RC BATTLESHIP YAMATO by Bancroft 1/200 scale from motionrc.com

This is a review and unboxing of this terrific remote control ready to run model of the IJN Yamato. She's a spectacular and imposing model, sure to be a centerpiece of any collection and eye catcher at the local lake.

I picked up the metal hard case for this and it's exactly the size of the box so if you save the foam it fits in it perfectly for transport or storage.

@@SSNFastAttack I picked it up from Motion. The first wave of ships had them listed under the parts tab. (Just looked they're still there just sold out Yamato, Fletcher, Bismarck) If I remember correctly, they only had one or two of each available and I remember them taking forever to actually sell. Even I hesitated for a while before pulling the trigger on a $200 box. I only did so because I was about to move halfway across the country in the next year.
Edit: I don't regret the purchase the box is actually pretty nice. It exactly fits the foam, felt lined, much sturdier than the cardboard, and has handles to carry it easily. Plus while not much to look at its not exactly an ugly cardboard box sitting around. Just wish I'd ponied up to get one for my fletcher too.

Before you sail her and your Titanic model you should put a layer of water proof varnish on the deck. The laminate used does not react well to water and will split and bubble if it gets wet.

May be a stupid question, but do models like these float like their real life counterparts? Doubt that you would want to float a model but curious as to if these models would actually have the correct buoyancy and center of gravity to float properly.

Good Morning. Splendid Details on both those ships. Question, do the turrets rotate and the guns elevate and depress ( main armament )?

Yes the main guns rotate and you have a small range of motion for each barrel
