    Had the Sony A95L and returned it, got the LG G3. Sony has this "cold" image overall pushing bluish tints that can't be calibrated no matter what you do, it's just their color science. It looks too clinical. On the other hand, the LG has this warm pleasant overall image that I love, hence why the skin tones are so pleasing. Skin tones are #1 in my book. I believe the Samsung has similar image to the LG but it's softer. So overall, the LG is the best, and in my tests, the color can be adjusted to almost match QD technology.I've always had LGs. I just wanted to try the Sony, but never again. LG, I'll never cheat on you again.

      @patricioderito3722. Hey, nice to hear from you again. Yea, this is my thought about that. I really do feel that if let's say the LG was a qdoled. It would be able to show fine details better than the A95L. Cause I think that's where the A95l wins me over the g3. The G3 has great detail it really does. But the way the A95L displays details is pretty amazing. How they control color palletes to the max without losing details while at the same time keeping the picture so clear is very impressive to me. That's just not easy to do. And I think it has to do with Sony processing paired with the qd oled technology. So if I take that same technology and pair it with lgs processing, I think it will really show the world the Lgs processing is literally neck and neck and a lot of ways even better them Sonys. Lg dies nit get the credit they deserve with the alpha series processing they use. It it smooth, reliable, never slacks, can handle the toughest demands of your tv all while making the image look amazing. But I do notice that sometimes that white sub pixel has an impact on some lost or washed-out details. That's why I wish either lg just crested their own new oled tech similar to qd oled or just adopt qd oled and incorporate their amazing processing, and I think they would be able to best Sonys processing. Because what lg has over the A95L that I notice the most and u am not willing to lose is the 3d pop. A95L or S95C can't do what lg does. So if they can figure out how to just get their color space wider by losing the white sub pixel while at the same time retaining that world class 3d pop, that is just so amazing that it keeps you coming back. And the gaming optimizer is the best in the market hands down. Plus, hgig is great. Cause even if the game you're playing is not hgig compatible, well, guess what? It's still better than dtm or dtm off. In my opinion, at least. So they all have their pros and cons over eachother for sure

      Sounds like you just regret spending that kind of money on the A95L and talked yourself into getting the cheaper option by finding something to nitpick about the Sony. The A95L is no question the superior TV, but it may not be worth the extra money for some. The G3 is a great TV, but nobody can beat the processing of Sony.

And throughout history, if it were to go on Dale it is almost a year later. They barely allow fir any discounts on any tvs unfortunately so if you have the opportunity to get one on sale I recommended getting ot asap as those sales are temporary many times .the only time they permanently have lowered there prices that I have noticed is when the new current model year gets released. And even them the discounts are not significant

Just like LG was the pioneer of woled tvs and leading the industry for a decade. This is the next level.

  • @MichelleAlexandria-EM

    Great video! It's your TV don't let anyone tell you what's "proper" or not. I have the Sony A95L for 2 weeks now and I just don't see how it's the "best" tv of the year. I paid $2,100 more for this TV than the G3 and it absolutely is NOT worth that price difference. Ialso think that built in audio is ‘t any different than any other tv I’ve used. I’m not sure what all these influencers are seeing and hearing that justifies the crazy hype.
    What's more in the last week it's been buggy as crap to the point where a few days ago it didn't turn on and I had to unplug it before it turned on. Then yesterday it randomly rebooted 4 times. I'm frustrated with this TV. I hope it stabalizes next week. I don't want to risk being banned by sending it back, but yeah, I'm thinking about getting the G3 back (sadly the prices are going back up).

    • @consumerreview2k
      @consumerreview2k  Před 8 měsíci +1

      @MichelleAlexandria-EM. Hey, I haven't heard from you in a while. Was wondering where you been. I'm sorry to hear about those issues with the A95L. I had a couple of minor issues with mine. Yours sound more extreme over mine. I feel there's 2 ways people perceive the best tv of the year even if the tvs are working flawlessly. Value and picture quality. I do think that the A95L hits all the check boxes the best. And is closest to most accurate out of the box. So, taking price out of the equation, it is this year the nicest looking tv, and it's nice to have a better sound system. I have all 3 tvs, and the A95L audio to me sounds the best. Ppl do not talk about it enough, but no matter if it's important to a buyer or not, it's still an advantage over both the s95c and g3. Now, when you put price into the equation, that's when people get mixed up. Just because the price difference is not justified for most buyers, it doesn't mean that the g3 or s95c is better. It means that the value is better because they come so close in picture quality. What you get for your money versus what yv is actually better, I think, is where the fine line is. Plus, the S95C and G3 aloshave advantages over the A95L, too. They trade blows. The A95L is not perfect, and many people totally agree with your opinion. I see it all the time in the comments. And it makes sense. Last year, I thought the same thing. I thought the s95b and the g3 were both better than the A95K. I'm lucky enough to own all 3 tvs and they really do have pro's and cons over one another and it is hairline thin. I do feel that the g3 does not get the credit it deserves. I do think the g3 has a better build over the A95L, and it is more reliable. The tv just never failed. Yes uniformity is an existing issue but you also have the micro scratching issues on the A95L. I think that Sony really needs to wake up and get woth the program and make all 4 hdmi ports full bandwidth like the s95c and g3. I also like hiw the g3 has the best and most customizable game optimizer, Hgig and dtm has greatly improved over the years with more refined midtones. I just wish they would change there color spaces to the more recognized terms like bt 2020, dci p3 etc. But everyone's different.

      I'm not a super gamer where I can tell the difference between 30, 60 or 120 fps. As long as it's not dropping frames. I think I'm fine but it's ridiculous there's no 4 2.1 hdmi ports.
      My issue with this tv is you can't separate the performance vs price when it's this far out of wack. A Few hundred doesn't matter but several thousand? Plus you add all the crazy over praise this is getting. Makes it very disappointing. If the bugs correct themselves next week I'll keep it because other than getting my $2k back I'm not going to gain or lose anything going to a different tv.

    • @consumerreview2k
      @consumerreview2k  Před 8 měsíci +1

      @Tommy_93685. Hey, thank you so much for your comment and checking out the video. I think that they both have their strengths over each other. I actually did a recent video about game mode in all 3 tvs S95C, A95L, and G3. But specifically, since you are only commenting about the A95L a d the G3, I will just reply back about those only. The advantage I experience with the A95L is that the brightness is slightly brighter than the g3. The And makes the PS5 automatically tone maps the ps5. Once you connect it, the A95L is via Hdmi wire. It's nice how it's auto compatibility to give you the best and most optimized picture performance. As long as you keep your input signals on auto and hdr signal on auto. And when you turn live color on, it helps with the vibrancy of colors. Plus, it has more fine details, so when playing a game that is extremely detailed, the A95L does the best job at displaying that over any tv I have ever owned. But the game menu is honestly a joke on the A95L. The most basic game mode in the tv market. And the fact that you can't fine tune game black levels can be a nuance. The fact that the A95L only provides 2 2.1 hdmi ports sometimes makes me feel like a sucker. It's like sonys way of saying you're gunna to buy my tv and like it and there's nothing you can do about it. Now, with the G3, this is again my personal experience with it. Gaming is solid. Never once have I ever had any connection issues. It's the most reliable signal receiving tv I ever had in my life. They really are the best at it. The alpha 9 processor is neck and neck with sonys xr processor. People can say all they want that Sonys processing is the best, but LG is literally right there with it and better in some ways than Sonys. For example. Sometimes, sonys os system lags. Or gets glitchy with sound syncing while gaming. Never had any of those issues with any LG tv I ever owned, and I owned plenty of them.oled and led. The gaming optimizer for the LG G3 is hands down the best gaming menu you can possibly have compared to any tv out there. You can fine tune your black levels multiple different ways. It has a white stabilizer, which is fantastic. If you adjust it according to your liking and game your playing and can give you the warmest color temp through the white balance, select out of the 2 tvs. Motion is the most reliable in gaming with the g3. Although the A95L has definitely improved that significantly since last year, the g3 is trusted in motion. As far as picture quality goes, although the G3 cannot get as colorful as the A95L but what the G3 has over the A95L is the 3d pop. And I am not willing to lose that for more color personally because the color on the g3 is still good enough. It may not be brighter than the A95L either, but it's perfectly fine for most people. Plus the fact that the g3 has 4 2.1 hdmi ports is also an advantage as it does simplify things. Yes I do like the A95L better primarily because the fine details and live color spoil me but the 3d pop spoils me too. And the A95L has a much better sound system built in through the tv so gaming is more immersive and lifelike for that reason. Just again sometimes you do notice audio syncing not working correctly. It's all personal preference based and value based

      @bushgreen260. Hey thank you for the comment and checking out the video. Man I'd say overall I am liking the A95L. The G3 is my close 2nd. There both built with such high quality. I do think the g3 has a better overall build quality, and better 3d pop. The A95L has better sound quality and better fine details without having to customize it to get hose fine details as much. Processing is equal to me as they have an even amount of trade offs. I do like gaming on both of them equally but I do like the game optimizer on the g3 more than game mode on the A95L because it's more customizable. But man it's really hard because live color on the A95L spoils you after you realize how it helps with the vibrancy of the colors. But the g3 can get warmer looking too. It's really tough but I would say the A95L to me has the slight edge cause the way it can bring out fine details. Value wise I would say the g3

      @shannonharris6563. Hey thank you so much for your comment and for checking out the video. Means allot. Yes I do feel that certain picture modes between all 3 tvs displayed on videos have there advantages over one another. I do like the way the depth perception looks better in filmmaker of the g3 but I really like the color management in professional mode of the A95L. I just think the fine details are displayed cleaner just a hair more compared to the g3. So they really do trade blows. I think if any one of these 2 tvs can be able to lull if that 3d pop that the LG is known and at the same time have fine details and color like the sony can do. Along with great motion processing, that would be the perfect idealistic tv. And it all comes down to the processing at this point. I hope LG figures out how to get more color out of there tv because they certainly have the color space settings available to pull it off. And they certainly have the processing engineer's to be able to make it happen

Active tone mapping fixes that issue, but actually makes some titles uncomfortably bright. Contrast enchancer is a middle ground brightness wise, but seems to wash out colors (especially reds) in some bright scenes, unlike active tone mapping. I'm wondering if G3 picture modes and Dolby vision support would give more consistent and better results. I'm still not sure, if S95C issues are due to lack of Dolby vision or just related to how Samsung picture modes work.

And through physical disc, it didn't do a single thing, so I just kept it on high. I truly and honestly couldn't find any difference. Then I went on to see if I found a difference when 4k content cause I will tell you literally 99% of the time I like gradation on low. And I still noticed some color banding, especially in scenes with either specular highlights and in dark sky light scenes. So one time, I just said to myself, "Let's see if smooth gradation on medium or high work is better when streaming 4k. And to my pleasant surprise, it did. Now, this is if you are indeed speaking of smooth gradation, correct? Not gradation preferred in Hdr tone mapping specifically for the A95L, right?

      @nyyijaxxvi9529 Yes. I forgot which dilby picture mode I was in when I noticed it, though. And i only noticed it when streaming dv content. Physical disc i do not notice it, which i think it's because Physical has embedded Metadata to tell the tv exactly how it wants the picture to look. It's not perfect cause at times there's black crush and artifacts in dark regions of the scene but it still looks better to me because Physical disc have a much higher bit rate versus compressed low bit rate streaming. I typically do not like the way dv looks in either the A95L or G3. I like hdr10 better cause it looks brighter to me while also keeping the low - and mid-range tones intact. Seems like colors have more purity, too. And if you like to dim it down through the tvs settings, you can. Well, what I did was apply settings prior to making the video, making sure the warm color settings did not change when switching through picture presets. Here is what I noticed about filmmaker mode. On a projector screen and projector. I like filmmaker mode better than on a tv. It feels more like the movies, and I like that feeling. It reminds me of being in a movie theatre but at home. Filmaker mode on a tv just doesn't look right to me ever. It's a completely different look because it's panel technology. And when panel technology has a creation of filmmaker mode to give you a more theatre like experience, it doesn't work well because it's not a projector that projects an image to a projector screen. I think we subconsciously know this, and that's why we love watching movies at the movie theatre but hate filmmaker mode because it is not the same.

Contrast enhancer on the S95C are probably the ones out of the 3 that have the most impact on picture quality as its nit as refined as the A95L and the G3. But I do like it when watching bright colored movies like Avatar way of the water because it really can make scenes more lifelike. I know it loses details and blows the highlights, though. But in a movie like Avatar Way of the Water, I'm willing to lose that for the fain of the life, like picture and color it can bring out. I did not see a significant drop on details in dark scenes or midtones either. It helped make the colors look more vibrant, even though technically, it has nothing to do with improving colors directly it indirectly has an impact on how colors are displayed. But again, these are features that may differ depending on the type of content you're playing. Not including if you are streaming, too. Just wanted to share my thoughts on contrast enhancer and what I have noticed when enabled or disabled thats all.
