Back when replica belts were first becoming a thing I used to frequent Dave Millican's site, and someone commissioned him to do what he called the "WMIV Winged Eagle," which is that early dual plated design with the extra "WORLD" plate on top of the main plate, and I fell in love with it right then, always told myself if I ever had the money I'd get him to make me one. Well, I've never achieved that level of success, but WWE put out a replica of that exact title a few years ago, and I'm happy to say I got one. May not be the real thing handcrafted by Dave Millican, but it's a very well done replica of my favorite belt ever.

Loved the big green belt, always wondered what happened to it. I remember greg valentine saying the intercontinental title he destroyed when he lost it in the cage to santana ended up in the dumpster. Imagine what that belt would be worth now.
I loved the spinner’s design but didn’t really like the fact that it spun lol. I think when the logo was stationary it looked amazing. I loved the depth it had
It had layers to the belt. It grew on me over the years. On some superstars it really looked amazing like Cena, Punk, and Orton. Couldn't imagine seeing Undertaker with that belt though. Big Eagle was a belt anyone could wear in my opinion. It really made the wrestler look like a star. The winged eagle imo, while looking cool, felt small and insignificant on some wrestlers. While the wrestler makes the belt, I am also of the mind of the belt making the wrestler.
I went to a Flea Market last year and found a guy that was selling old school Championship Belts. I bought the Backlund belt with red and blue straps, the Big Green belt, and the Intercontinental belt with a yellow strap. I just missed getting the winged eagle. However, I still lucked out even more by getting the NWA Ten Pounds of Gold, the World Television & National Tag Team Championship Belts, plus the AWA World Heavyweight and Tag Team Championship Belts from the 80's.
There is an interview with Edge, I can't remember exactly where, but in the background he actually commissioned the rated r title. So, the physical belt actually exists.
Hogan 85 belt reminds me of the old WCW heavyweight belt Favourite belts were the winged eagle and the undisputed V2 belt (Brock lesnar belt). I ended up buying that belt, it just looked amazing with the 6 plates and the plates fully black front and sides

Hogan 86 was always an underrated design. I think the perfect design for the WWE championship would be a bigger Undisputed belt with a blue globe. I never liked the lack of color on Undisputed.
I hated the original blue Big Eagle as well as the spinner. The Undisputed belt is severely underrated & should’ve still been the primary design once Cena lost to Edge.
The way they're redesigning the belts now they're like retro-modern, case in point the new Tag titles on SmackDown. So if Cody does get a new belt it will be inspired by the Winged Eagle for sure. Hopefully the US Title can get a remake as well with a nod to the classic WCW version.
There was a rumor a long time ago that Ultimate Warrior lost one of the world championship belts in a bar or hotel or something. If true then it would make sense why he had the strap changed to different colors in a short amount of time. Or maybe it was just changed between each pay-per-views (the light blue one in Summerslam, the white one at Survivor Series and the light purple for Royal Rumble). But he also made appearances and interviews in between those pay-per-views where the belt had the black strap, again.
Some of my opinions. The Big Eagle should have been in use longer. Same goes for the Undisputed. The John Cena belt is a nice design but it should have been a custom belt only for him and when he lost it they should have went back to the previous undisputed championship
15:26 Now that Rhodes is champion, I wish they'd go back to this style with the cutout black background for the WWE main plate. Looks better than the current "Undisputed" one. Even calling it the Undisputed makes no sense. Can't be undisputed if Raw has their own champion too. Either that or just change the design completely and just rename it back to the WWE Championship since they've already gotten rid of the "Universal" moniker already. Speaking of design, we are approaching 10 years with that big WWE network logo design. Time flies. Definitely due for a change.
Would love to see the Winged Eagle return as the WWE Championship. Its not the first time Cody Rhodes brought back a classic belt, when he was Intercontinental Champion in 2011 he ditched the awesome oval belt for the classic IC Title. And as for the current championship, WWE need to absorb the Universal Title component and retire it.
I must be the only one that has no issue wirh the current wwe belt. Like that belt alone should be having the logo and i dont mind that. Big and gold. But if we going with the eafle then man they should make that eagle bug and noticable and probably holding the logo which going to be smaller than the eagle
My least favourite has to be the spinner one and the WWE labeled one before the newest belt was given and my favourite has to be the first undisputed WWE championship that Triple H, Hogan and Undertaker first held in 2002
in my opinion, I think nothing represents Vince's WWE (the bad half) more than the big logo belts. yeah this is an improvement on the ridiculous red and blue versions, but WWE wont feel like its truly in a new era until they change the literal most important belt in the company into something that actually represents what the product now is. Like the WH tittle, or either of the new tag team belts, they look like an actual championship with history and personality. again the gold on the back is a massive improvement, but if the big dub wants to talk about change, and it being the Tipple H era, then they need to change their most important, history rich, main god dam tittle into an actual championship and not a glorified marketing prop that they can give to drake to pose with to get them more exposure. ok I'm done now 😅
You actually forget to mention that Roman reigns actually made the belts uniforcation back in 2023 making it the Unification title belt that he held for over 1345 days Roman is not getting any recognition for holding title belts
