  • Theres a lot of opinions on the internet whether your parrot should have a companion or another parrot in general. I truly believe they do need one and here are the reasons why in this video.
    You can choose to do whatever you feel is right but understand the benefits and whats best for your bird.
    It will take time and effort though to have the bond, some more than others and you have to be willing to put in that effort and not just give up because it "didnt work out" they might even hate each other at first just like Luza and Mango but look at them now!
    Please get a second bird that is COMPATIBLE with your current bird.

    Why is my cockatiel suddenly hate me?like biting me,doesn't fly towards me like it used to do, but it flies to my father and brother. I fed it since it was a baby, and we bonded so much. What is the problem?

    My Quakers were on a seed diet. I finally managed to convert them onto zupreem fruit pellets! Now I’m concerned about the dyes etc and want to convert them to tops. Any tips?

    • @mimisbirdhouse
      @mimisbirdhouse  Před 5 měsíci

      It helps to switch them to zupreem natural first to get them unhooked from that artificial dye and flavoring and then convert to tops :) itd be the same process as converting from seeds to pellets. i have a video on it :)

    Is it better to get the two at once, or bond first with the one, then get the 2nd parrot? my breeder says it is better to bond the the one 1st. then get the second one.

    • @mimisbirdhouse
      @mimisbirdhouse  Před 14 dny

      Id say getting 1 and then the other is better. Because getting a second also means bonding the two birds together and its easier if one already trusts you ☺️

    I have a question pls, I have 3 lovebirds, 2 are close to each other and they don't want the 3rd one is neglected by them and often not wanted by them, they fight him off. Do I need a 4th birds to by his companion?

    • @mimisbirdhouse
      @mimisbirdhouse  Před 2 měsíci +1

      A 4th is a good idea for sure, i find odd numbers sometimes leave one out. Though you will have to take the time to integrate and bond the fourth regardless. Here is a video to help bonding your birds in general

      Yes they will bicker and argue, sometimes resulting in some beak to beak fights but it should never lead to feather pulling or aggressive toe biting

      @mimisbirdhouse  Před 5 měsíci

      Very false, even having one wont guarantee them to talk.
      Definitely train your bird and bond to them but you can get a second bird regardless and them develop further their personality. Training doesnt end with another bird

    its not your decision whether your bird companions want to mate or not. stop thinking about yourself. just because it may inconvenience you does not mean you can dictate or decide for them. theyre self aware, living, sentient beings. they have the mating instincts as strong as you have. your birds arent your pets or your children. u must respect them, dont try to control if they mate or not. birds who become parents are fulfilled and happy. your just being selfish. but of course im sure you wont take my advice and will just block me, because your soo special, you can dictate how your birds will live and must control them as if you know better. typical human arrogance. your already 90% there to being a great friend for your birds, now you need to take a deep look at the birds and decide to do everything thats best for them

      So lets clarify a few things. When animals are in captivity things change, and theres such thing as irresponsible breeding.
      I am against breeding point form and pro adoption because parrots are exotic wild animals who shouldn’t be in captivity and have a high rate if negligence. The parrot trade is a horrible horrible thing.
      Now people will breed regardless of what I say but you need to keep in mind that if your birds breed, those birds in captivity are not going to raise those babies on their own. Its up to you. And let me tell you raising hatchlings is very very difficult, many people are not trained or knowledgable on how to do so and many end up dying.
      So yes it is our decisions AND our responsibility
      Whats best for my birds is not children, especially in captivity. Whats best for my birds is giving them good fresh food, a large open space, tons of attention and love.
      You definitely do not have to be rude or so pressed about my personal opinion that is infact shared amongst many people who work in rescues and parrot education (unless for maintaining a species off the endangered list aka conservation breeding)
      My birds are my children, they are my babies and no one can change that fact from me :)

    That's why i get 2 birds so that they will not be alone in nights and if i have to go somewhere, and ofcourse the satisfying preening 🫠 i still want to get more birds, i can even work in an aviary 😂 i just love animals and birds so much 🥰
    I have a que, if i want to check the gender and hatch day of my birds, what is the process of DNA, like is it done by blood or feather, can u plz explain 🤔

    • @PascaleLaurent81
      @PascaleLaurent81 Před 5 měsíci +1

      DNA testing is done both ways. They can pull out a feather from the chest area or trim a nail too short to make it bleed. Either way it’s invasive and with the amount of birds having to be re homed, sold ect The breeding is becoming an issues like puppy mills…cats, rabbits ect over population….please don’t breed them.

    • @mimisbirdhouse
      @mimisbirdhouse  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Yessss me tooo animals are amazing 🥰
      For DNA they take a little blood sample, i recommend going to a vet to do this.
      Sadly theres no test that can tell you when they were born 😢
