Quick Build Fiberglassing the Underside of the Deck

This instructional video is the process of gluing and stiffening the underside of a kayak deck. This concept is the same for cedar strip or marine plywood constructions. The underside of the hull has to be strengthened to stop inward flex that will effect performance. To keep the deck as light as possible we only fiberglass one inch of either side of the joints. For a cedar construction a light fiberglass cloth can be applied on the whole underside of the deck.
