My husband has the Nichimo 1/200 scale of the Yamato still in the box since 1985. I can only imagine how it would look in a set up like this one. Totally awesome work, Sam.
WOW love it, but Yamato would've been heavily damaged with holes on her deck and AAA blown off, but it still looks brilliant especially the way you've done the fire, that is truly awesome.
Wikipedia had a edit war to hide Yamato sinking itself.
As well as several holes in her exposed hull under the water line due to torpedo hits

Работа технически великолепная. Но, на мой взгляд, кораблю не хватает повреждений. Ведь "Ямато" получил, как считается, не менее 10 попаданий торпед и 13 авиабомб. Несколько торпед попали в правый борт, то есть на модели были бы видны, поскольку этот борт вышел из воды. Бомбами же была разрушена средняя часть, сорваны некоторые орудийные установки, пробита верхняя палуба. А тут корабль выглядит в общем слишком целым

Легенда, которая долгое время строилась и долгое время была в тени, а ведь пусти его раньше в битву, возможно он бы смог выиграть не одно морское сражение!

Brilliant work mate.
Very good job! Unfortunately the resin overheated due to the high thickness of the pouring. The surface deformations on the corners are tipically related to that. I did this kind of mistake several time in the past. The solutions are:
* use resins that are engineered for high thickness (I found resins up to 10 cm in one single pouring for example)
* use standard resins but pour more layers (1st layer of 1cm, curing -> 2nd layer of 1cm, couring -> etc...)
Hope it helps.
PS: Yamato is my favorite warship ever. I'm building one of them, 1:350 from Tamiya :)

Can you please do the silent Mary but uncursed? I have been struggling with this one for quite a while because it has a very unrealistic history but don't forget to do it like how it looks like in the movie called Dead Men Tell No Tales.
This method of expressing smoke and flames seems to be suitable for expressing main gun firing.
