The award shows are a scam. It’s basically a business making money and getting ratings off of popular singers like Taylor. That’s what fans are too blind too see. Taylor is pretty much being taken advantage off. Those awards are only handed to her to please Taylor fans to continue watching.
Meanwhile, other underdog artists….who are just as genuine and work just as hard get very little recognition. I would’ve been more impressed if an underrated artist was given an opportunity to be on stage with either NSYNC or some other band from their generation (like One direction or something like that). Just to give them something to be proud of a motivate them to keep working to reach the same level of success as Taylor.

It has even been brought up in recent songs in her 30's: such as, You're On Your Own Kid, "So make the friendship bracelets. Take the moment and taste it." Due to the topic of "friendship bracelets" emerging so early on in her career, handcrafting and trading friendship bracelets at Swift concerts has become a huge phenomena for Swifties.
TLDR: The reason for the friendship bracelet from NSYNC is because Taylor is so big now and it is part of her own cultural phenomena. If this award was given to her a decade ago, when she was still RELATIVELY small, no bracelet would have been given.

But if it becomes a pattern of other people not standing a chance against Taylor and other hard working people aren’t given a chance to be in the spotlight. That’s a red flag. Everybody is entitled to a fair chance of recognition. NOT just one artists. So many artists have done what she has done but they aren’t recognized like Taylor is. Taylor has a great PR team and she knows who to hire to help promote her. Taylor has only done one genre technically. Which is pop. Her old music can’t really be considered country. Plenty of women in the past had successful albums. Like Beyoncé, Rihanna, Mariah Carey. Adele doesn’t have as much albums as Taylor but when she does release a new album, it goes platinum within a week.

And yes, Adele goes platinum in a week, but almost all of Taylor's albums have also gone platinum in a week and she's far more prolific and versatile in her releases. It's fine if you don't like her but if you're not well-versed in her discography you shouldn't be spreading false information.

People have to be extremely naive to think that this is real. The friendship bracelet thing was staged and big set up. Award shows do it all the time. If regular folks had the resources to hire people to set up a meet and greet/ gift giving event with their favorite childhood artists, they’re do it in a heartbeat.
Think about it……when did the guys find the time to make a friendship bracelet for Taylor BEFORE she was announced as the winner???? It takes less than 30 seconds for an artists to walk on staged to accept their award after their name was called.

@@d-r5104not when there is great talent. Go listen to the early years of Take That and then their material from 2006 and beyond. They had massively successful songs and many liked them better than their super cheesy early days. These guys are still from that same era where all five had to be talented, so I suspect their new work will sound great as well.

And now 2023, NSYNC are there not just to perform their song to present the award for Taylor Swift. I'm not sure if this is actually happening, or if I've been manifesting a *NSYNC reunion for so long, that I've finally lost my mind and I'm hallucinating.
Well, it's definitely the start of the reunion the next step will be in November because that's when the new single for the Trolls movie will come out. Along with the Trolls movie soundtrack with a revamped version of the original NSYNC classics. This also means that the band will be together for the Trolls premiere, and maybe they will perform the new song at the #AMAs

I love how once Lance was able to be his true self he became much more charismatic. The difference between him at the VMAs years ago to this appearance is huge.

@carter3369 I won't disagree on this 1...true "talent" in the pop industry is not always determined by vocal quality, and most pop songs performed by said pop stars aren't even written by them...Ari being an exemplary exception in both vocal range/talent & songwriting abilities!! 💯🙌 but my point was the due respect Taylor paid in this moment, which is super important & lovely to see 🥹✨️💖

@Junior12249 we will simply agree to disagree on this one; I own every Ariana Grande album, have actually read each song's lyrics, seen their SW credits, & this is personal preference, however I feel that Ari transcends pop into soulful in her lyrics, much like Adele, whereas Taylor stays moreso true to pop music for the sake of, well, pop music...there's a fundamental difference in the actual quality of the songwriting...I actually have been studying pro voice & music theory for 2+ yrs now, have a bit of basis for my claims...love & light ☺️✨️🎶🎼💖

"Taylor stays moreso true to pop music for the sake of, well, pop music" -- this is just false. It shows you've never looked into her discography. She has two full Grammy-winning folk albums, folkmore and evermore. Those are not pop, and are basically poetry in terms of writing. If anything Ariana Grande is mostly pop.
And it's a fact that Taylor writes all of her music while Ariana doesn't. If you look at Ariana's songwriting credits, for example positions was written by Killah B, JustAcoustic, Angelina Barrett, London on da Track, TBHits, Mr. Franks, Nija & Ariana Grande. That's 7 people aside from her. Not to mention she doesn't play instruments and isn't even credited for writing her most popular songs like Just A Little Bit of Your Heart, Love Me Harder, One Last Time, Dangerous Woman, Greedy, etc.
That doesn't change that she's an amazing vocalist, but she definitely isn't known for her songwriting.
