It should run much better now with a more matching intake-to-carb. Thanks for the video.
Hey. Thanks for tuning in!
I got that 2003 acouple years ago with similar distraction under flywheel.I believe screw for coil came loose and started the carnage.I actually put a 1977 flywheel,on it and the plate and parts from a 1987 and got it running. Also got a 1989 that the underflywheel power pack screw came loose and caused similar problems.
Wow. Yeah the beef motor is an 89 25 too. I better check it. Thanks for tuning in!
Good job TOO, sounds great and smokey like a good two stroke should😀. Got a sweet deal yesterday. Should have shot a video but you know most folks don't like being on camera so just took a picture after we loaded it on the truck. Got a 1964 Honda CT200 90 trail bike in great condition for 500 bucks. He was selling it for 1000 so just offered 400 thinking I'll never hear back. Well he came back at 500 and jumped on it. It will make good videos coming up over the winter months along with more outoards
Cool man! Thanks for tuning in!
The smoke was coming from under the flywheel. Those screws worked themselves out a long time ago. Lucky it did not destroy anything else. You need a seat belt in that little boat! Pt.3 next.🎉
Yes the screws saw it once before👍
Yeah too squirlly for me! Thanks for tuning in!
You are very welcome thank you
👍
Yeah baby Friday fun day TOO dropped
Thanks for tuning in!
Marlin Perkins always stayed in the tent or in the Jeep while Jim Fowler did the heavy duty work, like wrestle a gorrilla or lion---
Hahaha! yeah I remember. Thanks for tuning in!
I've seen worse-the very first flywheel I pulled off any outboard. The little skiff came with a blown 25hp, and another 35hp outboard with a busted bracket and bad foot, but the powerhead was supposed to be good. When I pulled the flywheel it looked like that one of his-except 1 winding had came un-wound and the wire was EVERYWHERE.
The guy said it was still running when the foot went bad, then it fell off the hoist and broke the outboard bracket so he just put it in the back of the shed being disgusted with it.
Learned a better way to time, THANKS!
Wow. Thanks for tuning in!
Impressive that it ran at all. Good catch to get the used plate off ebay. Would have cost much more to individually get the parts. This is truly the miracle motor. Looking forward to the next installment.
Thanks for tuning in! Yeah crazy right. I'm still in shock! Thanks again !
Got rid of my 75 25 Evinrude and got a new 20 hp 4 cycle Tohatsu, 11 hrs on the motor, so far so good, yeah baby!
Hey. Good to hear from u. Yeah Baby!
Looks great. Run it! Good video 👍
Thanks for tuning in!
South Central Outboards probably has one.
Hey. Thanks for tuning in!
that had to have a sound to it that sounded like something was wrong
Thanks for tuning in! Yeah before all this started I told him a couple of times that something sounded different but you'd think it would have been worse then the way it was. Thanks again !
i wonder if the rectifier overheated the power coils and melted everything else. usually only see that when someone hooks up the battery backwards!
Hey. Thanks for tuning in!
Wonder if Healy coils might of saved the plate...if you had too?
maybe! thanks
Johnny-Rude💪
Thanks for tuning in!
I have the same- 99' j25 W/ the larger carb venturi throat - what size high speed jet and where can get? Thanks
Hey. Thanks for tuning in. Go to marineengine.com, look up your year/model and see what size jet yours has, usually it will show the 30hp too but not always. Then look up the similar 30hp same year and see what size it has. Check the intake also, sometimes the 25 & 30 use the same one sometimes not. It can get confusing with these things. Anyway they may have it in stock, if not search the part number, sometimes ebay will have it. Thanks again for tuning in!
Thanks@@THISOLDOUTBOARD1
what years 35hp's are you taking those intake/carbs from
93 30 horse, same part numbers intake & carb as the 35 but I jacked up the High Speed orifice/jet from a 67D to a 72D! Thanks for tuning in!
Do thay make that bigger intake for the 1974 25 hp
Thanks for tuning in. If they do I don't know about it. Those early 25's were in a class all their own! If you find something that fits let me know. Thanks again & Stay tuned !
I did port the carb out and going too take it to the lake tomorrow I will let you know how it does and if it helps at all I look at the pictures you sent and it did have the carb on it that looks smaller and I did open it up
@@yeltonT15 the cylinder ports are much smaller. without bumping compression to take advantage of the extra fuel, it will probably idle worse and be no faster on top end.
Your probably right worth a try lol
@@yeltonT15 yes and I want to know how you did it. thx
Your commentary style puts david attenborough to shame when it comes to wild life.
Hahaha. Thanks for tuning in!
He is rough on equipment
Hahaha!
Man don't get a four stroke. The old 2 strokes are way better. Or get a evenrude e-tec if you can find one best built outboard ever.
Not me! Hahaha. Thanks for tuning in!
