  • In this episode, I react to an episode of Cesar 911 where an aggressive German Shepherd bit me. However, this was a case of how important energy can be in the outcomes that we create with our dogs.
As pack leaders it is our job to know how to best use the tools we have to communicate to ours pets the right away.
Remember your energy flows through the leash!

I'm a crime scene investigator so I end up in a lot of scenarios where there are dogs dealing with a number of strange people in their territories. By the time I arrive, their owner or someone has usually been either taken away or are being detained outside. I also deal with a lot of pit bulls, but I can verify that the energy of the person approaching the dogs means EVERYTHING! 9 out of 10 times, I'm the one that deals with the dogs since they let me approach them while growling at others. I appreciate all the work you do in trying to educate people on the difference between appearing calm and actually having calm energy. :)

I grew up from birth with 5 dogs, big and small. We had a Chihuahua that was a terrorist -- bit everybody. But, in the 60's, as a child, i thought he was simply playing rough 😆, so i wasn't scared. As an adult, i RARELY have a dog show me his teeth, but when it happens, i look him in the eye and tell him firmly, "Hey... NOT SO ROUGH." Amazingly, they always settle down.

Thanks for saying that. Most people say "I'm a professional dog trainer & Cesar is full of shit..." Which tells me they only teach the human how to teach the dog to sit, stay, come.... They don't address the negative energy humans have that they put onto their dog. There's another vid showing a couple & the dog bit the boyfriend a bunch of times so she's looking for help from Cesar. But the boyfriend, who claims he's a dog trainer, won't pay attention to Cesar, looks at his phone several times, & struts around like a steroid peacock with his arms folded across his chest & legs spread. Cesar called him out on his body language calling him "RoboCop"!! He was telling Cesar that he was a dog trainer but complained that the dog "doesn't show me she wants to work with me". I couldn't stop shaking my head over that comment from the boyfriend. He didn't get that it's OUR job to show the dog that WE want to work with the dog!!! You get it. And I so appreciate that!!!

When I went through some hard times I didn't know you, but I know that if I would have known about you, you would have made the bad times better. Every time I watch any Dog Whisperer, Cesar 911 episode or read you books I learn more and more. I have also used some of your methods on my dog and other dogs I watch and they help me A LOT! You make a bad day a good day! Thank you! You teach so much more then "just" about dogs but also about humanity and how to live happy with yourself, other people and animals, especially with the stuff going on right now. I really appreciate you. You changed my life and my career wishes for when I'm older! You are bringing good and positive energy into the world. I really appreciate you. But if one is a confident & in self-control leader everyone knows what to do, everyone feels confident. Anyone who has a teacher or a boss knows that without someone in charge, who gives clear direction, no one knows what to do at their job!

It' interesting you say, that any time is good to have a dog, when we realized we need a dog, we went to a shelter, but we couldn't find the perfect match, so came home and planned to go again in another day. In the afternoon I went for a long walk and a huge stray dog came to me, but I had no fear at all, he was walking by my side to home and he was the dog, we were looking for :) Hunters told us later, that this dog was living in the forest, but this day (exactly at the right time) he came to the village, I'm sure, he felt something :) That's the way we found our cat as well, we were driving and he crossed the street in front of us, but we didn't care, I thought it was a fox. When we came home, the same thing happened, he crossed the street in front of us. I got out to see, what kind of animal he is and I realized, he was a ginger cat in bad shape. Now he is a Grafield :D And our huge dog still living with us for 14 years now

I was leaving work one day hopping on the freeway. I saw a dog walking onto the freeway. I drove in front of him and honked to get him to go back the other way. I pulled over and opened the door. He came up to me and sniffed my hand really quick then climbed right in. I was just like, OK. I drove home with him. He didn't want to get out of the truck and was not interested in the food I was offering to get him out but eventually he came out. He was about a year old then and did not know anything. He would not even sniff the ground. I came to the conclusion he was kept in some kind of cage and finally escaped. He was a little tough to train since he was a full grown pup, but has come a long way. I honestly did not want any pets. I've had him for about a year and a half now. Anyone interested in a well trained dog? JK.

I am incredibly grateful for your videos and taking the time to share your knowledge. You are so on point with your explanations particularly with NOT addressing the “bite, the fight behavior” we are nurturing that behavior by NOT addressing it, I speak from personal experience. We are incredibly blessed for your love for animals. I can’t wait to see you on TV again with a new show!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I love the metaphysical insight of how Cesar is able to interpret and translate the flow of energy into human behavior as it relates to dogs . And the fact of how all things are relative to earth wind water and fire. This is wisdom that was taught by ancient civilizations from the Egyptians , Mayans , Aztecs , Dravidians Africans etc etc. listen to Cesar and you will learn something that is priceless. Absolutely awesome 👏👏👏👍

So true about that pull back. My girl likes to act up around other dogs. Not aggressive, but over excited. I have to be very MINDFUL to not pull on the leash when we see another dog. If I do (in anticipation of her reacting), then I can guarantee she will lunge in the direction of the dog.

Cesar, you are absolutely the best and my role model!!!
I started with a Pomeranian rescue that after years of being his owner, I’ve deduced he was beaten with a broom because he barked too much so he escaped when his previous abusing owner opened the front . He ran out my door several times, but always came back so I bought him a playmate that was love at first sight for Blackjack, and he and Foxy Brown had 5 tiny puppies and I kept 4 and gave one to my cousin. That was 11 years ago!!!
Your television shows and videos have been the only thing that has made my live with 6 dogs possible and ME a better dog dad and handler. My pack of 6 are well mannered, patient and responsive to my commands. As a retired USAF MSgt, disabled veteran, and former Basic Military Training Instructor, I have trained my “Flight of Furry Pups”to walk in several military formations and they know their left from their right; turn left or right , halt or wait, and continue walking forward march when encountering intersections, all these upon command.... They are an awesome sight to see walking down the street all at the same time.
I credit all this primarily to the countless hours of viewing your videos and learning from a master like you.
Thank you, Mr. Cesar Milan for being the the Dog Whisperer!

Thank you Caesar for the great impact you have on our human/animal relationships. I find animal psychology so very interesting. Saw this one minute clip you might enjoy, titled, “cat and deer” on CZcams. Since you have such a variety of creatures at your ranch I thought you would find this interesting. Eager to see the tools you bring to the new show. Energy is such a powerful tool, yet so few humans engage in it.
