was rough. end off
Tolani is trying so hard to justify his 'good' rating. The Album is a miss. None of the ingredients of a good album is present. No bars or memorable quotables, Mediocre song writing, Mid production, no cohesive structure and very forgettable. What exactly made it a good album?
The flaws are too many to make it a 'Good' Album. I wasted more than 30mins of my life listening to that shit. I am surprised Don Jazzy let him release that crap
....and that's facts only
Left to me Rema has been sounding monotonous in a while before this album and unfortunately he still sounded same in his current album
If you want to argue this out, compare Fireboy's Range on both of his Albums to this Rave & Ross album, you'll see the difference
I guess as Motolani said it.. It's probably an Expectation Bias working against Rema
Bro u capping the album is wack, don’t even compare him with fireboy
Yeah Rema album is not good
U know nothing...
Nothing works or pay in this nigerian music generation if u don't sing abt ladies and women, Ask 2face when he sang amaka ..
@@alphaoumardiallo3873 the album is great. Stop displaying foolishness
It's all about you. The album is bad because you don't like it or maybe him. So we understand
Hypocrite Tolani... 'Remove your self from expectations' but when it comes to Wizkid, Burna you always expect them to deliver top notch records. Na PR you don collect money abeg
Lol the guy is a fool. For Wizkid especially this guy will raise expectations for him and he expects him to always deliver. Meanwhile he’s making a video for Davido saying he has nothing to prove despite the abysmal album and year he had.
Because Wizkid is >>>>>
To whome much is given much is expected. Wizkid is the GOAT so much more would be expected of him. Same with Burna Boy.
The album was ass
Still surprised why u guys haven't done an episode about fireboy since Peru dropped
