I was thinking the same thing. Fashion does matter. I am enjoying seeing all these young adults being apart of an amazing event. My daughter asked me how do you get an invite to the Met Gala being famous, an influencer in an epic way....

I JUST FINISHED MOCKINGJAY PART II for the second time half an hour ago and just commented something like this oh my gosh 😂
The fact that some people don’t understand what they did in this video goes to show how little we think of writers and content creators. In this video they showcased how they created articles, contents, took photos, and organized all of the posts WHILE the MET gala was happening. They got content out not even an hour after the celebrities got on the red carpet. They were dressed in ballgowns just in case someone had to go up to get something, talk to an official, or fix something upstairs. We need to commend these people more because we keep consuming their product (which are the photos posted of the MET or articles in Vogue) without giving a single shit about who made it.
Exactly, they are the gala, they make it what it is, but they get the least out of it.

I also like videos like these because they showcase the reality of working in fashion. And honestly, I have a lot of respect for these people who actually make fashion happen. Vogue wouldn't be where it is today without its extraordinary, dedicated team who works round the clock.

She's wearing a 80$ shoe with a $2500 gown it's fashion. Just cause she's not wearing $2000 Louboutin doesn't mean that outfit was bad. She was trying to create this silver silhouette with her shoes matching the stars on her gown.

For everyone wondering, these are the writers and media directors at Vogue. Not everyone who works at Vogue is in this one basement but this is just a chunk of them. Every big magazine or media company has teams like these- not just Vogue.

They're showcasing the team of writers and editors who document the Met Gala as it happens. Basically, they deliver the content that keeps viewers up-to-date. Uploading to social media, creating the best-dressed list for Vogue's website, etc.
They are the social media team for Vogue covering the met gala. They have to dress up in case they’re needed upstairs. A bit over the top but it is fun to watch 😏

Nope, it's both the ed board and the public's! The editorial team can't put something out that the public will hate so basically they make a note of the top people the public likes (based on tweets/socmed comments), and just pick the handful they'll talk about (most likely based on that person's popularity, relevance, what non-fans are saying, etc.) their personal tastes don't actually have that much of a bearing usually.
I'd love to see more of this. The people behind the scenes that made the event happened and went smoothly

Honestly, this video is microcosmic of the reality of working in the fashion industry. It really strips away the veneer of glamour. If you're a fashion journalist, the reality is *not* being on the red carpet at the Met Gala, but sitting behind the screen and documenting it. If you're on the business side, you're on the computer for long hours just looking at fashion phenomena, but not really participating in the glitz and glamour. You also don't have great work-life balance as exemplified by the video.

This video is definitely a reality check. That's the nature of the job. I suppose if you want to write for Vogue, you're going to be spending a significant amount of your time documenting industry phenomena instead of being a part of it. It's a 24/7 job.
