- In August 2023 we were able to pay a return visit Peter Spoerer's famous White Horse Railway in his Norfolk Garden. Peter was very welcoming and showed Simon and me how to steam up a couple of his beautiful live steam locomotives. We also got involved with some maintenance and cleaned the wheels of some elegant BR mk1 blood and custard coaches, which dramatically improved their running, and made up a huge rake of coaches for the large locomotive to pull.
We had a wonderful day and it really was a highlight of our holiday. A huge thank you to Peter for entertaining us on his railway for the afternoon.
It doesn't get much better than that!

Fantastic to see younger people involved. And great that someone had the time like I had.
Model railways are a truly inter-generational hobby, and that’s what our CZcams channel is all about! Thanks for watching.
Beautiful. You all must have had a wonderful time.
It was an amazing day! Peter is so welcoming and Simon (and dad) had a wonderful time. I hope we can visit him again some time.
You do very fun and inspirational videos
Thanks very much! The White Horse Railway is pretty inspiring!
0:44 the passngers on that mk1 coach must be screaming like: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
They paid extra for the thrill of the ride!
Much better than a a roller-coaster!
Well done Simon.
what a beautiful video. Simon is a fantastic boy. Very engaging and truly respectful, the apron was perfect. The trains are absolutely gorgeous in a perfectly kept setting. Mr. Spoerer is a most generous host, Thank you for a heartwarming video. All the best to you Simon.
What a lovely comment, thanks very much! We think he's fantastic too!

lucky simon
We were very lucky to be able to visit Peter and the White Horse again. What a wonderful day.
simon you was growth up 😁
Another train tastic video Simon, good on you mate! I wish I could have a garden railway like that some day. I did see one of Peter Spoerer's videos on his youtube channel about his white horse model railway, which was converting an Ivor the Engine money box into a gauge 1 battery powered locomotive. If you don't know what Ivor the Engine is, it is basically an animated tv series that depicts the story of a small locomotive in wales who wants to sing in the local quior, his dream is realized when he is fitted with three organ pipes in place of his whistle. If you haven't seen an episode I highly recommend it.
How is it that a lot of people are able to build beautifully custom built model locomotives and rolling stock so quickly? Is that Southern Railways Q1 made out of brass? And that Winston Churchill locomotive is so majestic to that of the original which is now part of the National Railway Museum/Locomotion museum in York and Shildon respectively.
so good to see that you are having so much fun playing trains. Keep it up
Thanks! Yes we've seen Peter's Ivor video and in fact that was how we first discovered his channel when searching for Ivor on CZcams. Simon was able to play with that very model the first time we visited Peter. You can see that on Peter's channel here: czcams.com/video/doNqcjVU7Vw/video.htmlsi=l3bNBhfrTyFbA5p-
Peter is a very skilled man with a very well resourced workshop! Yes the Q1 is brass. Peter is reluctant to paint it as it looks great as it is!
🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉
it would be great if he had a class 37!
Well done Simon.
Thanks for watching.
