Ironically he’d be the perfect back in today’s nfl
Unlimited Power rare case when a player gets drafted "too early". He would basically be what Kamara/Barkley/CMC are today. Same thing could be said for Tebow. He would be a better Taysom Hill if drafted today.
@Slatternly Skaghalter yeah Reggie did have some good hands
How does this comment have so many likes, when the best back's in today's NFL are Ezekiel Elliott, saquon Berkeley, Derrick Henry, & Todd Gurley??🤔 ... All complete opposite of Reggie Bush haa ha SMH.. 🥴🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
JordanLeeBrown you named Zeke and gurley but not CMC? 💀
Saints started this whole thing. That's why you see it commonly now.
People call him a bust but he took a huge part for the Saints super bowl run especially in the playoffs and you can never take that away from him.
on a technical term he didn’t produce as his draft position would suggest so he in that sense is a bust but he played a integral part for that SB run so at least he has a ring.
@@elvintran9620 "on a technical term he didn’t produce as his draft position would suggest "
Except, even by that standard, I don't think that's true. Pro football reference's career value metric has him 19th among all #2 picks since the 1970 merger. That puts him ahead of 24 retired players (and a few guys who are still active, and unlikely to pass him, like RG3).
So even by the standard of 2nd overall pick, you're about as likely to get a guy who was worse than Bush as opposed to better.
@Costa Zambaras Look, I wasn't calling him a great player. And their are certainly better players than him who don't get this kind of treatment (Sproles, as you point out, is one. I've always loved Eric Metcalf). So you have a point.
Bush wasn't a great player. He was, at his best, very good, but probably really just a good, solid, player.
The issue I have with calling him a "bust" is that, while you certainly get superstars with the second overall pick, you also get guys who are absolute and total non-contributors.
Put another way: Suppose I gave you two options.
You either get the career of Bush, or another player who was drafted at #2, chosen via a random number generator.
Would you take your chances, or take Bush? .
@@ZachB1988 He wasn't a bust though. Busts don't start for that long, don't become key pieces to a team, and they almost never get a ring. He had a respectable career.
Not a bust
"By the way, don't kick to Reggie Bush right now."
They just never listen.
3kmek got close to another one after that one, but loss his footing while make a move
A college national champion, Heisman winner, & a Super Bowl champion, wow what a career he has had!
And high school state champion
And a saints hall of famer
So underrated during his time in Miami and Detroit, didn’t live up to the unimaginable hype but got a ring and had some good seasons. Grew up watching this gun run amok in LA
Harry Engel he wasn’t as effective in NO as he was in college and preformed much better outside the Saints.
Elvin Tran Bush had more rushing yards in Det and Mia but his biggest success came in New Orleans
Totally agree
Harry Engel New Orleans had the running back by committee style even worse than today. Reggie never got a chance to get consistent carries
That Fresno State game.......SMDH!!
This guy was a living highlight reel in college
One of the best
My pick for an all time cfb team
The greatest cfb player of all time
I was in college(on the East Coast) and would stay in on Saturday nights to watch USC play, and it seemed as if every time he touched the ball, he gained at least twenty yards.
@@znhait right, and that was a time before internet so he was like a football myth at his time in USC. He really was ahead of his time tho, cuz I feel like he could have been an elite RB in today's nfl
@@kingezy6222 there was internet back then lol. Just wasn't any social media like today. Bush was one of the first players to have his highlight reel on youtube.
I never realized he had that many punt return tds
New Orleans Reggie Bush was Sick with it, Dem Punt Returns was fire.. Detroit Reggie Bush was tight too..
Same here! He was one of the great punt returners of all-time!
I forgot he had two punt returns for TDs against my Vikes🤣 He seemed to love scoring long TDs against us on whatever team he was playing for haha
He’s one of the best receiving backs i’ve seen played this game
You should see more...
#facts
Alvin kamara?
Only 2 plays were run plays; the other eight were long receptions. He would be way more valuable today than he was in 2000's.
Marshall Faulk literally lined up at wr. He ran routes better than most wr. Catching screens and dump offs isn’t considered a true receiving back
Every nfl throwback vid
Comments: He was so underrated
Ruben Krishna I agree that people always say that, but I think you could pretty easily make the case that he’d be a very good back in today’s NFL. Ahead of his time
Not HoF, but damn good
Harry Engel I know but people like Herschel walker if you look at the stats werent
The definition of underrated is not Reggie Bush. He was definitely overrated early on after being a Heisman trophy winner and number 2 pick overall. He was very good in the NFL, but nowhere near the hype did he meet expectations. I'm a huge fan as a Saints fan though. Glad he got in the Saint's Hall of fame.
@@fluid_thoughts2782 If he had stayed in his own britches, he could have lived up to the hype in the long run. Keep returning kicks, stay with the Saints as a hybrid. His career would have been huge.
@@democratbullshit6964 not really. He had more rush yards away from the saints. Alvin Kamara is much better at what reggie was suppose to be for the saints. Reggie still was a beast, just not worth a 2 pick overall.
1:34 those blocks
Beautiful.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe those are allowed in today's NFL. Sad if that's the case.
Almost killed the man
At the same dam time😂
I truly miss that
Unbelievable. The perfect return formation.
Would've been perfect for this era..think he learned to be patient when he was in Miami. He looked like a true RB there far as allowing holes to develop.
I feel like he just gained weight and stopped running laterally
That and didn’t dance as much
We dont win sb 44 without bush. And for that he isnt a bust in my eyes. Thanks brother!
He wasn’t a bust period.
No where close to a bust
@@mxl_reps_951 many consider him to be because of the hype. But hes damn fine in my book.
1:34 is poetry in motion
So beautiful. The second guy got cracked before the first guy that got decleated had even landed.
Reggie Bush has inspired me to play football
Hate that run he had down in Miami when he jumped like 5 yards down the side like for the TD wasn’t on this! But so many great plays, loved him when he was a Saint
You see how fast Brian Urlacher was running on that last play? 👀 He was right behind Reggie until he realized he had a step on him n saw he wasn't catching up.
Urlacher was an athlete! He was actually a converted linebacker in college, and they still played him at safety, receiver and he returned kicks.
Was a college legend n did his thang n da NFL 💯🔥
Reggie Bush was versatile and had amazing speed. NFL scouts knew when he was at USC that he would succeed at the next level.
always fun to watch, was happy to have him in a Lions jersey for bit there.
This dude was so fun to watch during his college days. Dude was literally a threat to score everytime he touched the ball
Absolute studd. He was that good. Multiple position players are what its all about. People making plays. He cant control the whole offense but if you give him the ball and space its over. Running, catching, and returning kicks. People still hate. Unreal.
that didn’t give him fair share in the beginning at running back bro , he did his thing with miami and detroit !!
Not Detroit but yes Miami the reason he did not get used as much in the saints is cause we had
Pierre Thomas and deuce McAllister and duece was really good and Pierre was really underated if people wonder why we did not use reggie as much as we would have
@@fadedjdean6546 yeah i think if he would’ve been used more in the beginning , he could’ve been better , he running inside and out
@kingrell Yeah I totally agree but The only thing I hate about Reggie bush highlights is the fact that everyone in the comments argues over if he was better on Miami Detroit and the Saints but everybody Should know that he will always be the best when he was on USC And that’s coming from a Saints fan
Reggie came in the league a star and made big time plays, but they always criticized him for "not running between the tackles"... he had great breakaway speed and crazy elusiveness... i wish they just let him make more plays in space
Ahead of his time. He’s like Alvin Kamara or run CMC
Hmmm. But Bush was not an every down back.
AllPro777 could’ve been his years in Miami and Detroit kinda showed he was more skilled and should have been used better by the saints
@@AllPro777 the way hitting has change he wouldve been an every down back
YO!! That block though!!! 1:34
did the ref really throw a flag for sliding in the end zone smh
D G Yes. Remember that short stint they tried to add where they were penalizing “excessive” end zone celebrations? Too many damn rules in the NFL now days. 🤦🏽♂️
Smh...the ref is a clown for throwing a flag over a slide. I thought it was funny and harmless after a long ass TD run
No fun league.... NFL
Reggie didn’t live up to the crushing expectations (who could’ve? He was basically Michael Jordan as a running back in college), but he still pioneered the current era of several dynamic receiving RBs.
I love Reggie...hes such a nice guy and so much fun to watch. He's a special human being. GIVE HIM HIS HEISMAN BACK ALREADY!!!!!
Truly underrated! Even tho he never lived up to the hype he was drafted at, he had a very productive career. He was also the best player in ncaa 07 lol
Best video quality that I've seen from anyone on CZcams for play #1..
Always loved that run from Reggie
Long distance!!! Enjoying these videos showing just how great some players are and probably were underappreciated until now
One of the most underrated running backs ever! His explosive and talented skills would’ve been a top pick in today’s league! I’m glad I got to see and witness his greatness! #RB25
FYI, Alvin Kamara is Reggie Bush 2.0!
Still one of my favorite backs of all time.
Would’ve been a beast if he was on the Chiefs today.
Yea
I'm scared of KC if he's on KC in, 2018
One of my fav players
Reggie Reggie Reggie!!!!! Man this guy was a big influence on me I worked #5 because of him He will always be my favorite player this guy is my idol truly one of a kind. I’m glad I got to witness him playing.
more videos of reggie bush!!! please!!!
Missed his era definitely would’ve been great in this era
Dude said "fleur de LEAP" for Reggie Bush's flip omg so good hahaha
One of my all time saints favorite . Played big role on the Super Saints
Man he was so RAW 🔥
Good career. Would've thrived in this era. He finally figured out how to slow down and find holes as a RB when he was in Miami. Was great to see.
The Legend
Bush & LT best backs to me from the later 00's
Top 20 most explosive players in NFL history and #1 in college. I hate USC. Been an Oregon fan all my life but I never denied he was my favorite player to watch in college.
1:49 my mans breakin' ankles. Somebody stop that man. XD
Such a football icon
“Bust” lol, legend
fantastic
Reggie bush is one of the most talented athletes of all time. Not just in football, in all of sports
One of my favorites players if he didn’t go to the saints and actually was treated as the number one back he would’ve had more thousands yards season but on top of that at least he has a ring
I swear bro it was like the only time he got the ball is when the entire stadium knew he was getting the ball. It was the most obvious situations
Is that hate towards the saints?
This guy would be INCREDIBLE...in todays NFL.
I loved Watching Reggie Bush.
He definitely was NOT a bust at all but I think he would have had a better NFL career as a wide receiver. Strong enough as a wide receiver, fast enough, good enough hands, dangerous in open field, and he would have avoided a lot of contact/injuries at wide receiver. There's no way to tell, but maybe even Hall of Fame in my opinion.
Bro had 10,017 all purpose yards with 58 total touchdowns and got him a ring . He’s a Hall of Famer IMO 🤷🏾♂️
That boy been a beast
Greatest Barry Sanders Detroit Lions play is 1991 NFC divisional playoffs against Dallas Cowboys 🏈
I concur
Totally irrelevant
Man, this guy was so fun to use on Madden back in the day!
He would be a monster in today's pass happy NFL. Bush was ahead of his time
One of the best to ever do it...
Pure speed and vision
Thanks for the memories Reggie. Saints wouldn't have won it all in 09 without you. Fun fact...we didn't score again in that Bears game after you pointed at Urlacher on that long TD 😂
One of the best college back of all time. NFL may not have jad the best packages for him, wish he could have been more consistent. At least he earned a ring.
Reggie bush was always the most exciting player in football when healthy
Would be cool if you did a complete highlight for him.
One of my favorite backs, imagine he was drafted in 2020
He had one in the playoffs 09’ against the Cardinals.. crazy!
Man if he came in a few years later he would have dominated in the modern NFL!
At 1:35 that fkn block for reggie he leveled dude lol
I remember I was like 10 and had him on my Fantasy team when he got the 2 returns in one game
He’s so good
Reggie was the first RB I feel in love with no homo ! This man can take everyone’s ankles
He had major breakaway speed
Reggie was a walking highlight reel
That lineman running side by side with him on that first highlight was the most impressive part of that play
Devin Hester my man but Bush also a Beast 💪
That was man was just that fast and good!
I've been waiting forever to see that #1 by Reggie bush
Because
1 it's in hi def
2 it was against the bears in the NFC. Championship
3 and you got one of the most underrated exciting game announcers Jim Henderson fr
4 then the flip at the end
5 the bears fans facial expression when it happened
And 6 , the saints was a hair away from making it to the Superbowl
And 7 ,I think of no more
This dude would catch, look up field, find a hole and change gears lmao. You can see that second speed kick in
30 percent of these plays were against the Vikings....coming from a Vikings fan RIP
Guess they got there revenge in 2018 coming from a saints fan RIP
That block at 1:34 would have killed this return in todays league... Regardless Bush was straight lightning!!
619 San Diego Baby 💯🏆✅👌🏾
Reggie Bush was a stone cold beast! Injuries took a toll on his body, but still had a solid NFL career.
Saints forever we should have never let you go !!!!!
The crack back at 1:34👀😩😫😤
He just had IT!
All the young kids watching this like football use to be really violent lmaooo
If USC is true to their words this is the first good news of 2020
Sucks USC lost that bowl game against Vince Young & Texas. Hella of a game but i felt it most for Reggie. He was carrying that team every year. Most exciting college player iv ever seen
GOAT
Please do a John Elway and Walter Peyton career highlights
One of Daygo's finest..
Mt. Helix Stand Up!
We got a lot of them
My favorite rb of all time
I like to think in an alternate universe, he finds a home after detroit/miami and made his way up in the yards from scrimmage leaderboard. Dude had some gifts
He may never be a HOF but he was an excellent RB and a game breaker
Reminds me of Eric Metcalf..Very exciting player to watch...
Good comp. Both good players robbed by circumstances and injuries
#4 was my favorite
That Detroit catch and Td was a USC flashback
Imagin prime bush and Kamarah in the backfield together rn.🔥
Once upon a time he was the best, or potentially the best
